The only downside of Christmas and birthdays for me is that I don’t want anything. I really don’t! My mam threatens me with the 1st 3 things she sees on QVC. If its powertools, I’m screwed!

What I proposed to my family is that we all get given a set amount of money, and we all go out and buy for ourselves. We then wrap it, and distribute it amongst your family. Your family then give you your presents on Christmas Day, so you get what you want. Cool, nuh? My folks said no, my mum likes threatening me with the first 3 things on QVC *shudder*.

Oh dear - saw a Christmas advert on TV last night. Can’t remember what it was advertising though, as I was in the other room, just heard jingle bells playing, rushed into the lounge, but it was just ending. Come on people, it’s August still. And yesterday, in the local paper, they had the first batch of Christmas party menu’s for the office parties.

Its completely daft i used to work in next and the signal to start selling wrap was august bank hol. I love xmas but when the xmas songs start creeping on the shop tape in November u have certainly had enough by December 25th!

BUT I HATE.... the metro centre at xmas- to be avoided at all costs, and that horrible hot feeling u get queing in the shops when u have a coat and scarf on cos its 2 degrees outside.

I love nothing more than wrapping last minute gifts or writing out cards in an evening when it’s cold outside...
I also love the switch on of the lights, but they moved it this year to a Sunday late afternoon because of the drunks on the evenings!

Go to the mall with your roommate and sit on Santa’s lap. Refuse to get off.

Sit in a corner in the fetal position rocking back and forth chanting, “Santa Claus is coming to town, Santa Claus is coming to town...”
Hang mistletoe in the doorway. When your roommate enters or leaves the room, plant a wet one on his/her lips.

It was lunchtime, and I was walking round town, going to get a sandwich for my lunch. On my way back to work, I went into a magazine/paper shop to get some lunchtime reading.
I saw Christmas Cards and Wrapping paper for sale!!! I was like “oh my god!!!”. This can’t be true.
So here you go, this years Christmas thread started already. I wonder how many replies we’ll have by the time Xmas is really here!
