I hate my boss!
Sparvogamarie said on May 25, 2005 14:15:
I bet there’s a lot of you out there that hate your boss, so here’s a thread to rant about it.
I have two bosses, a husband and wife and they are complete psychos. The husband, who I will call Jonas, has a violent temper and flies off the handle about really small things. Me and his wife (who I will call Carin) have to hide things from him or he’ll explode. Carin meanwhile is a hyper control freak perfectionist who expects me to be perfect at all times, never make a mistake or forget anything (even though her memory is so bad she’d forget her own ass if she wasn’t sitting on it.) They make me nuts!!
Anyone else want to share about an evil boss? C’mon, I know you’re out there!!

I can’t really complain about my current bosses.. but I’ve had real asses in the past.
The last company I worked in Spain was a pseudo-family company, the wife of the owner “worked” there and allower herself the right to shout at anybody “below” her for whatever reason, she was a freak, I guess she is still. She was always on the phone with some provider, also shouting at them, and then she wondered why she had a hard time finding providers *duh* She had no manners and education at all, she had studied at some private university, business admin and worked for some months as controller.. and she thought she was the best accountant around.. while she had no clue.
And not to talk about her English! Oh, and how much she hated the fact that I spoke it better than her (wasn’t that difficult anyway ;)).
The other boss was good, but she got lazy as she was in such a “high” position - she was ok with me but could be a real bitch too with others, totally fake and well, I know she used me and my skills, but hej, I also did, I am not THAT stupid ;)
Actually in the last months I was there I did most of the stuff, she only had to click a couple of buttons to get the Profit and Loss statements, Liabilities, Assets bla bla.. She was 50 and she kind of let go (like 3-4 months before I left, after 3,5 years of being underated) that they were thinking of me as her substitute, when she retires.. see, people - men and women - retire at the age of 65! I thought “oh yes, and therefore I’ll stay here feeling ’abused’ for 15 years, to see how the son /daughter of the owner comes and gets the position just because”. I think she almost got a heart-attack when I told her that I leave. “Damn! Now I’ll have to work!” she must have thought.

My current manager is a bit dozy, I find they have no organising skills to be in a mangement role!!! :S
I don’t hate my job like I hated others, but I know I could do better....

I didn’t really like my last boss... He’s the owner of Real Madrid CF and I generally dislike anything that has to do with them...
Anyway, maybe now I’d like to have a boss to hate, probably that’d make my economy look different than the black hole I have for economy at the moment.

At my company, the sorts of folks who move into the “boss” category always combine the qualities “scabby little bureaucrat” and “retentive sociopath.” In time, they always manage to get the minimum from their subordinates. Yes, the minimum.

Not necessarily “the boss” per say, but the politics of the company and the fact that the Union “sold us out”. In our last contract negotiation, I know for a fact that OVER 75 operators put down as the MAIN negotiating point:
Retirement things for senior operators. The guys in the top 20 who were near retirement age or should be off the road before they kill someone kind of thing. Instead... the Union decided to negotiate health care and stuff as a priority. The senior operators got NOTHING when the current contract was voted in. Everything that got converted over to the new Personal time system screwed a lot of them because a couple of them used up quite a bit of sick leave with injuries (my buddy Anderson, who just retired before I was gone, busted his rotator cuff and was off several months).
One of the other things about it all that bothered me was we had what was referred to as “short notice sicks”. In order to avoid a miss-out, you had to call in 61 minutes or more prior to the start of your shift to hit the sick list. A couple of the regular operators and a couple of the extra board had been hit with a flu that had been going around and subsequently hit the short notice sick 45 minutes before shift start. According to the contract, you’re allowed only 3 of those in a rotating 12 months before termination.
ALL of them recieved “conferences” with the managers and supervisors stating that if they did it again, they’d be fired. All I can say is:
I hope to hell UTA screws themselves so badly they go bankrupt.
And that’s not even the highlights of it all.

sweet_stalker57 said on May 26, 2005 05:37:
oh man the old sweet stalker had so many bosses fearing for their lives. I would pound my fist on the table
in meetings and yell stuff like “your a fucking liar scumbag!”
I NEVER took any lip!
but now I have been in the source (surfing) for so long I am all mellow and nice. :)
but my real money comes from having no boss and you all should open your minds to the possibilities and do the
same. tax free too baby!
hmmmm, but Sparv I always thought you were independently wealthy with all the jet setting.
Sparvogamarie said on May 26, 2005 12:44:
Hey Sweetstalker long time no see (I still have my MM badge you made me!) No I am not independantly wealthy, I just squander my money on Marie!
Well at least I’m not alone with stupid bosses. Thankfully I finish in one month, but I’m stressing because they are supposed to pay my flight home, and the way things are going I think they might try to back out of it.

@ You must be happy to go home at last, but I bet you’ll miss Sweden...
Sparvogamarie said on May 26, 2005 15:15:
Yeah I will, but I think I’ll come back. I found a few other jobs that seem great, but I’m just emotionally exhausted from dealing with these two lunatics for 9 months.

kids r fun to stick in potatoe sacks n throw in the river or smack in the head with the old cabbage patch kid dolls :)
ally77 said on May 27, 2005 07:07:
@ coyboyusa .... have been tempted.... no I do like kids if they have manners but when they are dragged up I could kill the little buggers!
Sparvogamarie said on May 27, 2005 07:27:
The kids are no problem at all, if it was just them I’d be fine. It’s the parents who are raving lunatic control freak psychos with a superiority complex and a bad attitude!
sweet_stalker57 said on May 28, 2005 04:24:
hey Sparv I sent you an email a few months ago.
[email protected] is my new addy.
Sparvogamarie said on May 28, 2005 12:39:
Oam: Yes I am, and it’s no picnic I can tell you!
SS: I didn’t get it! Which addy did you send it to?
Denstandigaresan said on May 30, 2005 21:38:
Nope I don’t hate my boss. She’s a sweetheart. :)
Although she has organised a haunted castle trip... I could hate her after that. ;)
RobS said on May 31, 2005 08:54:
I don’t hate my boss, but i don’t like him either. He’s just damn annoying, always telling me to do stuff that I know has to be done, or that I am about to do. And never does anything that I ask him to do! The worst is when he says he’ll do something and I end up doing it for him.. Grrr..
But when he wants to be nice he’s a good bloke.
on_a_mission said on May 31, 2005 15:09:
I’m currently unemployed, well, I’m a student. I’ve had a number of, er, ’interesting’ bosses to say the least. All I can say is, having a bad boss really sucks.
coyboyusa said on May 25, 2005 15:02:
well i dont think my boss is evil but hes become a bit of a big pussy
i work in a grocery store on night crew we have 5 full timers on the crew and we changed from a manual to a computer ordering system.. or delivers are half the size they used to be and they never ever get their work done, and he’s always asking me why can’t they get done why is it so hard blah blah blah, hes’ afraid to give them displinary notices or anything and they call out all the time, even leave earlier than the end of their shift
its very aggravating
