The Picture of Dorian Gray

Just wanted to make a sophisticated title. Hehehe. My real question is if beauty, physical of course, is really so important, at least in your life. Does all succumb to the physical fascination or are you immune to it? Do you look under the surface even if the surface is really ugly? Do you approve of plastic surgery?

Yeah, and I thought that this has to do with one of the greatest books ever written, but no :(

Oh well, I might as well answer your questions. To me physical beauty isn’t THAT important, there are more important things.. I’m not saying that I’m immune to the physical fascination, no one is, but it doesn’t mean that it’s all there is. Besides, it’s really difficult to define what (or who) is ugly and what isn’t. I’m really tired of people who think that beauty is everything, (I just happen to know too many..)

But well, I totally approve of plastic surgery, people are free to do what they want... I wouldn’t do it though.. :)

The most beautiful woman I ever dated turned out to be a coke addict and wholly irresponsible bum – meaning that appearance certainly is not the best indicator of a person’s quality.

As for plastic surgery – in the absence of injury or a health-impairing condition, there’s nothing a plastic surgeon can do for you that can’t be handled just effectively, at far less danger and expense, by your own mind.

I feel really sorry for the people who hide behind plastic surgery, who think their look is more important than their person. I guess these people lack all kind of self-confidence, together with lack of really good friends, and maybe not so supporting partner.

Not to mention that when these people get older and the silicon and whatever else they have injected in their body isn’t holding together anymore or “reacting” negatively.. they end up looking like monsters. Is it really worth risking your health (and long term look) to live 5 years without wrinkles? People won’t stop amazing me.

But well, it’s their body, they sure can do what they want, as I can think what I want ;)
