the most underrated single release?

YDUM (by fans, by radio etc.)
discuss.

certainly “i want you to know”... amazing song, but it flopped.
from Roxette...SDLHA or YDUM. I must say that i didn’t like YDUM at the beggining, but now it seems to be a great song :)

“She dosen´t....” is a perfect singel and just as good as “June afternoon”. Then we have “run to you” wich in my opinion is the best song on CBB together with Lies. I have always tought that “salvation” is a great song but it never did well as a singel....don´t know why really.

Everything that came after Sleeping In My Car.
Especially “Fireworks” and “Run To You”. I wonder why they weren’t hits. Same goes for “June Afternoon”.

June Afternoon most probably hasn’t become a hit, because it has been released in January.. :(

Fireworks!! and also June Afternoon (maybe it would have better chances if it was not released in wintertime, but around june :)

Queen of Rain is such a nice song and the videoclip was gorgeous. I also thought Fireworks was a great song, it probably would have been a hit if it had been released during Joyride times.

Definitively:
- A thing about you
- Fingertips ’93
- Fireworks
- She doesn’t live here anymore
- You don’t understand me

Vulnerable. Not really sure what happened with that one. Lack of promotion I feel.
Plus Opportunity Nox. It got loads of airplay over here in Guernsey, and then the release got cancelled in the UK.

“June Afternoon” released in winter? I remember reading that! I wonder whose idea that was! What the label should have done is put out “She Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” as the 2nd single from the greatest hits project and held “June Afternoon” for a summer release – release the single the first week of June. I think it would have faired better.
As for most underrated single release, aren’t there really too many? I think I’ll go with “Salvation.” A beautiful song.

Spending my time, Sleeping in my car, Crash!Boom!Bang!, You Don’t Understand Me and Wish I could fly.
These songs should have been more successful in the UK charts.

Definitively
1.Joyride
2.She Doesn,t Live Here Anymore
3.June Afternoon

NeverEnding Love.
Never existed in the Uk and should have been on the Pop Hits - they mention it in the booklet and it was their FIRST! You don’t really forget things like that! Everyone counts the Look as their first single (nonfans) which I disagree with!!!!
So not just underated but forgotten lol

U see... “Un día sin ti” is the most underrated, since you didn’t even know it was released :DDD

With this discussion, every country has a different opinion. In Australia, everything that came slightly before SLEEPING IN MY CAR and after were sort of ignored, receiving no marketing appeal at all. So I guess I can say that most of the classier singles that followed from 1994 were definitely underrated here. See what I mean?
I guess it really is all about the dollar and proper marketing strategies. Roxette is for certain a very very VERY radio-friendly product, so tha fact that it doesn’t fit on radio is simply no excuse. It’s more political I think!

I don’t understand that people who mentioned Joyride as an underrated single. It was a #1 single almost worldwide. Do u think it’s an underrated single? Wake up!
ncurran said on June 28, 2005 18:33:
Probably Crash boom bang, at least in the UK. It had the potential to be a huge hit in the UK if it was marketed properly, but in the end it only reached #26

Salvation....................’nuff said. Perfekt ballad. But I agree ref. YDUM....perfekt toon also and the video devastatingly gorgeous.

Queen Of Rain
C!B!B!
both totally gorgeous and very underated
Also Dangerous should have been released on its own instead of being a double-A side

I agree totally, YDUM was brilliant, the video as soon as i saw it made me love the song even more, one of the best .
