Hey!!
I just got thinking the other day about pop stars and how many of them have bodyguards. One thing i have never understood about pop stars is that no matter where they go they have to have ’security’ with them. I mean what do they need protecting from??? Fans?? If they love being famous then they should realise that they are going to get a lot of fans around them.

Roxette are great musicians and they have had to travel a lot but they always have time for their fans, they are never too busy to sign things and have pictures taken are they?? You never see Per & Marie ignoring fans do you? and they don’t surround themselves with big security guards.

So i say to all you Rox fans this is another reason why Roxette are the best!!!
They WERE the best, they still ARE the best and will ALWAYS BE the best.

have you ever think about fans who think that their idols will great them and talk to them and go out and have a beer...or will enjoy that they go on their property to get photograph..or harm...bodyguard are not useless...!! im pretty sure they don’t lvoe to have them arround but...its part from their lives now...if its not body guard its paparazzy...anyway i understand myself!!

Roxette did have security people during the Joyride days, when they were at their highest point of popularity. You can see it during “the making of Joyride” documentary. Some fans where almost jumping into the car with Per and Marie, really hilaric.

What i meant was that they don’t go over the top. Take Jennifer Lopez or Britney Spears for example. They go shopping with about 10 security guards and that to me is unnecessary.
Yes i understand that when you’re famous then you are going to need protection but when you have to go shopping or whatever it isn’t necessary to surround yourself with a huge group.
Of course i’m glad that both P & M have good security around them and am very sad about John Lennon.
Perhaps i should have made myself a bit clearer before. Oops!!

well it might also have something to do with them living in sweden...im sure they dont get too much hassle there, except from some of the foreign fans who travel there to camp outside there house. Generally british stars also dont have bodyguards and a big entourage walking around with them, though there are exceptions....it seems to be more of a symptom of being an american star.

I agree with ncurran. It’s a lot safer in Sweden than in the South like Argentina, Brasil or Spain. And stars usually have many body guards just to show off.
