A very famous European philosopher called Wolfgang von Goethe said that:
“The effects of good music are not just because it’s new; on the contrary music strikes us more the more familiar we are with it.”

Maybe that solves you “wonder why?” question.

Äntligen

@ whateveriam

Yes, I’m very fond of THL - especially their earlier work. I’ve only recently rediscovered them through their 2001 release “Secrets”, which I do not believe was ever released in NA.

I really enjoyed their 95 realease “Octopus”, which in my opinion was their strongest release since the early 80’s release of “Dare”.

Do you know if they will be touring N.A?

Tom Petty - Highway Companion!

Anybody else picked this up yet?
I bet Per has!

My top 3 are ’Down South,’ Night Driver,’ and ’Flirting with Time.’

@Nate, I thought Secrets was released in Canada, I read they did a promo tour there for it.

N.A Tour not looking likely, but www.league-online.com is usually the first for info. plus loads of cool remixes

’Quite a few of you have emailed us about extra League dates in the US in the coming months. These dates may well be happening but we’ve had no official word.’

Nate, sweetheart, no word on N.A tour-might be summer rather than Chrimbo. If you want to know, these are the known dates

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=31396932...

right now: Juni, juli, augusti from GT

Bowie-lots and lots of Bowie...

OK-stopped Bowie, and have Virgin Radio on the go- G’N’R Sweet Child O’ Mine, which I hate... dammit!

Ah, moved on to Springsteen. All is well with the world. Toodle pip!

@whateveriam

Thanks so much for the info. I had no idea there was a promo tour for Secrets in Canada.

btw what’s Chrimbo?

now listening to A-ha’s Minor Earth Major Sky :)

Nate- Chrimbo=Christmas. Now , maybe I should add this to Britishisms...

Now you ask about NA dates, I really hope they do do them so you can see them (they tour virtually every year in the uk, and this year they are doing Belgian and Dutch shows if you can go).

Joyride - Roxette

Nelly Furtado - Flames to dust

Cyndi Lauper-She’s So Unusual, particularly ’All Through The Night’

Now listening to Look Sharp I am going through a Rox moment!

In wait for the new Roxette song I am listening to PASSIONWORKS new “Blue play” album. See the Subject “Passionworks” in this Off-Topic forum. Or just visit: www.passionworksmusic.com

“Ba ba ba, ba ba ba ba ba” :)

That has inspired me to play “Save a Prayer” - I loved the video for that song - where did it take place again?

PAINT IT, BLACK!.......THE STONES!

Someone lent me a Thompson Twins concert on video, so I’m technically listening to that...

Nate-Sri Lanka methinks, hang on, I’ll have a look.

Me da said ’Indian Ocean somewhere’ Yeah, Dad, thanks. That was helpful.

Linda Perry - In flight... does anybody like this album??

I love “success” and “knocked me out”

Jupiter Calling by Gessle :P

Erasure-Wild! very cool, especially Piano Song and Blue Savannah.

Pearls of Passion

t.A.T.u-Gomanasai. Guilty pleasure, really... I get so much stick for liking them!

@ whateveriam

Thanks, I thought so.

Now, I’m listening to Rapture: Blondie

Ooo- you saying Blondie has made me get the 7”s out...

’Call Me’ anyone?

OK, Blondie got on my tits after a while, so after tormenting kid brother with Depeche Modes Violator, I dug out a CD-V a friend made with loads of the Duran Duran vids on it - got scared at the vid for Night Boat (v creepy- someone showed it to me when I was younger and I never recovered). LOL at The Chauffer-pretty tame considering videos now.

Also listened to ’Dream Into Action’ by Howard Jones, and had Tourism on the go when I was writing. I think thats it.

Oh, yeah and ’Sacrafice by t.A.T.u- got to buy ’Dangerous And Moving’ soon...

More Love - The Tribe

ive been listenin to Ace Of Base Singles of the 90s all day

Ian Van Dahl: Lost And Found
Da Buzz: Dangerous - the album.

Right now listening to a self-made compilation of A-Ha songs... It’s a ballad CD with 20 tracks on it, which starts with “Velvet” and ends with “Birthright”...

In continuation to wierd, wonderful and perfectly possible mash ups (better known as ’music fight with sister’) I was listening to the Dr Who theme tune (new version one with David Tennant) and ’Teaser Japanese’ together - now that IS a shit wierd remix waiting to happen... @Nate, what do you think hun?

’...so the opera thing is a bit half baked but its a great song and I can sing all 5 male parts heheheeh’

Yay! I wanna hear this! My friend does a killer Jim Kerr impression- maybe I can persuade him to do karaoke?

OK, listening to Bananarama, t.A.T.u, Simple Minds, Roxy Music, Bowie, GT, and The Lonely Boys.

Watching V Festival as well- bitter cos a) I missed out on Morrissey tickets as well as V tickets, and he’s playing, and b) cos its in my birth town as well! It just adds to the insult.

Hmm........ wheres my Smiths tape?

Hey, @Nate, you never commented on my proposed mix! I thought it was a good idea...

@ whateveriam

sorry my friend, I didn’t ignore you intentionally. Unfortuntaely I cannot comment as I’m not familiar with either. :)

*puts on some classic New Order - Blue Monday and begins to sing with his best signing voice*

“How does it feel
To treat me like you do
When you’ve laid your hands upon me
And told me who you are

I thought I was mistaken
I thought I heard your words
Tell me how do I feel
Tell me now how do I feel”

Il divo: I believe in you.....ok so the opera thing is a bit half baked but its a great song and I can sing all 5 male parts heheheeh

@ coyboy

wow, that sounds impressive! - you must have quite a range.

@ Nate, don’t panic my good man, I don’t have my brain geared to what music you like or have heard, so I operate on guess work.

Damn, you saying New Order has reminded me I STILL need to find my copy of Brotherhood, I still can’t find it, and its been 3 months!

Swedish ladies like Sandra Dahlberg, Nanne Grönwall and Shirley Clamp. And I’ve discovered the russian band Reflex...
