I know theres one coming out for shania twain with alot of big name artists covering her songs, shouldn’t emi take some of their big named artists like robbie williams and tina turner and do a rox tribute cd?

I think it would be a great idea, but with little known bands. To be honest, I don’t care about Tina Turner’s version of a Rox song, but I’d like to know how a band which is beginning would perform it. Anway, I don’t think EMI will ever do it. It costs money :s

I would like to hear I Love The Sound Of Crashing Guitars, She Doesn´t Live Here Anymore or Jefferson by In Flames.

Great melodic death metal band with fantastic guitar riffs, raging speed and strong melodies. And they are from Goteborg.
They covered Everything Counts of Depeche Mode back in 1997 and it rocks.

Oh no, not for me. I’ve heared the Freddie Mercury Tribute and most of it was crap and later there’s been another Queen tribute (only with German singers if I am not mistaken) and it was even worse! I don’t want to hear good Rox songs getting bad.

I think I would prefer Swedish artists to be in such a tribute album ;)
(the international artists I’d pick up are VERY unavailable ;))

Not sure it’s something I would buy... I guess it woud depend on who was singing it!

Hmm, maybe, maybe not. There was a Bon Jovi released in the UK at the same time as their tour and it was rubbish. The singers were people I’ve never heard of, and they basically killed the songs! It was awful.
BUT, if they got some people with decent voices then it could work. But no one could sing It Must Have Been Love or Spending My Time or (well any song) like Marie can..... And really no one could sing a song like Per either.

Actually the point of making a different version is to make it sound different.
As some of you know, I like Crowded House very much, and there’s this CD sung only by Australasian female singers called “She Will Have Her Way”, a tribute to Neil and Tim Finn.
I think it’s quite nice. And of course women do not sound like men do! :D I especially like Kasey Chambers version of Better Be Home Soon and Natalie Imbruglia’s one of Pineapple Head :P
You can hear to samples on this one on Amazon’s website: http://www.amazon.com/She-Will-Have-Her-Way/dp/B000B668TA

In South Africa there was a CD and Cassette released in 1992 with ALL Roxette’s greatest hits at that time. I only have the cassette. I don’t know who released it, but it’s NOT Per and Marie singing on the cassette. It’s another guy and girl f*cking up the songs.
The cassette is called “The Hits Of Roxette”.

Tina Turner has a HORRIBLE voice - to hear her crap up Roxette’s lovely songs would be a mess, but YES, it’s a GREAT idea.
Btw: I LOVE Shania Twain
