Have you ever compared the ending string part of I dont want to miss a thing by Aerosmith to the string part of I want you to know? they are extremely similar..... have you ever heard someone saying something about it? no

I AM SO GOD DAMN GLAD THAT i AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THAT THATS THE WAY IT IS SOUNDS exactly LIKE RUN TO YOU!
and btw these kinds of law suits have been going on since lawyers were in existance....how many times was michale jackson sued? and how about when PM dawn was sued for using samples of songs?
per has nothing to worry about..jealousy will not win.
oh and if there r any american fans with pictures or other material interesting in contributing to usaroxette.com, I am working on my redesign and would appreciate and assistance possible :)

A couple of weeks ago, I bought Céline’s DVD, and noticed how similar ’Run To You’ is to her ’That’s The Way It Is’.... Funny to see it being brought up on here (albeit it 1 year ago...)

Well, if you really want to get into the Stolen song crap, BJ’s intro to “One Wild Night” (methinks) sounds AWEFULLY familiar to Kix Cha Cha.

someoen should sue max martin cause alot of the stuff he has written inculding thats the way it is sound alot like roxette material
misteryman00 said on March 18, 2003 02:19:
IN fact the intro from one wild night is a cha cha cha song that’s been made very populare even before kix cha cha...it’s an old anthem!!!BJ didn’t stole anything...they’ve just use it to made a fun intro....

OK, we had similar topics before, but it’s fun!
Celine’s ’That’s the way it is’ an very good example, especially if you compare it to the RUN TO YOU-Demo-Version! The same works for ’You never be alone’ from Anastacia but only the intro sounds VERY similar like the RTY-Demo!
When you listen to the instrumental middle-part of ’Angels’ from Robbie Williams you can sing exactly “And I walk around this smalltown...” to it, it’s just a different pitch than in WISH YOU THE BEST!
Not to mention Ms Biedermann or Croove Coverage... they stole directly!
We could go on for years with it...! ;o)
Cheers!

You know, there’s not thousand notes in a tune...but there’s several thousand songs !!!So, sooner or later you will find something similar between two songs !!!
I don’t really that all those songs are “stolen”, but that it’s impossible to avoid those similar tunes.
Is there any musicians out there who are thinking like me ??
Heart_2002 said on March 18, 2003 17:31:
I find that those similarities are not that much significant .. but you’re true a music lover and you pay attention to them you’ll find them somehow but i don’t take them seriously... otherwise listening to music becomes what? a battle field? Let them be the way they are and enjoy them
DaCapo21 said on March 18, 2003 18:01:
I don’t take similarities seriously.. it’s only funny coisidences that’s all ... i don’t cry rivers *lol* because the chorus of RS is the same as COY ... who cares? I don’t ....
kingboul said on March 18, 2003 18:14:
RIGHT !!! Even between twor Rox-songs you’ll find some similarities...
When you’re writing more than 100 songs, for sure you will write several similar tunes or string arrangement or whatever ...
DaCapo21 said on March 18, 2003 18:27:
See that’s the most natural thing in situations like these especially in a band like Roxette with almost 20 years carrear... i actually belive that those similarities make their music unique ..it creates trademark to it ...it means that you’ll recognize it imediatly as being a Rox tune! Is there anything wrong with that?
carbon_boy said on March 19, 2003 06:11:
Hmmmm, how bout this little twist:
Dressed for success guitar riff (that means the guitar parts) = Wild Thing (riff)
TCOTH (synth background riff) = I feel love by Donna Summer (synth background)
Sommartider (guitar intro) = All right now by Free (guitar intro)
And there are loads more.....
Cheers

Leave The Corrs alone! The Corrs were pretty well-known with their folk-pop sounding music and that doesn’t have anything to do with Roxette’s.

Yeah, I also noticed the similarities between “I don’t want to miss a thing” and “I want you to know” when it was released.
But if you take a look to nature:
There are sharks and there are dolphins. They are very different but they have certain things in common that make them look similar. There’s no doubt that sharks were earlier on this world than dolphins. So did the dolphins steal their shape from the sharks?
I just want to say that it is possible that very different things can be developed independed from each other and look very similar in the end. Or do you think that the songwriters of “I don’t want to miss a thing” or “One Wild Night” did really know the TWATG-album?
That’s the reason why I don’t like it when musicians bring each other to court, just because a few chords are played similar in two songs.

Just a small question: How important is a band like roxette in the international music business, which kind of role do they play? That you always think that every musician in the world (could be SG or the Corrs what ever) has to know them, like them and copy them? There are still quite a few who never heard of roxette or give a f*** about their music. I don´t like admitting that but roxette´s big time is over for a while :(

You’re right.
If someone can make me believe that The Look sounds like U got the Look by Prince...he should consider going into politics! And wild Thing and Dressed for Succes??? Are they joking??
Maybe rox should sue The Corrs and Savage Garden for not only copying songs...but copying their entire style...!!! And Celine Dion for doing a remake of “Run to you” with “That’s the way it is”.
It’s all nonsense
