anyone noticed...?

that the main ’roxette’ thread is pretty dead these days? oam.
ally77 said on March 22, 2005 07:21:
Well as I am sure your all aware there ain’t much happeneing in the Roxette world and I guess people just get sick of answering the same topics.... as for off topic (well what can I say)
ncurran said on March 22, 2005 08:42:
yeah...what Ally said
Considering we havent had a new album in 4 years and there is unlikely to be one anytime soon...theres not really a lot to discuss. I suppose because nothing is really happening people dont feel the need to visit a Roxette fansite when there is hardly a roxette anymore.
I remember back in the good old days i would always visit the site every day just to check the news, then when there was some exciting news i would come in to small talk to see what everyone was saying about it. Nowadays, i dont even check the main page and just come straight to small talk, because i dont expect there to be any interesting news, and if there is i’m sure people would discuss it in here.

You’re totally right Ncurran, when there’s news everyone comes here to check but it’s been the same thing about Gessle writing a song for some dude for the last week or something so nobody comes back as often. And like Ally said, who wants to talk about the same topics over and over “How did you become a fan” and “What’s your favourite song”....
I’m sure it won’t be long until Gessle does something, he never makes us wait too long. Marie is another story!

“All the banning”? Only one person banned lately... And when that user was banned, a new popped up very conveniently...
ally77 said on March 23, 2005 20:57:
I also guess we’re getting older (I feel it now)!! and if there is no news to read or post about then people won’t post... but like SMarie said when the news comes this forum will be buzzing again! :)
Santi said on March 23, 2005 21:05:
Oh well... I think that 3 weeks ago it had passed a similar amount of time with respect to what Roxette released last and I see it was much more alive then...
Jud (moderator) said on March 23, 2005 21:10:
and there are only 2 topics deleted in the Roxette forum page 1: one that was double and another about mp3s.
But of course some people know what we mods ban/delete better than ourselves... *rolls eyes*
Edit: now I see that the one about MP3s was only archived, not deleted. So only 1 deleted topic - and that was requested by the poster himself ;)

okay, didn’t intend this to become a users v mods topic....sorry for creating it!
Leave the moderators alone! Its due to there hard work the website continues to exist! #
Best wishes, oam

oam: not ur fault :D
anyway, it is true that the forums are calmer now, there are seasons, when an album is released people is more active (have more to say) and there are more users as well.. I guess next “high-season” will be when Per’s album is out :)
girl7twenty7 said on March 24, 2005 07:55:
@Ally, Neil, Sparvogamarie, Judith So true, so true... The most alive now are polls. No news so we’re playing games...
We have to wait until a new Per’s album, knowing him it won’t take long.
Sparvogamarie said on March 24, 2005 14:03:
I have to say, there’s not always a lot to say about Rox. If you’re a Brad Pitt fan for example, there’s a lot of gossip about him in the magazines that you can discuss, like is he breaking up with Jen or his new movie or whatever. But there’s not really any gossip about Roxette, even here in Sweden they are not in the magazines much, it’s usually just photos of Per and Åsa at a party or occasionally something they have done. So all we can talk about is the music and argue about who is better!

i welcoem the non flaming quiet of the threads now i can spend more time in the mornings after work not defending my views and simply read the forums respond n go about my day without being annoyed or pissed

@Mods, just jokin’ ;-)

Why don’t they start a new section for flame wars *evil grin*
I so don’t understand the people who get genuinely angry and upset when a flame war starts...I enjoy the forum more when there’s a good disagreement or two and I laugh my ass off when I’m arguing with someone lol! It’s not worth getting upset over people you don’t even know and probably never will. I had a funny experience in Sweden with my friend James, he had been flaming with another guy online and absolutely hated him. James and I actually met this guy at a concert and he turned out to be a super nice person. James was so embarrassed and hoped desperately that the guy wouldn’t realise James was the same one who always fought with him online LOL!

Argument of the sort that occurs here is healthy. To have your opinions challenged, and you being prompted to defend your views, is beneficial to your thought processes – it helps you grow mentally. And it’s quite fun to jack with the religious fanatics.
on_a_mission said on March 30, 2005 22:38:
@Oldag, lol. fair play.
I don’t have anything against those who like a ’Barney’ (phrase I expect only ncurran to get) in this phorum. But sometimes I find the arguments on ’roxette’ really petty, obsessive and small minded. Not that I am suggesting I have never felt such way either, though.
