New Bon Jovi album

Hey,

Late last year it was said that the new album by New Jersey rockers Bon Jovi will be released in the Spring 2005, and a tour will follow in the summer.

Well, it’s apparantley now due in September, but there’s still no “offical” news on their www.bonjovi.com site.

Does anyone find this frustrating? It’s been in the final production stages since Christmas. I’ve read loads of comments from Jon and Richie regarding the album, which is going to be Ballad-free, something which I am very excited about. The last studio album Bounce had a few too many albums to be a Bon Jovi album for my liking!

Anyway, is anyone else awaiting this album and tour with excitment? Would be great to hear comments

Yes!! I didn’t know about these last changes, so now I’m a bit upset, I thought the album was due soon. :(

@ Tev Nothing new has been announced on their official website since early this year, but I keep reading different bits on the Internet about September.

Have you heard the clip of Have A Nice Day (apparently the 1st single)? It’s amazing! I would send it to you, but I couldn’t download it

No?? URL?

Just checked the official site, and they seem to have taken the link away to it. At the time it was around, it was a viewing only.

Really wish I had it, ’cos I’d send it to you

Bon Jovi’s Have a Nice Day is about racial problems in the US:

http://members.home.nl/bonjovi–haveaniceday/Lege%20pagina%205_bestanden/Bon%20Jovi%20-%20Have%20A%20Nice%20Day%20(Live%20@%20Ama’s).mp3

sounds very bon jovi-ish ;)

How annoying!! The link won’t let me open it, and I don’t understand what it says as it’s in Dutch!!!!

I’m thinking you’ve probably gotta be a member, but can’t find where you sign up.

Small Talk has killed the link, mark all of it and copy/paste. See the last part is not underlined...

Thanx for that Tev, but still can’t get it to work. Very annoying!

This from the official Bon Jovi site, bonjovi.com (Updated May 13th) : :

Gather round! As of now, there is still no official release date determined for the forthcoming BON JOVI record - nothing confirmed and nothing we’re at liberty to discuss with you all. We understand people are genuinely excited (we are too!!!!) and we understand that it can be relentlessly confusing when band members or third parties are mentioning information that may or may not come to pass... so, since this site is the Official Bon Jovi site it makes no sense to toss around speculations. When there is a confirmed released date and we get the greenlight from the band and their managers, we’ll be able to announce it officially. We promise, we’re not trying to keep any secrets from you - but loose lips sink ships and if we’re not allowed to share info, we’re not allowed to share info. We’re sure you all understand completely.

There is still no official title for the forthcoming BON JOVI album; though a band member might have mentioned a ’working title’ there has been no name for the CD chosen and confirmed; again, when one is and we’re given that info and the clearance to share it, it will be posted here in the NEWS section!!!!!

There is no artwork to give you a sneakpeak of yet - no photoshoots have taken place, no videoshoots have taken place, lots of behind the scenes work but nothing to share with the public just yet. We KNOW the anticipation is excruciating but the best we can offer is the platitude of ’good things come to those who wait!’ :)

There’s no final tracklisting assigned either - again, when the band and their camp give us that info and the greenlight to post it, it will be available to you all.

The band is going to tour! Of course! But when the tour will start, what types of venues, what countries, what cities, tickets, etc... we don’t have that info yet (and to be honest, it’s probably not finalized yet.) So we’re waiting on the same info you are; when we get it along with permission to share it, it gets shared with you here.

Hope that shines a light on things.

Cheers

Yep, saw that. :) Cool.

Bon Jovi performing at Live 8 in Philly. WOW!!

I bet they don’t show them performing on TV in the UK though!

Just on www.bonjovi.com, album is out in Europe September 19th. Very exciting. First single Have A Nice Day is getting radio airplay from July 19th.

Not long to wait.

Finally managed to listen to Have A Nice Day. Amazing!

YEY!!! Awesome!!!

Just heard Have A Nice Day on a local radio station here. What a surprise! Haven’t got a clue how they’ve got it. The announcer didn’t say it was the new single or anything like that.

I’m in shock!!! But very excited

So people are already complaining about the album title. Does it really matter? There was a comment on the archived thread re record label. Someone mentioned they’re with EMI. They’re with Island Def Jam in USA and Mercury/Universal for the rest of the world.

Where has it been anounced that this is the new album title? Just checked on their official website, and nothing is new on there about it. New tour website though - www.bonjovi.aeglive.com

Paul, it’s on their site, just not easy to see; they added it to the original news piece. “Album name confirmed...” :)

Oh yes, thanks Tev. Quite excited about the album now.

cool im really happy to see that rox fans can also be bon jovi fans...why not? they’re frome the same era and the same scool...

long life to Rox-Jovi fans!!!

Last Man Standing is also on the CD box 100,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can’t Be Wrong: it’s a great song!!

Looking forward to the album plus tour!!

strange cos iv been such a bon jovi fan, but im a little bored with them , each album is looking and feeling the same, all good and well but seems just same old same old since ’crush’

i cant believe it i loooove bon jovi and roxette so this is like coool (sorry just excited)

;)

I don’t understand how people can accuse Bon Jovi of “stealing” the title Have A Nice Day??!! Like I said earlier, it’s a massively used statement. Anyone is entitled to use it. If that’s all you’ve got to moan about, think of the people in London

Especially for Tev: http://bonjovi.aeglive.com/

A 1minute clip of Have A Nice Day. I cannot wait for this album!

And a full performance from Live8: http://music.aol.com/artist/main.adp?tab=songvid&artistid=3734

Later :o)

Hey! Thanx!! Damn the producers for not showing this at Live 8.

Check out: http://www.sonician.com/live8/list.html

They have all Live 8 performances as downloadable QuickTime movies, including 3 songs by Bon Jovi.

In the UK on SKY they showed the full USA show the day after. The song get’s even better towards the end, then the one min clip above.

Glad to see a few people here are looking forward to it as much as me!! The charts could do with some good old-skool rock!

may i yawn now :)

Have A Nice Day (single) get’s it’s International airplay release on Tuesday 19th, with the video soon to follow on SKY.

All the Bon Jovi fan’s look out for it and post on here to see who hears/see it first!!

Apparently tour info will follow shortly......

Someone mentioned Last Man Standing previously. The version on the 100,000,000 boxset was supposed to be included on the This Left Feels Right CD in 2003, but Jon withdrew it. They performed at the Borgata Show for the TLFR DVD which came out early 2004. Amazing show by the way. The version on the new album is totally re-recorded “normal” Bon Jovi style. Really looking forward to hearing what they’ve done to it. Apparently it rocks!!

Heard it on the radio this morning. WOW!!

Played on a local radio station (Island FM) which surprised me even more, because they don’t really play new stuff until a week before realise.

Very cool!

No fair! ;)

in the 80s there was some kind of competition between Jovi and Europe :)

Yes, I remember that. Europe never really got close to Bon Jovi’s success though

Wait, the international airplay release is only today?! I already heard it on the radio yesterday four times within about 9 hours on only two different stations!

Yeah, a couple of people heard it yesterday here to. Not sure where they were getting it from. But it’s all good!

Hmm, according to bonjovi.de, the airplay start in Germany was yesterday at 8 AM - I guess that explains why they didn’t wait until today! ;-)

pwbouncce: that is because they´re not from English-speaking country :(

Europe weren’t as good, that’s the whole secret.

I agree with Tev. A brought the Greatest Hits album last year and all the songs sound the same. Plus I don’t know how they managed to make a double CD of “hits”. I only know of the Final Countdown, Carrie and a couple of others. And their last studio album flopped.

yawn

WOW. Keep hearing the song on quite a few radio stations now. It’s even Listeners Choice on a local station here.

It’s gonna be big!!!! (hopefully)

P.S If you find this boring Coyboy why do you keep looking at it??

I’m so excited I could pee my pants - cant wait for the album!!! :oD

Please don’t carbon!!! It would be uncomfortable for you!

I like unplugged version of It´s My Life... I also like Born To Be My Baby.
I don´t think all Europe songs sounds the same.

Whilst the build up for the album continues, I’ve been listening to the older albums a lot. There seems to be a change in direction with every 2 albums.

Bon Jovi & 7800 Fahrenheit are typical early 80’s rock band, with 7800 being a very dark album lyrically. A few very good songs on these, even though the band don’t play any songs from 7800 anymore (except the occasional In And Out Of Love or Tokyo Road). My Fav - Bon Jovi

Slippery When Wet & New Jersey - the band have got the 80’s rock sound perfected here. Massive albums without really any bad songs. Favorite one - New Jersey

Keep The Faith & These Days - A more mature sound, no 80’s keyboards banging on in the background. More/bigger guitar solo’s (more so on These Days). A couple of poor tracks on these to, Little Bit Of Soul on KTF probably being the worse - Fav - These Days

Crush & Bounce - We seem to gone to a softer rock approach with these two. A few heavy numbers on Bounce (Undivided, Everyday, Hook Me Up), but a lot of (half I think) acoustic ballads, whilst there is only 4 on Crush. Plus One Wild Night is on Crush, excellent track! Out of the two I prefer Crush, but I do think Bounce (the song) is brilliant live.

Have A Nice Day - The first single is a hard rocker, with higher vocals then on Bounce. Looking forward to see how the album will sound.

Been searching around a release date for the single, but can’t find one. Does anyone know when it’s released. It’s only 6-7 weeks till the album now!

BON JOVI - The Latest News

Greetings from the depths of BON JOVI world where folks are working furiously leading into the impending release of HAVE A NICE DAY.

The VIDEO for HAVE A NICE DAY if complete, finito, finished, approved, final and done... it is being sent out around the world so within the next few weeks it will begin to turn up on video channels. However, BON JOVI is giving the EXCLUSIVE FIRST VIEW of the VIDEO for ’HAVE A NICE DAY’ to AOL. Beginning this Saturday, AUGUST 6th (at about 6am NJ time) you’ll be able to view the video at AOL. Keep checking back for more details on how to get to the AOL Music Area (direct link) to check out the video. It looks amazing. The band rocks. And so does the smiley!

Anyone planning on flying SONG airlines during the month of August? Check the seatback in front of you - staring out from the pocket is something you’ll recognize (NO, it’s not the barf bag!) – JON BON JOVI is featured on the cover of the airlines inflight magazine, LYRIC.

Lots of stuff in the planning - TV shows and radio appearances and promotional activity and photoshoots and magzine covers in the US and abroad. Album info and tour info and new images and website updates and big changes, perhaps the occasional return of an online function many are fond of... lots of cool things. Nothing the Bon Jovi camp will let us really share though yet (and anyone legitimately connected in any way, shape or form to the band isn’t sharing this info - food for thought when you read “information” on the internet. Remember, lots of people post that Elvis was spotted at the local Piggly Wiggly - doesn’t make it true) but there’s a ton on the nearby horizon...

www.bonjovi.com

The single is out Aug 31 in Japan, so a few days later here in Europe probably.

Thanks Thomas. Hope it’s gonna be big!

I definitely hope it won’t be a huge hit! Cos it isn’t that good! I heard it on the radio today, and it’s just D-U-L-L! Falls to the same category as Everyday...or anything else since Someday I’ll be Saturday night.

I do like some of Bon Jovi but if some people say Roxette should’ve quit around Don’t Bore Us, BJ should’ve really done the same when Always was huge. :)

Not getting into an argument with you animal, sales for Crush (2000) was more than sales for Keep The Faith (1992). They got a lot more fans when they came back with It’s My Life.

Have A Nice Day has been voted listeners choice for 3 weeks in a row on a local radio station. I think a lot of people like it. I’ve played it to a couple of people who weren’t really into BJ before, but they really like this song.

But I know we’re untitled to our own opinion!

yeah but its my life isnt bon jovi its a max martin song with guitars

Written by Jon, Richie and Max, performed by Bon Jovi, which I would say makes it a Bon Jovi song?? Am I not right?

Max has written 33.2% of it according to the notes. :)

Coyboy: Then same would apply to Rox’s YDUM - a Desmond Child song with keyboards and drumloops.

I think BJ have become more pop-rock than ever before since Crush. Nothing close to Roxette’s 3’30 pop melodies, but melody wise they’ve come up with quite a couple of fine tunes. Not a bad thing, especially if we want to see Rox making a big comeback. The market is all for guitarry pop tunes these days.

Radiofriendly Poppy Rock’nRoll is back in a big way! Thanx to Aerosmith and Bon Jovi.

Later

Do you think it was smart to release Always as a single? Some ppl doesn´t take them seriously because of that song... it´s ok ballad.

33.2% written by Max M would mean that it IS a Bon Jovi song!!

People like BJ and Rox who haven’t changed their style too much since their beginning always have longer careers. Guitar Pop will always be popular in phases to.

Stll think (and hope) that Have A Nice Day will be a big song!

Watch “Have a nice day” here: http://music.aol.com/artist/main.adp?artistid=3734#

Awesome video! I really enjoyed it.

Later

The single is out Sept 9 in Sweden, which probably means all of Europe.

when will they retire?

When are you going get a sense of humour LaMan!!!

Yes the video is very cool Carbon!

@ LaMan: Not even worth a comment.

@ pwb: Glad you like it. Proves why they’ve sold 100 million albums in their 20 year existence. :o)

Cheers

The song is now getting played all the time on the radio. It’s so good to hear them back. Plus they’re back at Listeners Choice again!! YAY

Still haven’t seen the video for it on Sky, but today is when they add the new videos to the music channels, so hopefully.........

@pwb: Apparently it’ll get airplay on VH1 from Monday....

Some more news:

WELCOME TO WHEREVER YOU ARE - VIDEO FILMED
(Thursday, August 11, 2005)

Maxing out their work week in New York City, BON JOVI spent Wednesday, AUGUST 10th filming the video for WELCOME TO WHEREVER YOU ARE. This video was directed by MARK KLASFELD, who worked with BON JOVI on the videos for MISUNDERSTOOD and ALL ABOUT LOVIN’ YOU off the BOUNCE project. Each band member was filmed alone (Richie, Tico and David filmed their footage at various locations in and around the Hammerstein Ballroom - where they’d spent the previous two days rehearsing and taping the CrossRoads show - whereas Jon’s solo footage was filmed at Smith’s Bar) before a group shot on a NYC street late last nite before several hundred onlookers. That’s all the info we can share about the video right now - it’s a LONG way before that’s slated to be shared with the world but the band was all together so they took the time to get another video done for this album... because there’s plenty of more work for them to do on the horizon!

Before the videoshoot, JON and RICHIE sat down with Richard Wilkins of THE TODAY SHOW in Australia (so look for that interview to air in OZ shortly) and also did radio interviews (XM, Sirius and syndicated shows in the US - so keep your ears tuned.) Lots more stuff on the horizon....

www.bonjovi.com

Thats good to know CB! Forgot to check their website today. Stupid!

Really want to hear Welcome To Wherever You Are. Been a lot about that song recently

The video rocks! Two thumbs up.

Some very interesting facts about the new album on their website, under “New Bon Jovi Bio”.

The video for Have A Nice Day has been on The Hits music channel on Sky (Channel 458) since the weekend. I’ve seen it 4 times. The song has also been added to the A Play list on a couple of radio stations I listen to as well

the video for have a nice day is total crap its a rip off of the black eyes peas where is the love

The Black Eyed who?

;oP

Release party at Times Square Sept 19! I don’t have the mail here, but it sounds like a blast.

Just read that. Why can’t I be in NYC then!!

lost a fan here, same sound , same look , boring video , boring lyrics. just like they were before justr heard and seen them do better.

Jovi’s management are currently in talks for the band to be the first people to play in the new Wembley Stadium next June, according to The Times today. It’s a new 80,000 capicity stadium. The band face stiff competition from Robbie Williams and The Rolling Stones.

Quite exciting!! Only 2 weeks 6 days before the album!

UK Single out 12th September!!!

EDIT:

There’s an advert on UK tv for the single. Just shows flash clips of the video, and ends with the blockhead, saying the release date. Doesn’t say at the end who the artist is or what it’s called. Strange!

Good video as always!
i’m very exited about whole album.can’t wait anymore :-)))

Europe’s Largest Listening Party 16 September, Amsterdam (Heineken Music Hall)

I had to spend the whole night in front of the ticket office, but I got them!!!

I also found out that they’ll be selling the new album next week in Amsterdam at the release party I’m going to!

Shut up!! lol

Not fair. I have to wait longer!

I’ve already ordered it somewhere else, so I won’t even buy it next week, how about that!!

JBJ is a weak live singer. Did you see Live8? He sounded so bad :( what a surprise.

LaMan: “Wah wah wah” you sound like Charlie Brown’s teacher. It’s quite funny when ppl like you make comments about bands when they think that Ace of Base is a killer “band”. So... go on... go listen to that plastic crap. I guess they will do so much better on stage anyways, it’s only playback after all.

And like I said before, BonJovi must be really bad cos they’ve only sold over 100 Millions records in their carreer. Yea?

Cheers

I´m not saying BJ is crappy band I just said he sounded terrible live. His voice sounded so weak.

I ordered the Japanese version, with three bonus tracks... yum!

Damn you Thomas! Damn you! LOL! I think this and Gessle’s new one will be my summer anthem cd’s. I really can’t wait....

Found this on Amazon. CD+DVD version: 2 bonus tracks “Dirty Little Secret” & “Unbreakable”. DVD consists of . 1. Everyday (Live In Atlantic City ’04) 2. Miss Fourth Of July (Live In Atlantic City ’04) 3. I Get A Rush (Live - Atlantic City ’04) 4. These Arms Are Open All Night (Live In Atlantic City ’04) 5. The Radio Saved My Life Tonight (Live In Atlantic City ’04) 6. Photo Gallery/Bon Jovi/Have A Nice Day 7. EPK (Video)

....now where did I put my credit card?

I also ordered the Japanese version :)

For now, I have some great news!!! I hope it stays here a while:

mms://a1450.m.akastream.net/7/1450/13345/1/mp3com.download.akamai.com/13345/mp3/2005/09/bonjovi_2005lp_hi.wma

Windows Media Player will start up and you can just sit back, relax and listen to the whole album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy ;)

Speedo

you are making me nervous too!! (and I’m not THAT big BJ fan, I just like them)

going to try the link ;)

Oh sounds good! Thomas when did you say you will get it? :P

Just read that John Shanks produced the album.. aah now this is good :D He worked for ages with Melissa Etheridge and he’s an excellent guitar player.. does he play in this album? :)

there are 3-4 nice songs. the rest sucks as well as their last two albums [this left feels right and bounce]. so... beware ;)

Got it! Will now get into it so I can decide if I love it or just like it...

I’ve just downloaded it from bi-torrent and its great!, much better than the last albums they recorded, it rocks again.

Do you like it or love it yet Tev??

IT’S F*KIN AMAZING!!!

Thomas is it worth ordering the Japanese version? where did you order it from?

Yeeeeeesssssss!

Can’t wait for tonight, I’m going to Amsterdam in 3 hours from now :)))))))

The Japanese bonus tracks are actually among the best tracks. However I believe they will end up as single b-sides in Europe. I ordered it at eBay. Probably the best way to get it.
I almost love it now! ;)

Goes to look at eBay....

I ordered my Japanese copy at cdjapan (www.cdjapan.jp)

Ha Ha they where playing it in HMV at lunch time!

I am sooooo loving this album. It’s amazing!!!! So much better than Bounce!

“Unbreakable” is the best song on the album so far, but it’t not available on the US and European albums... :S

The album is full of great songs like last man standing, complicated, welcome to wherever you are, I am...
I love it! thanxs god its totally different to their last albums.
:-)
I hope they come to spain on tour! :-)
I would love to see them live again!

Was listening to the album loads last night. The link has now dissapeared from my PC and it’s not working!!! Angry.

Don’t suppose anyone can send me I Want To Be Loved and Complicated??? Please?!?!?!

I ordered it! :) looking forward to it arriving!

WOW!!! It get’s better and better with each listen!! Unbreakable (which is only on the Jap version) is amazing, as is Complicated. So glad it’s a return to form!!!

The concert on Friday was really good and it was great to see the band in such a small venue (5500 people).

This was the setlist:

Last man standing
You give love a bad name
Livin’ on a prayer
Born to my baby
Have a nice day
It’s my life
Radio saved my life tonight
Someday I’ll be saturday night (acoustic)
Wanted dead or alive
Who says you can’t go home
I’ll sleep when I’m dead
Raise your hands
Keep the faith
Bad medicine

So, only 3 new songs :(. But, it was really a great night!

Now, I have to wait for my copy of the album to arrive from Japan :).

There’s also good news for Holland: On 25 May 2006 they visit Holland again, for a normal concert, on their HAVE A NICE DAY world tour!!!!!!

great album..
after first listening.. would point at..
Hand, welcome to wherever you are,i am ,complicated
also unbreacable and these open arm from bonus..
wondering why they are only bonus..
lets hope they will emd at least as b-side

Yeah I too ordered the Japanese version!

The single HAVE A NICE DAY new entry in UK chart at NUMBER 6!!!!!

Not a bad start to the project!

#2 in Sweden!

That’s a really good position for Sweden. Shame it wasn’t one higher though!!!!

Well the album is in stores now! After all the waiting, it’s out!

Unbreakable has appeared on the UK version, which is cool. Excellent song!

Just brought Golden Circle tickets for Wembley Stadiums concert on 11th June next year!!!! So excited!!

That’s great!

Where did you buy them?

I checked both ticketmaster & ticketline, but couldn’t find any information.

There was an insert in the UK CD with information about it and a website to go to - It’s only got information on UK concerts though

For me two songs are the standouts:

Dirty Little Secret

Last Man Standing

Surprising good album, never expected that good. Not too keen on BJ but this one i like a lot.

Only 13 tracks in Sweden... :’(

thought all the European ones would be the same! Strange. I love Dirty Little Secret now to. Well, saying that I love the WHOLE ALBUM!!! :-)))

Anyone from the UK want to go to the Wembley Stadium concert next year? It’s on June 11. I’ve brought 4 golden circle tickets, so far I only need 2!!

Let me know if you’re interested

I’m REALLY REALLY REALLY IN LOVE with this cd!!!

South Africa also only has 13 tracks. Includes the duet with Sugarland (or whatever they’re called), “Who says...”

My fave tracks are definitely “Last man standing”, “I am”, “Complicated”, “Dirty little secret” and “Unbreakable”.

The one thing I miss though is the BIG BALLAD. A “Bed of roses” or a “Thank you for loving me” kinda song. Oh well.... at least they wont get flack for that again this time around.

Anyhoos... keep listening ;o)

Welcome to Wherever You Are is the nearest thing to a “Big Ballad” on this album. I’m glad there aren’t too many. Bounce was packed with them! They said that they had made a “Big Happy Rock Record” and that’s what they’ve done!

I’m so lucky... :P Instead of one Japanese edition, I managed to get two... If anyone is interested in buying one from me, let me know. It’s $26.

T

JON BON JOVI made his debut on THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW today...

What an incredible one hour of TV. BON JOVI (full band, plus Bobby Bandiera and Jeff Kazee who will be joining the band out on the Have A Nice Day Tour) performed a medley of IT’S MY LIFE and YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME. Then Jon took a seat to talk with Oprah.

For clips, visit www.oprah.com.

Jon takes the viewers on a tour of his adopted 2nd home, Philadelphia and inroduces them to the Philadelphia Soul AFL team he owns. Jon also drives his Chevelle to a NJ fan’s home and when she thinks she’s getting pizza delivered for dinner she’s shocked (and her dialogue needs to be censored!) when she discovers Jon Bon Jovi on her front stoop with two pizzas and two dozen roses.

Most moving was the footage of Jon Bon Jovi visiting Northern Home for Children in Philadelphia - where underprivileged children have been taken care of for more than a century. Jon plays Robin Hood and suprises the kids with new clothing for school, bookbags brimming with school supplies and laptop computers. For kids with so little it was like getting the lottery.

Jon also managed to stun Oprah herself into quite a bit of silence when he presented her a check on behalf of the band. BON JOVI donated $1 MILLION to OPRAH’S ANGEL NETWORK. Jon saw the work she was doing to help victims of Hurrican Katrina and noted that she was telling the human side of the story... and knew she would steward the money and make sure it was used to help the people who needed it. Tears from everyone.

There was also a brief tour of Sanctuary Sound II - the studio on Jon’s property in which the band recorded Crush, Bounce and parts of Have A Nice Day. Jon suprised the studio audience by giving each of them a ticket to the Chicago show on the Have A Nice Day tour... and then the band performed HAVE A NICE DAY. What an incredible show. Kudos to everyone!

Some tidbits you didn’t know:
- While the footage at Chickie & Pete’s is brief in the show, Jon and the Soul players (Keith Crispina and Sean Scott) actually held court as the restaurant for a few hours interacting with fans and customers - and they really did eat!

- The footage shot at Northern Home for Children took several hours. Jon was outside with the kids for a good deal of time talking, interacting and playing with them. Once one child asked for an autograph, so did another... and Jon signed everything (including a baby bottle!) In fact, some kids had nothing to sign... so they walked around the rest of the day with Jon’s autograph on their hands! The playground shown in the piece was built by The Philadelphia Soul’s interns who were castmembers of MTV’s The Real World Philadelphia. They flew the head of Northern Home to Chicago to be in the audience for the show.

- The Dominos Pizza was somewhat cold by the time it actually got the the fan’s house - it was a little bit of a drive! And Jon really did drive himself.

- No one knew about the $1 MILLION check – in fact, it didn’t even arrive until after the show itself started taping. A key member of the Bon Jovi camp was waiting for the FedEx delivery and then ran it into the studios during a break. And when you see that look of surprise on Oprah’s face – it was REALLY that much of a suprise to her!

- After the taping of Oprah wrapped, the band headed to the United Center where they did the pre-taped version of ’Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night’ that was included in the MTV Networks ReAct Now Hurricane Katrina Relief Telethon.

Can’t wait to see this!!! :o)

What a massive gesture!!

The ReAct show has been on UK Sky already. Their performance was as good as normal. Was surprised by the song which they sung, but the words fitted in with what the concert was about.

New entry at number 2 in the UK album chart on Sunday. Damn David Gray!!!!

Something for all you non believers out there!!:

BON JOVI ACHIEVES CAREER-HIGH FOR FIRST WEEK ALBUM SALES WITH HAVE A NICE DAY – 201,881 UNITS!!

ALBUM IS #1 IN JAPAN, AUSTRALIA, HOLLAND, AUSTRIA, GERMANY & CANADA, #2 IN U.K. – “HAVE A NICE DAY” IS TOP 10 SINGLE IN EUROPE

(Sept. 28, 2005 – New York, NY) Boosted by a non-stop week of television, radio, satellite and Internet media events, Island recording group Bon Jovi debuts with a blaze of glory on the Billboard 200 Albums chart this week, as HAVE A NICE DAY enters at #2 with first week sales of 201,881 units, besting the band’s previous first-week peak of 159,000 units for Bounce in 2002.

“Bon Jovi’s record-setting first week sales for HAVE A NICE DAY is proof that there is no substitute for having the most loyal, steadfast fan base in the world on your side,” said Steve Bartels, president, Island Records & COO, Island Def Jam Music Group. “At the same time, the IDJ staff across the country and around the world has pushed open every door to insure that the new album’s exposure would be second-to-none in Bon Jovi history. All the elements came together and the results are the talk of the industry in North America, Europe and Asia. Rock lives!”

Around the world, sales results indicate an equally impressive first week. HAVE A NICE DAY was certified platinum overnight in Japan, and enters at #1, making Bon Jovi one of only three international acts to achieve three # 1 albums in that country (Beatles, Bay City Rollers). The album also debuts at #1 in Australia, Holland, Austria, Germany and Canada, and #2 in the U.K., while the song, “Have A Nice Day” is #6 on the Billboard Europe chart and #14 most-played on the European airplay chart. Overall, the single is top 10 in Australia, Austria, Germany, Holland, Italy, Japan, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K.

Bon Jovi’s “Have A Nice Day” single arrived at radio on July 18th, and the video premiered at AOL “First View” a month later. After receiving the Diamond Award at the World Music Awards in August, the band rolled into September – performing a sold-out concert at the Nokia Theater Times Square, which was simulcast via Network Live to AOL and XM Radio, and was beamed to more than 100 movie theaters across the country. Also that night from Nokia, the band taped a performance and special message that aired during ABC’s “Monday Night Football” to help the network raise funds for Hurricane Katrina victims.

Bon Jovi was seen and heard throughout September on Clear Channel Online Music and Radio’s “Sneak Peek,” CMT’s “Crossroads” (with Sugarland), “The Howard Stern Show,” “The Today Show,” and “The CBS Early Show.” “AOL Sessions” is slated for October.

Bon Jovi’s hour-long Oprah appearance during the show’s 20th season premiere week opened with performances of “It’s My Life” and “You Give Love a Bad Name,” and closed with “Have A Nice Day.” In between, Jon’s interview with Oprah was enhanced by taped segments of the Jersey native in some of the places closest to his heart; in Philly with members of his Philadelphia Soul Arena Football team; the band’s recording studio at Jon’s New Jersey home; and the Northern Home For Children where Jon donates time and resources. In appreciation for Oprah’s coverage of Hurricane Katrina and in the spirit of giving that defines them, Jon presented Oprah with a million dollar check on behalf of the entire band to aid her Angel Network’s ongoing hurricane relief efforts. The show concluded with the audience receiving tickets to the HAVE A NICE DAY World Tour concert in Chicago on November 4th (itinerary below).

A massive promotion on MLB.com – representing 31 major league baseball sites (as well as the MinorLeagueBaseball.com home page) – ran in September leading up to the in-store date. An estimated 150,000,000 visitors were treated to song previews, free downloads, a full-length video stream of “Have A Nice Day,” and access to photos, wallpaper, autographed memorabilia, contests, auctions, polls, and a baseball cap purchase offer. They were also able to register to win free album download vouchers and a grand prize ‘fly-away’ sweepstakes to opening night of the tour. Meanwhile, Smirkwatch.com provides the band’s CD-cover image to fans who have spread the image around the Internet.

A special deluxe limited edition Dual Disc configuration of HAVE A NICE DAY is the first Dual Disc ever issued by the Island Def Jam Music Group. The two-layer (CD and DVD) Dual Disc technology features the entire album in High Resolution 5.1 Surround Sound stereo on the CD layer. The DVD layer will contain five songs in-concert from Bon Jovi’s home state of New Jersey, in 2004; as well as the “Have A Nice Day” video clip, and an EPK that takes you behind the scenes.

At www.bonjovi.com, the video for “Have A Nice Day” may be viewed and fans can also hear the full-length version of “Last Man Standing.” There is also information on purchasing the “Have A Nice Day” download, as well as Realtone for cell phones, and other news and surprises.

HAVE A NICE DAY is Bon Jovi’s first album of new material since 2002’s Bounce. In 2003, the band released This Left Feels Right, an acoustic/eclectic reworking of their biggest hits. The band’s most recent release was November 2004’s 100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can’t Be Wrong… a career-spanning deluxe 5-disc box set (4 CDs plus bonus DVD), comprised almost entirely of never-before-released materials culled from the band’s extensive archives.
