Bunio said on October 10, 2004 14:28:

I heard WICF & HT (cd single) playing from a small “New age” clothes shop ,Tie dye and healing jewellery, while walking through town back when the single was released.

Vulnerable in a supermarket in Brussels (more than once!)
And last Summer I heard the whole album Finn 5 Fel in a shopping mall in Malmö, but hey, that’s Sweden :-)

In a supermarket the whole Look Sharp album... and other day I call your name in the same place
Faezdel said on October 10, 2004 18:51:
@Duncan: what is HT???
I used to go to the Internet cafe (I bought my own PC recently), and sometimes the radio was playing “It must have been love” or “Un día sin ti”. Another day, a guy was listening to “Joyride” very loud (I could hear the song through his headphones).
A nice memory: Last december, I was with my boyfriend (my ex, actually, lol). We were in his car, in front of a gas station. There was loudspeakers outside the station, and the radio was playing. And then, “June afternoon” started. It was December (our summer) and the song fits perfectly the situation. One of my best memories...

I was in a big shopping complex here in the UK called Marks & Spencers, and I heard ATAY on big rdio. I was surprised because ATAY flopped in the UK.
I had just finished shopping when it came on, so I started wandering around for about 4 minutes till the song was over. I reckon some people thought I was shoplifting or something!
And I heard Stars on an episode of Hollyoaks once. And it wasn’t ’low’. At the beginning of every episode of Hollyoaks, they usually play a song and they have NO TALKING. They just show people doing normal things in fast-motion. They played around 45 seconds of the Stars intro, which was nice... ;)

Yes, I’ve heard Roxette often in a shopping mall in Belgium, when I was there on holidays or in some restaurants. Or in a little shop near my home they played the whole RS Album.
Faezdel said on October 10, 2004 19:59:
Thank you Rich-UK. Maybe i forgot that song because it’s not one of my favorites...

I once heard “The Voice” in a supermarket about 9 years ago! At that time I still didn’t know the song (yeah, I got to know the B-sides quite late LOL) and the only thing about the song that got stuck in my mind was the rhythm and Marie singing high notes. Some weeks later I got hold of the whole song.
And last year when I was in Sweden in Jönköping there was the whole “Mazarin” album playing in the A6 shopping center; I actually bought “Mazarin” straight away there.

I drive bus for public transit. I heard one of the songs off “Look Sharp!” bein blasted out of this guy’s Jeep. I couldn’t help but to stare. He turned and I gave him the thumbs up.

I’ve been hearing Joyride in the supermarket alot lately. Last night I saw an ad on TV for carpet or something and it had The Look on it. It was changed to “we’ve got the look”.
Edit: It was for a paint shop.

Last week I flew home from Nice, France and while taxiing to the take-of-strip How do you Do! was played. Strange isn’t it. I had never heard music in a plane before.
Summer 2003 I was in Havana, Cuba and while entering our hotel Listen to your Heart was played. Funny, it thought then, but after four weeks it was still the only pop-tune I had heard. All other music was this Cuban / caribean tune.

i heard a lot of Almost unreal at the supermarket when it was out. And i once heard the HAND album playing at one of them discount stores. I’ve been told that there’s a hairdresser in town that plays alot of Roxette!
girl7twenty7 said on October 11, 2004 11:27:
Roxette - many times. Strange, but mostly Almost Unreal was playing.
Once (3 or 4 years ago) I’ve heard the WHOLE TWATG in the store. I hadn’t had this album yet and it had impressed me very much.
animalkingdom said on October 11, 2004 18:10:
Well, I have heard the entire Room Service album spinning @ Jim & Jill here in Finland...
But one of the strangest places I’d consider is the most regular bar I go to during day-time cos they have “Spending My Time”, “How do you do!”, “Dangerous” and “Knockin’ on every door”(!!) on their playlist... There’s not a day you wouldn’t hear Roxette there! ;P

Some months ago I heard Marie’s Antligen at IKEA, which is sort of normal if you take into account that it is a Swedish shopping centre, but not that normal hearing Swedish in Spain. I felt veeeery happy and told my girlfriend:hey, that’s Marie!!!
From time to time I hear all of Roxette major hits in different shopping centers, last time being last week. It was LTYH...
AURYTE said on October 11, 2004 21:06:
I’ve heard several times ROXETTE (mainly ballads) in shopping centres, but actually I don’t go there too often. And I’ve heard ROXETTE a few times in restaurants/cafes.

Some years ago one of the biggest shopping malls in sthlm used to play the whole “Joyride” album. Several times. Almost every time I went there they were playing the “Joyide” album. And “The Ballad Hits” was being played in a exclusive clothes shop.
antz said on October 11, 2004 22:23:
I hear Roxette all the time at shopping malls and supermarkets. Mostly The Look, LTYH, IMHBL and joyride)
The strangest place I heard Roxette was at the airport, can you guess which song it was? Wish I Could Fly of course!

Some years ago I wanted to buy “Halmstads Pärlor” during my holidays in Denmark. After having looked for it in three towns , I entered a record store in Hjörring. They were just playing “What´s she like”. That must have been a good sign, I finally found the CD.
Mi_of_Halmstad said on October 12, 2004 20:36:
i was in mogaduro in northen portugal. having an ice tea at an empty coffeshop. in a corner they had a small tv showing mtv. and then they did roxette top then. it was soo much fun! 6 girls from halmstad just going cray, yelling for the old guy behind the counter to turn it up!

oh on the first cruise to finland i made with my boyfriend after we got together they played tycker om när du tar på mej just as we steped on board the boat. we just looked at eachother and laughed, it was so perfect. it seemed to be a great trip right from the beginning. (and the rest was fantastic too) since that moment its a very special song to me.

I once heard “Go To Sleep” in the mall. It was so strange because that song was never released as a single.

Not a mall, but does Morrisson’s supermarket count.... MY WORLD MY LOVE MY LIFE!! about the only decent thing that supermarket does is play good music!! :) was playing this morning when I was buying chicken!!

The strangest place was at a beer-joint dive in the Houston Heights where some old redneck was having a birthday party, and he’d brought a tape of his favorite songs – and suddenly out blasts “Crashing Guitars.” It sounded so good, he rewound and played it three times.
My wife says the strangest place she’s ever heard Roxette is in the film “Pretty Woman,” because she can’t understand how in the world any pretty woman could think it must have been love, when the dude in question was a weasel-faced air head like the actor in that movie.

Last week in the shopping mal in Belgium: Breathe!!! I was quite surprised :)
LaMan said on October 13, 2004 19:21:

AURYTE said on October 13, 2004 20:57:
I also heard a few times ROXETTE on my schools radio. Also I’ve heard ROXETTE on Mexican soap operas. It was PERFECT DAY & WATERCOLOURS IN THE RAIN.

Once I heard MWMLML in local ’market’ (Anttila, Lappeenranta). I never thought someone would play it. But cos I love the song, it was fun to sing and dance thru the market ;)
Baby-C said on November 15, 2004 10:06:
Well yea since I do live in sweden they play GT and Roxette in shoppingmalls every now and then.
And quite often, when it’s a hockygame here in sweden, with the national team Tre Kronor, they sometimes play “Gå & Fiska” when someone in the swedish team gets a 2 min. penalty. That’s the only reason I get happy when that happens. *smile*

Just last night I was shopping at Macy’s at Colonie Center in Albany, New York and saw the video for Center of the Heart on one of the overhead monitors...astonishing seeing as how neither the single or video got any play here when it was released years ago.
