Keep the radio on - Download?
Roxwriter said on December 2, 2005 09:41:
Hey,
I’ve only got the SOAP Digi Pak and therefore have never heard “Keep The Radio On” the bonus track.
Where can I download this track?
Is it any different to The Lonely Boys version? (Not that I’ve heard that one either)
Cheers.

hi, i think your toppic will be archived as mine. i haven’t heard KTRO and lookin for mp3 of it...
Roxrider_USA said on December 2, 2005 16:57:
I don’t think it should be archived. I mean, some people like me bought the regular album but won;t buy the vinyl verison ’cause of simple reasons such as not owning a vinyl player. That’s my case.
So, do you really think we’d buy a vinyl player to be able to listen to one song only when we already have the CD version? It’ doesn’t make much sense at all.
Therefore, what’s so wrong about us the Fans help each other out with “Keep The Radio On” ?
Conclusively, if this thread is archived, it would seem, at least under my understanding, that we are being forced, or at the minimal, being compelled to buy the vinyl and, for some of us, a vinyl player in order to enjoy one song. Stop and think rationaly, is that really reasonable?
Take care, friends!

thenicekai said on December 2, 2005 17:05:
If I recall it correctly, KTRO should be released on one of the forthcoming singles. In this case I can understand that EMI/TDR/SOAP (or whoever) is not happy with a mp3 of it.
Roxrider_USA said on December 2, 2005 17:19:
@thenicekai: If that’s the case, then it’s understandable.
However, could you or anyone else with legitimate info on regarding this statement, verify it? I would really appreciate it.
Otherwise, I will stick to my previous statements in the above message posted.

Yeah, you should just buy the LP! That’s the thing which makes it special. Just wait till you get the LP.
Roxrider_USA said on December 2, 2005 20:18:
@colinvdbel: I understand that. However, did you read my first posted message?
It’s senseless for me or others that are in the same situation, to go out and buy vinyl player just to listen to “Keep The Radio On”. It’s highly unlikely that we’d be buying other vinyl albums. Furthermore, we have already purchesed the CD version. So why buy vinyl record? Understand my point, friend? :-)
But, if “Keep The Radio On” is released as a b-side in one of the next single CD’s then it’s another story. Then we could by the single CD.
So, there’s no way I would buy a vinyl player just to listen to one song when i already have the CD version of the album that cointains all the other songs.
Hopefuly, you see my point, which, i trully believe is clear and makes lots of sense.
Take care

LoneGunman said on December 2, 2005 20:23:
That´s a interesting point...
I see EMI - TDR - SOAP.com, every single “official” font trying to avoid the fans from here to get the album in the net.
I think it´s so silly. First, we, members from TDR, are the true loyal fans... everyone here will buy any Rox & related album if it´s possible. Do you guys at EMI & moderators from TDR REALLY think that WE (fans here in TDR) will be the responsables for any flop of the sales if we get the songs on the net first ? I bought the album and I downloaded it first and I will send it through email, msn, whatever to any other FAN that wants it. Simply because a bunch of 400 registered fans in this site won´t affect at all the sales of SOAP. In fact, if the album sold anything, is probably thanks to us.
I won´t buy the vinil because I don´t have a player, and even if I had one, it´s silly to buy a vinil just to get a song already released in the Lonely Boys album. I respect the ones that want to have this item, but I won´t buy it.
And as long as I know, Per said he´s not working for money, so why should here care if 30 fans from TDR (that bought the CD) get a mp3 version of KTRO(TITPS) ?
Get real... almost no one in the world is interested in SOAP, except US... and EMI and moderators here are always trying to make us the enemy.
Just to finish: if I get the mp3 version of KTRO(TITPS) I´ll upload it EVERYWHERE... in the end, just 30-40 of us will get anyway.
All the best, very sorry for my bad english
LoneGunman
Roxrider_USA said on December 2, 2005 21:39:
@LoneGunman: It’s alright man! :-) Your english won’t prevent us from perfectly understanding your message. What you are saying is exactly my point on this topic.
So, as i said before, it’s just senseless for us, the ones that don’t have a vinyl player, to buy one to just listen to “KTRO”. Let alone buying the vinyl just because of an extra song.
It’s only for us loyal fans here in TDR. And, furthermore, if this thread gets shut down, i really believe that it will be a awful mistake. It would imply that we are, in a way, being forced to buy the vinyl version. It’s very interesting, but i don’t think anyone, who is part of this awesome community of loyal fans here in TDR, would buy me a vinyl player or give me the money for it.
So, if anyone in our TDR community has legitimate information concerning whether or not KTRO will be included as a b-side in one of the upcoming single CD’s, please let that info surface. Otherwise, the point I have made clearly enough, will still stand.
Take care!

Still searching for my sources of information. Haven’t found yet. Nothing in soap’s Q&A (where I had expected it to be), nothing on Google, nothing on TDR. Next step: all the newspaper articles. I’m sure, I read it somewhere.
I would find it more than fair to include this song as a b-side in one of the next singles. But hej, only 3 weeks left to christmas. Let’s see what will happen to the true fans.
imazombieinthem... said on December 3, 2005 02:11:
Whether the vinyl has an extra song or not its just a different format some people prefer. There’s no pressure to buy it. The vinyl is being released just for mad collectors like myself and the people who prefer vinyl over cd, with the extra track being a extra incentive. I rang a store in Sweden yesterday and they had it in stock. Mine is on its way :D

Got the record last week. The song doesn’t sounds like a Christmas song. It sounds like a poppy, fuzz 60s Beach Boys-esq at the end of a lazy Los Angeles day version. I LOVE it. I wish I had it on CD because I would be playing it non stop.
I would be willing to transfer it to CD if anyone knew of a place in LA that does these kind of transfers.

Is the song really “available”? Do you consider that a song only released in a scarce vinyl, only released in Sweden (and even hard to get there, the LP is not easy to find even in Stockholm) could be considered as an “available” song? Come on!
