Movies time.. What movies did you recently watch? dont forget to give review and comment too..
SAMURAI SEVEN. 1954 Directed by Akira Kurosawa. Casting: Toshiro Mifune, Takashi Shimura, Yoshio Jnaba, etc
A movie that inspiring Hollywood’s seven magnificent. Desperate villagers hire 7 samurai to protect their village from terror of 40 bandits. The 7 samurai help the villager to protect the village, train the villager to fight, and build an organized defend mechanism.. its black and white, a classical movie, Akira kurosawa still had his touch from RASHOMON in this movie..You should watch it.
Brilliant acting from Toshiro Mifune (as Kikuchiyo). Each samurai has their unique character. Kambei (Takashi Shimura) the leader samurai is an experienced samurai, very wise, and a war strategist. Gorobei (Yoshio Jnaba) is a spear master, Kambei’s partner in the past. Kyuzo (Sjiji Miyagouchi) is a sword master, his sword skill is the best in the group. Heihachi (Minoru Chiaki) is a cheerful & hardworking samurai, who always cheer up the spirit of the group when their morale is low. Shiciroji (Daisuke Kato) is another experienced samurai, kambei’s best friend in present. Katshuhiro (Jsao Kimura) is a rookie&youngest samurai, eager to learn sword and battle from Kambei and the others,.And finally my favorite, the last samurai Kikuchiyo (Toshiro Mifune), is the wild samurai, very powerful, great sense of humor, full of spirit,. Kurosawa exploited the character one by one very well. The cinematography was very artistic, I love the the artistic rainy last battle scene.
Kambei: “At Last ..It’s not our victory…its their (villagers) victory”

About Schmidt.2002.Directed by Alexander Payne Casting: Jack Nicholson, Kathy Bates, Hope Davis, Dermot Mulroney, etc.
Warren R Schmidt (Jack Nicholson) is an 66 year old who’s just retired from his job at a fine insurance company. Not long after that his beloved wife died. His only family left is Jeanne(Hope Davis) who’s getting married soon. So it’s a complete loss for schmidt.. The movie tells us about how schmidt spend his rest of lifetime in emptiness and sorrow, How he shares his story with his new foster son in Africa by letters, how he tried to stop his daughter from getting married, and so on.. The story is very simple, unique, beautiful and sometimes funny, the plot is flowing smoothly, nice screenplay! Jack acting is magnificent, he did exploit every schmidts character very well, for this jack was nominated for oscar in this movie. And final praise for Mr. Director, good job. Ok if you havent seen it, its highly recommended.
My favourite scene is when schmidt receives a picture from his foster son…
Warren R Schmidt: “its not about how long I could live, its about what changes I could make”

The Departed.2006.Directed by Martin Scorsese. Starring: Leonardo Dicaprio, Matt Damon, Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin, Vera farmiga, Mark Welberg
Another trend of Hollywood remaking movies based on Asian movies continues..after The Ring, The grudge, dark water, pulse, the eye, the lake house. And Now The Departed which is remake of Hongkong’s Internal Affairs.
The Departed is a spy story of gangster life in Boston. Frank Castello (Jack Nicholson) is an influenced and powerful, cold blooded big boss of an Irish gangster. He sneaked his man, as a spy, Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon) in to Boston Police Department (BPD) in a strategic position. Frank and Collin is just like father and son, Frank took care collin since Collin is a little boy. On the other side, BPD sneaked their man, Billy Costigan (Leonardo Di Caprio) in to Castello gangs as a spy. So its Spy Vs Spy huh? Anyway Billy and Collin don’t know each other, they also don’t recognize each other face, although they are in the same year at the police academy. finally collin, billy, castello and also BPD realize that their enemy already sneaked a spy into one another…and they start to work hard to find who is the spy?!.. The plot is slow and boring at 30 first minutes. many violent scenes and dirty words..the plot will make u curious and tense.. The ending is to be concluded by you..Cinematography is not a strong point here, Scorsese made it simple, and down to earth, unlike his last work The Aviator or Good fellas., another strong point here is Jack Nicholsons acting..wow!! brilliant..di caprio actually really worked hard to change his image as a sweet boy, and it leads to my sympathy. It’s a good movie, but I don’t really recommend it, comparing to The Aviator or Goodfellas, I’m disappointed..
My favourite scene is when collin and billy talks each other at the phone for the very first time..and start to suspect one another as the spy…at the time they don’t recognize each other face..
Frank Castello: “ a cop or not, when you’re facing a loaded gun, what’s the difference?”
