Australian release for Marie?

This is to all the Aus-Roxers out there.
Anyone know if Marie’s new album will get a release here?
Anyone heard anything from EMI?
Cheers.

Ditroia said in a post a while back he’s gonna try and get some info from his contact at EMI OZ. So i guess we could just wait for that.
Hmm actually i might give them an email myself :-)

Any luck? Rob?
Nothing on EMI NZ, can’t even find a contact email address!
Did find it listed as a “special import” here: (at a “special price” too)

Anybody else from Oz/NZ find anything?
RobS said on November 3, 2004 07:27:
well i emailed them twice and got no reply. I might try again another time.... at least that way they might get pissed off with all the emails and actually reply with something ;-)

EMI NZ are weird. They returned their copies of the Joyride album promo to Sweden with a note “not ordered by us”... :)
Sparvogamarie said on November 3, 2004 12:58:
HMV in Sydney had Mazarin for sale, so it’s definitely possible that Marie’s album will at least make it into the country as an import. I highly doubt it will be released officially since EMI Oz suck ass when it comes to Rox. A lot of places like Sanity and HMV will also order stuff in, sanity.com.au sells some of MF’s old solo albums, check with them and maybe they’ll have The Change soon.
RobS said on November 4, 2004 08:31:
i never even knew HMV and sanity even had Marie’s albums listed or Per’s stuff for that matter!
@tev: that sounds like something EMI OZ/NZ would do!!
As far as the emails are concerned, when i used to email them about RS / TPH / TBH i always got some sort of reply even just a “your message has been passed on to the relevant person...”
oh well, it’s not a big deal ....
Sparvogamarie said on November 4, 2004 18:06:
I have to say that I don’t know if the album would be well received in Australia anyway. Even the fans are having a hard time accepting it! In Sweden it’s doing very well, partly because the Swedes wanna support her but also because a lot of older ppl are buying it who really like this jazzy style. The Swedish family I live with think it’s great.
RobS said on November 19, 2004 07:29:
Just thought i’d give you guys an update. I still haven’t received anything back from EMI Oz.
I just received my copy from CD-WOW. i gave up on waiting for a local release!! Only $22, free delivery and i received it 4 days after i ordered. You wouldn’t get a deal like that even if it was a local release.
Sparvogamarie said on November 19, 2004 07:32:
Hey that’s not bad at all RobS. I paid about $40 here in Sweden, but then again that’s because I absolutely had to have it right then and there on the release day hehe. If I waited I could have got it cheaper but that’s boring!

Ok, so we now have an answer (Refer to front page).
Not surprising really.
Good news, though, I just received my copy from CDWow. It only took four days (from the UK) and only cost $24 NZ. (shipping/postage is free)!!!!!!!!!
RobS said on November 26, 2004 06:31:
Well that was to be expected. I’m still happy thanks to cd-wow!
The more you listen to the album the better it gets!!
Hotblooded said on November 26, 2004 11:43:
I totally agree with you Rob, the more I’ve been listening to the album the better it gets, I love it!!!!!
ditroia said on November 27, 2004 05:01:
I knew that EMI Oz Wasn’t planning to release this for a while, but there may be a chance that they will decide to import the album for limited distribution, like they did for TPH 2 Cd set.
Cheers
Dave

boy, we’re getting to obscure parts of the globe now...
I’m eagerly awaiting the ’marie album release in abu dhabi?’ thread. ;)
Good question by the way, perhaps one of *us* should contact emi, if someone hasn’t attempted to already.
