I live here in asia and I really hate watching those mtv, channel V and whatever video channels are present here .
They always feature rap artist, and this teen singers all from U.S. britain.
Always selling their life seeking sympathy, their lovelife, private life whatever. but their music is nothing, the lyrics are all the same. Their music are less creative, same sounds. less art and rythm
ohh!! I don’t know how to descibe it.and their voice sucks. I really felt angry thinking that this industry turns into this.
European artist are really talented, but only few of them reached the popularity they supposed to have.
I womnder if you guys Agree with me!v
what can u say?
Is this really the media that plays everything?

the problems with trends is that they usually stat out as great undetground music that gets perverted by an industry and in an attempt to cashin on the trend the INDUSTRY signs as many bands as they can that fall under that trend. Bands like silverchair got lumped into that post nirvana crap and they in my opion sometimes are better thna any grunge music ever written. Soundgarden was grunge long before curt kobain ever made a video. Whats worrisome is how music has now become a financial commodity and not an art form.
and no offenses but young girls don’t belong dressing liek prostitutes, theres freedom of expression and then there is common descencey, i am a big proponent of school uniforms

Media, at least here in Argentina. If you could hear groups from here... they are really bad and they are all day long on the TV and on the radio.

thats what I’m tellin u guys media affects every aspect in this world. Nirvana wasn’t even popular back then. tthen they gave the world this big shot dead headline that turns the head of music to a totally different line.
Music is no longer music nowadays it’s more of a an attitude. I guess roxers we have to be mere active just like. If they are yellin about what they want we can also do it.

Does management of media exposure ever create celebrity FAR beyond the talents of the subject? Can a publicity campaign convert some relatively ordinary performer into a “star” ? Two words: Lindsay Lohan.

The media will play whatever will bring them money in any way shape or form.
Back when Roxette was gaining popularity here in the States, this particular genre hit the airwaves: Grunge. Pretty soon, kids started dressing like Kurt Cobain and so on down the line. Now... they dress like they shit their pants or they look cheaper than a 50Cent whore because that’s what they see on tv and they want to look like that.
A friend of mine has a 12 year old daughter in junior high. They have a dress code at school and if you don’t follow it, you have to either go home or you wear an orange or green smock (I can’t remember which). Well, her daughter prefers to dress more “conservatively” and when Parent Teacher Conferences rolled around, my friend was basically cussed out because her daughter dressed as if she was “in her 30s”. B picks out all her own clothes when she goes shopping with her mom.
These are clothes that SHE wants to wear because they’re comfortable and she doesn’t “feel exposed” in them.
That’s the way of the world now.
