Any more fans of The Pretenders or Chrissie Hynde out there? I love I’ll Stand By You.and my favourite album would be Viva El Amor! also Loose Screw is a great album.

Chrissie Hynde is American from Ohio.The Pretenders released their 1st single in 1979 and are still going strong despite the odd death in the band and a few line up changes over the years.they have released 9 original albums and the odd greatest hits.some of their most famous tracks include

The Pretenders’ music is absolutely stupendous. And, they need to stick to their music.
I saw them perform live not long ago, in a great local auditorium, on a Friday night during prime time (7:00 - 10:00); the accoustics were fabulous. But here’s the problem: the audience consisted of a broad range of folks, from geriatrics to pre-school kids. Chrissie, between songs, just had to employ a lot of smutty expressions – “Get that f*cking spot light on me, now!” and “This won’t appeal to you, if you aren’t a c*nt like me” and others.
For an audience you KNOW will include children, as this one did, during prime entertainment time in a big city – because their songs are popular across all age groups – there was no excuse for her obscene language. Their music spoke for itself, without Chrissie striving to shock anybody between songs.
Shortly before the Pretenders, I saw Weird Al Yankovic in concert at the same place. He KNEW his audience, and he was absolutely hilarious, for little kids, big kids, adults, everybody. And his show was far more enjoyable than Chrissie’s. She, indeed, is a c*nt.

ive got the loose screw DVD and CD pack and the live show on that is great but obviously if she did swear it would have been edited.but it didnt seem to have any gaps or pauses.maybe she was having a quiet day.....

Entertainers are in the business of entertaining people, and it behooves them to stay attractive to audiences. Commedian Drew Carey, for instance, refuses to discuss politics with anyone; he recently told an interviewer that to do so, would immediately alienate half of his fans. That sounds like something one of those greedy conservative businessmen would do, to keep those profits rolling in.
Rock musicians have always been iconoclasts. The smart ones, though, understand they have to keep their fan base large, and keep them coming back for more. When have we ever heard Per or Marie say something smutty between songs? They are far too refined for that – they are exemplary artists, and they appreciate all of the folks who enjoy their work.
