Ronney said on July 25, 2004 17:52:

Savage Garden is called ROXETTE from Australia. I think they would’t have achieved so much without that special sound of ROXETTE. My aunt even thought that I Want You is performed by ROXETTE.

mauro scocco? (or something like that)
First name that pops ups...
LaMan said on July 26, 2004 08:42:
No! I´m not talking about Savage Garden. I´m talking about a man who sings I Want You with Marie.
Ratata?? Ratata who?
AURYTE said on July 26, 2004 08:52:
I can’t help you, sorry. I have no idea what Ratata is. Moreover, I don’t know song I WANT YOU, performed by ROXETTE or MARIE...
DeLuk said on July 26, 2004 10:05:
“I Want You” is sung by both Marie and Per together with Eva Dahlgren and Mauro Scocco (him from the band Ratata). As it reads on the cover of the single: Roxette / Eva Dahlgren / Ratata. Hope this has been helpful... :)

I Want You has been written for the Rock Runt Riket -Tour in which Roxette, Eva Dahlgren and Ratata took part.

there’s a song on per’s solo album (the world according to gessle) called i want you to know
AURYTE said on August 1, 2004 06:48:
And when was song I WANT YOU with Ratata recorded? On which album is it?
DeLuk said on August 1, 2004 14:31:
@ AURYTE: As grisu said, the song “I Want You” was recorded in support to the Rock-Runt-Riket tour, in the summer of 1987, the first tour Roxette took part in, then along with Eva Dahlgren and Ratata. “I Want You” was released, as a 7” single only, in July 1987, short before the tour started off. The single included too as a second track a remix version of the song. Yet, the original version has later appeared also in two compilation albums, “The Record Station 5” and “Absolut Music 3”. It’s a sweet song. :)

Like a whisper in me Eva Dahlgren
I feel your warm winds coming through Eva
I want you Eva
I want you Eva
Empty street all look the same Eva
Take me home blue morning rain Eva (Marie)
I want you Eva (Marie)
Calling pictures in my mind Marie Fredriksson
When I wanna be wid you Marie
On this long distance line Marie
How I wish that you would say Marie
I want you Marie
Remember what you told me Per Gessle
We’ll always wind up all alone Per
Together Per
As long as rivers will run Per
As long as I can see the sun Per
I want you Per
Moving pictures in my mind Ratata (Anders Glenmark ?)
When I wanna be wid you Ratata
And on this long distance line Ratata
How I wish that you would say Ratata
I want you Ratata
When your nights are lonely Per
Know you’re not the only Eva
Waiting for another day Marie
How I wish that you would say Ratata
How I wish that you would say Ratata
I want you Ratata
For all the love in your eyes Per
For all the love that’s in your mind Per
I want you Per
For all the love in your eyes Eva
For all the love that’s in your mind Eva
I want you Eva
For all the love in your eyes Ratata
For all the love that’s in your mind Ratata

Wasn’t that song released in 1983 or something? But didn’t “Roxette” only start in 1985?
RoxHard said on August 12, 2004 02:41:
87?
You know on one of the documentaries on All The Videos - they have a clip of that video. Is that the actual ’I Want You’ video, or an earlier performance by P+M? That video clip looks like it was made years before Neverending Love (just check out the silly hair!)
Jud (moderator) said on August 12, 2004 06:11:
call me whatever, it was 87 :) Just search for some info through google, look at the “the look for roxette” or whatever. 87 :)
AURYTE said on August 12, 2004 06:39:
What do you mean “silly hair”? Well, fashion is changing. Maybe ROXETTE looked strange in 80’s but not silly.
Anyway, thanks for information.

The clip of them singing on making of joyride doco is ’vandrarr eit somarregn’ (couldn’t be bothered checking the spelling)... 83 was it?
coyboyusa said on August 12, 2004 12:12:
the more i listen to the song on my mp3 play it was a bad idea to pair per and maire with people who had such huge voices
RoxHard said on August 12, 2004 13:32:
AURYTE - Come on! Just check out Marie’s big metallic-red hair in the alternative Neverending Love video. And, styles may have changed, but that doesn’t stop it being silly.
By the way, Judith. I hope you don’t think I was seriously calling you a ’silly old bat’ then. I was just being my usual insulant self... hope i caused no offense.

Wonder where I can buy that song, beeing so curious about how it sounds. The text, according to ZEROT, is kind of stupid I think...
Jud (moderator) said on August 12, 2004 16:45:
roxhard: no prob ;)
And I think Marie+Eva’s voice sound great together *STILL waiting for a duet of the 2 of them*
Roxreporter said on July 25, 2004 12:22:
coud you be a bit more specific?
There’s “I Want You” by Savage Garden (1997), a band that sounds a bit like Rox in some of their songs.
There’s also “I Want You” by Roxette and Ratata. Only known in Sweden I guess.
