VH1 Strikes Again

Another Roxette gem has fallen to VH1’s Awesomely Bad lists.
First was The Look (#1s were the target).
This time it was It Must Have Been Love and a shocking #9 of Awesomely Bad (or was it cheesy?) Breakup Songs.
Typically, there were snarky comments about the title (How can you NOT know it was love?) and a series of riffs on the laying of whispers on pillows. I was a bit surprised by it myself. Roxette just can’t get no love no how.
It reminded me of the Q Magazine review of The Ballad Hits: Under the picture (from HAND sessions I guessed—Marie on a big white box looking down, Per may have had his face covered by his hands) was a caption that read something like “We’d be ashamed too.”

Some people THINK they know what constitutes “good” music.
If this song was so ’bad’, please tell me why it was #1 for so long?

if imhbl was as bad as vh1 said it was how come that it was the only song to be released twice & reaching the top 5 on both occasions?

VH1 is weird. On one show, it’s voted as one of the 100 best love songs of ALL TIME, and on this show, it’s an awesomely bad break-up song? Make up your mind, peeps!

Some people have little appreciation for great music these days. It’s sad, really.
