Duh Vinci Code Movie

Oh my gosh! It has everything from the BOOK, except for the interesting parts! And – did you see Tom’s HAIR ?

The “Opus” stuff is a conspiratorial take on “Opie,” the director’s alter-ego. Dogs and cats, living together, Aunt Bea and Barney! It’s got Catholics wondering how they can rely upon birth control that employs math... but no physics or chemistry!

“Da Vinci Code II” will explore the Alamo Code, recent revelations that Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie actually escaped Santa Anna’s doom to tend a herd of sheep on a mountain in Alaska, and grow old together.

Mona Lisa! Doubting Thomas! Judas was actually ORDERED to participate in the betrayal! Lee Harvey Oswald’s palm print, on that rifle they found in the Schoolbook Depository, was in reality placed there by Mary Magdalene and Peter The Rock.

The one question left unanswered: What did paupers Joseph and Mary do, with all that treasure the Three Wise Men left them in the Bethlehem manger? Did they invest it all in a no-load mutual fund, confident in stock market returns... or WHAT?

I can’t say anything more, without exposing myself to alien abduction.

Nooo NO NO no alien abduction, come back..
Explain this : “Lee Harvey Oswald’s palm print, on that rifle they found in the Schoolbook Depository, was in reality placed there by Mary Magdalene and Peter The Rock.” What??????

So i guess it is not worth it to go see the movie...? :P

Ha ha, good review. I haven’t heard a single person liking this movie. And Opie is getting more and more bland...

I am going to see it on Tuesday! Mainly only because I am curious to see the difference from the book and to see Tom Hanks!

I want to read the book, but it’s too expensive. And experience tells me that films based on books are not really good if you have read the book.

I think I’ll watch it just to NOT boicott it ;)

Deborah: don’t bother reading the book. It’s rather lame. if you want to know what the fuss is all about, read some of the books published after DVC was published...also “holy blood holy grail” is a good resource.

But there’s Audrey Tautou :P

Can’t be arsed to go and see it. It seems like it’s one of those films where you’ve gotta really concentrate. Maybe when it’s out on DVD or Sky, but not at the mo

Audrey Tautou is the best reason to see it for sure ;)

I think the american realigious right was behind the making of this movie ;)

I think i’ll give it a go, seems to be ok.

Ok lets ALL go and watch it together... shall we set a specific day...? Tomorrow maybe (yeah there’s discounts on Tuesdays ya know!!)?

ow its a great film. good entertainment. everyone i know whos seen it agrees. some great acting.

I liked the movie although I think book is much better. There are too many things in the book and not so much time to show all that in the movie. Tom was cool, also Ian and Reno were great. But Audrey and that albino-guy were not exactly portraying the characters as I’ve imagined them.

Anyway, I can’t even imagine how all the people believing in Christianity see this movie. I guess I’m going to wait till 2 of my friends see it and tell me their point of view. Should be an interesting conversation. :)

I loved it.... :)

I can’t find fault but then its also almost 2 years since I read the book but I am going to read it again... defo one for the DVD collection!

As far as I go, the jury is still out on whether or not I will attend. I’m not sure about it. My gut feeling says: “No” for various reasons.

I liked the book - it’s a real page turner. Not sure if I’ll see the film though. I’m rather sceptic.

Never read the book and never will..might as well go see the movie.

After all the hype over the book and now the movie, i’m almost tempted to read the book. And i haven’t read a novel since i was in high school.

I have not read the book but I really liked the movie! I think I’ll read the book now.

i think no film is better than a book, the depth a book goes depends on it pages, but a film only last as long as our bum cheeks dont hurt. truthfully thats the reason. As far as books becoming films, all films are based on storys which where ones books (or scripts) its just that the book is so new and was huge seller. if lord of the rings was made a couple of years after the book came out they would be as much question whats better ect.

PS did anyone else think that the french actress in the film, was wonderful, i feared she was gonna be shit and weak. she isnt loved her, beautiful and graceful she was.

I agree she was really good playing the role she did!

I didn’t expect less from Audrey Tautou, as I said before :P

I’m going to see it tomorrow night. Hope I don’t fall asleep

id never seen a film with Audrey Tautou in before u see, and in the previews she doesnt say a word, so i expected her not to do much in the but was very suprised.

times flys when watching it.

Haven’t you watched “Amélie”? She excels in that one.

Never seen that Santi, but I want to now!

yes must admit im curious as to see that film now.

Santi is right. And you should all definitelly see that movie. :)

Ally do yourself a favour and go and see Amélie; really such a tender film!!

This was good! Actually really enjoyed it and it didn’t send me to sleep!

i like to think im a good film critic .lol
ps go see x3 people wont be dispointed.

i thought it was alright.....

I was dying to see it, then all the bad reviews came out and I didn’t bother. I finally went to see it, and actually loved it. I wasn’t bored at all and Audrey is a great actress. Some people just like to complain I guess.

Did not read the book and my expectations were real high about the movie. It was ok, slightly disappointing though. I don’t know, I just expected a little more of that “something”.

McKellen & Reno, however, were brilliant as always. Love those 2.

must have been the church paying off some reporters to spread bad reviews ;)

I recommend reading the book, I really enjoyed that and it went by very fast even if it’s 600 pages!! But it’s very smart, witty.

I can’t say the same about the movie: they changed a few things, it didn’t give me the same exciting vibe as the book, still I can’t say it was a bad movie, though..

Guess wat guys? Methodists in my country took part in a march against this movie (Da vinci Code) and so cinemas had actually stopped showing it. (I think it was no use cause hundreds of people had seen it already.I was planning to go watch it but now I guess I’ll hav to wait till its available in video shops in town.

As a Methodist beleiver myself, I think that they had no right to do so because it is only a movie and is a work of fiction. that simply showed how stupid they are. I mean wouldn’t you agree with me?

I agree with you, it seems that you’re a sensible person, I can’t understand how people can be frightened a movie could change the religious belief of those who watch it??

I saw it and liked it. Exactly like I expected. Tom Hanks great as well, so did Tatou and Ian McKellen. My fav scene is when they tried to revealed each code, kinda reminds me of how Nash did in Beautiful Mind, but it make sense since it has the same director.
Also, as a Christian, I don’t find this movie offend at all and it definately won’t change my faith. I see that as a great and entertaining movie and I enjoy it as much I enjoy reading the books.

Out on DVD in October!

under two weeks left for it’s release!

Been waiting for this. Didn’t get around to seeing it at the cinema.

It was great... but I can’t wait for the DVD.... with the extras!
