Repeat Records - No more

It seems like the among Roxette people well known store in Halmstad is no more. Their homepage is gone and the store is completely empty, according to a friend of mine who wanted to visit the store today.

Last summer, in august, we were in halmstad.
The store was at that moment complete empty, except for the roxette-stuff.
But it was already closed by then.

Considering the prices (and also the slightly strange opening hours), I was surprised that it ever managed to last that long...
per_mson said on October 14, 2004 20:27:
I agree! Their prices were sick! I never bought a single record that had anything to do with Roxette in there. Other CDs on the other hand they were not that bad with I think.

How much usually cd costed at that closed store??? Give me an example...
purplemedusa said on October 14, 2004 20:42:
If i remember correctly no CD Maxi’s were priced under 150 SEK...
... but they had a good selection of rare items (that is if they ever actually stocked them!!)
colinvdbel (moderator) said on October 14, 2004 20:54:
When I was there I saw they even sold common self-made CD-R’s as bootlegs...in a shop :S
tevensso (moderator) said on October 15, 2004 07:57:
EMI is after them so maybe that’s why they packed up their bags and left.
purplemedusa said on October 15, 2004 13:54:
Vixz, yeah you’re prolly right... there’s somany places these days that offer the items at much better rates... and much easier methods of payments too. If I remember correctly, they only functioned on mail order... no credit card or paypal options.

That would be nice, too! *g* But I think it’s more because of copyright infringement *thinksofunofficialDVDsandsoon* ;-)
per_mson said on October 15, 2004 21:09:
@roxgirl: I guess because they did sell those illegal bootleg CDrs. Or was there another reason Tevensso?
patolucas said on October 15, 2004 22:27:
oh i think it was a very nice place for collectors, yeah i know the most expensive, but cool.
ally77 said on October 16, 2004 17:03:
I bought quite a bit on my first trip there, but then again that was back in the days I wasted money...
joakim80 said on October 17, 2004 16:07:
They are selling there records at Tradera.com. Alias: Roadhouze! :)
AntiMario said on October 17, 2004 19:55:
roadhouse at tradera??? They have craziest prices then! Only idjit would buy
tevensso (moderator) said on October 18, 2004 08:25:
Because of their extensive range of Gessle bootlegs of course... I know you all think that bootlegs are illegal but sort of allowed. Let me assure you the record companies do NOT allow these things.
Vixzter said on November 9, 2004 18:10:
technicaly roxbytes doesnt offer anything for record compnaies to get that upset about though.
Vixzter said on November 10, 2004 18:05:
yea but its techincaly nothing for record companies to worry about like songs that can be brought freely on cds in shops, and they are not selling anything for their own gain
Vixzter said on November 15, 2004 20:14:
i liked bootlegs when they were proper cds and not some home made thing on a pc
bandquitter said on December 14, 2004 14:36:
They accepted bank cheques - and that is the CHEAPEST moneyorder.
Eloy said on December 14, 2004 17:51:
I was there over the last august and I noted the music store almost empty. there were only a few items of roxette but the prices were terribly expensive.
Speedo said on October 14, 2004 19:58:
