THE HEAT!

What’s going on with this weather!?!? It’s almost touching 30c in Guernsey. Way to hot. Going to Herm (small island 3 miles from Guernsey) this afternoon. Mustn’t forget my suncream!
Is everyone in the UK hot to?
harriej said on June 18, 2005 12:26:
Yes! Finally some summer.
I hope it stays like this for some time.
Here it is around 27 degrees today and tomorrow will be more or less the same, maybe one or 2 degrees higher.
For me, temperatures below 20 degrees are cold.
I like it the most when it is inbetween 25 and 30 degrees, like today.
ally77 said on June 18, 2005 16:16:
Yea! we have gone from raining, to blazing sun, in fact it’s too bloody hot... I’d rather keep the rain! lol

we just broke out heat wave on the east coast of the usa , was near 100 degrees for an entire week, more important is the question of wheter or not the pacific continental plate is set for a major shift with all the earthquakes happening

pwbbounce (moderator) said on June 20, 2005 07:33:
I actually can’t move today. Got so burnt on my legs can’t walk. And that’s with putting SPF20 on. Guernsey reached 29.8c yesterday, which is very high for over here. It’s so uncomfortable. Didn’t sleep very well yesterday either.
Roll on winter.... LOL But then I suppose we’ll be moaning that it’s too cold. But it’s easier to warm up when it’s cold then it is to cool down when it’s hot...
rox-kuryliw said on June 20, 2005 14:12:
pwbbounce so true, but british weather changes so so fast as we are an island off a huge ocean with a number of different jetstreams firing at us ( i have a huge weather interest) , so were allowed to moan . its the rule. BTW may was below average temp and sun. and july is set to be same as may, so enjoy while you can. i love winter me :-) cos i can only take so much skin off to keen cool, i love sitting infront of a fire in winter all curled up with my doggy . ;-)

Reading all your post about the heat I envy you. It seems summer is everywhere except at us, like it’s totally disappeared. The last week was damn cold (all the time around 20 degrees in the day, isn’t it cold for the middle of June?), rainy and windy :S No sign it will be a lot better till the end of the week *sigh*
girl7twenty7 said on June 22, 2005 12:08:

I don’t like it. Bring on the winter!!!!

Vixzter said on July 16, 2005 17:06:
cruelty to animals would be only ever feeding it beer and nothing else so that it walks around drunk all day and eventualy dies.
my dog has the last bits of beer out of the bottle once in a while, hardly cruel, and she enjoys it otherwise she wouldn’t drink it.
ally77 said on July 16, 2005 19:18:
My dog loves a drop of beer.... It’s no different to some parent letting there kid smoke or drink...

Vixzter said on July 17, 2005 16:48:
@LaMan: report me to the RSPCA then and we’ll get them to come round and see how ill-treated my dog is cos it drinks some beer.

I don’t want to come home after three weeks in a mess but there are many other things that I’d rather do than this at the moment.
By the way, I am going to Hungary at the Balaton lake. Anyone been there or going there?
Anyway, I wish everyone a fantastic holiday!

And while I’m sympathetic to those who aren’t used to the “high” temperatures in UK / Scotland (I lived there for 2 years on the eastern side of the country), I can’t help but to say:
Move your ass to Utah, where it’s a desert climate (Arizona / New Mexico / Western Texas rivals Utah for climate), and then let’s talk about 30C being hot.

LS 35-46C in Utah? Wow, that sounds mighty hot! - We very rarely ever hit 40C. Is it a dry kind of heat - or is it also humid and sticky? Does the working population there generally leave for work earlier in the morning to avoid the extreme heat like I hear they do in Phoenix, Arizona?
