Brainpool’s new album is out
Written by roxeteer on April 6, 1999 to Misc.
Brainpool’s new album “You Are Here” and the excellent lead single with the same title are in the shops. Brainpool’s bassist-singer Christoffer Lundquist appears on Roxette’s latest album. Brainpool thanks Roxette in the booklet of “You Are Here” for “keeping them busy”. But on the contrary to Roxette, Brainpool boasts in the booklet that “no sequencers, computers or samplers were used”.

Another Spanish language CD forthcoming?

Following the success of “Baladas En Español”, EMI International is planning to release a four or five track EP of ballads from the Have A Nice Day album in Spanish. Included will be translated versions of “Wish I Could Fly”, “Anyone”, “Salvation” and “Beautiful Things”. According to EMI, there is a “rush” on this project.
The translations are made by Luis G. Escolar, the same person who made the much-maligned translations for “Baladas En Español”.

Next single and other plans for the future
Written by roxeteer on March 30, 1999 to Misc.
The album has now been released in the UK, but North America is still waiting for the release.
Per told at www.haveaniceday.nu that the singles released from the new album will be (in chronological order) “Anyone” (April-May-June), “Stars” (July-August), “Salvation” and “Crush On You”. “Stars” remixes are also waiting to be released.
In Japan Roxette has apparently already released a double A-side single “Pay The Price / Anyone”.
The video for “Anyone” was recently shot in Portugal. The director is Jonas Åkerlund, who also directed the “Wish I Could Fly” video.
Per has also given hints about a Roxette box-set (it rhymes quite nicely, doesn’t it :-). The box is likely to contain at least an official release of Roxette’s Unplugged concert back in 1993.
Next Roxette home video may contain in addition to the Roxette tracks the excellent Gessle videos “Do You Wanna Be My Baby?” and “Kix”.
