2006, Rox 20 years! New Album & Farewell-tour!
Sanglof said on July 20, 2004 09:43:
2006 is the year when Roxette is having its 20th anniversery!
Might this result in a new studio album and a super-big “Farewell-tour”? I think that would be perfect!
New album and a really, really, really big world wide tour! Including even USA, smaller gigs ofcourse! And then releasing a DVD wtih a documentary about Roxette through its career and a behind the scenes from the Farewell-tour. And of course a concert from the tour!!
I hiope this will happen! Would be soooo cool!
Sanglof said on July 20, 2004 10:19:
:-) Let’s hope so!
Per and Marie, make this happen!!!!!!!!
PELASE!
Sascha said on July 20, 2004 11:12:
Why Farewell tour? If Marie feels strong enough to record a new album and to go on a big tour again - why should they stop after that? I think it’s either to stop now or there are still many years to come.
animalkingdom said on July 20, 2004 11:36:
Why are you hoping for a Farewell Tour?? That’s dumb, in my opinion.
AURYTE said on July 20, 2004 12:17:
I agree with sasha & animalkingdom. Why are talking ’bout Farewell tour??? It would be coool to hear new ROXETTE songs, to see PER&MARIE touring all over the world, but not for the last time!!!
coyboyusa said on July 20, 2004 12:22:
why hasnt anyone entertained the idea of eps? instead of having to hanker down and record whole albums promote them and tour, they could simply put out 5 song eps this way marie can be with her family as well as per and we can get new music more often
Sanglof said on July 20, 2004 12:34:
Actually I dont know why I’m talking about a farewell, it just felt right! They can’t be around forever, and a 20th anniversaty-farewell would be the ultimate thing!
ncurran said on July 20, 2004 14:23:
coyboy, E.Ps are a great idea for the fans, but I don’t think the record company would buy this idea. Albums are where they make all their money!

No farewell-tour!!!! (well, at least not before Per and Marie are over 70 :P ) Ofcourse something will happen...but maybe as mention earlier, a box-set with all albums remasterd, some new studio material, maybe some unreleased songs (outtakes and demos), and a small tour (sweden+germany?). But still, it’s for them to decide...I’m still in the midst of the Gyllene Tider 25 craze!
ncurran said on July 20, 2004 17:25:
well actually, i dont think we should necessarily expect anything to celebrate 20 years....25 years is a much more important anniversary i would think. In marriage it is the silver anniversary for example...i mean roxette didnt exactly celebrate 10 years or 15 years, so why would they celebrate the 20 year anniversary?
zaine said on July 20, 2004 17:39:
there will be something in the way of a tour, I am sure of it. I doubt it will be anything big, maybe a few shows in sweden, but I’m sure they will do something. I doubt it will be an ’official farewell’ either. Maybe just something for the fans to agree it is the end and let it rest, but I can’t see them ever officially stopping.
Roxlander said on July 20, 2004 22:23:
I thought after reading that article where Per talks about taking some time off this kind of rumours, dreams, or whatever you call them, would stop. But I see they didn’t and probably they won’t.
Don’t get me wrong, I want Rox back as soon as they can (and want), but if you read the replies in that article you’ll see most people said “Yes, Per take your time, you deserve it, and bla, bla, bla, bla”. I don’t understand, everybody agrees with they taking all time, and now you come with this again. I guess some people think Per reads this, and they just wanted to show a face that even they don’t believe it. Please, be honest, topics like this show fans want Roxette back, and they don’t really care if Per wants a break, or whatever else.

Oh yes, a new album “Roxette: The definitive Collection”.... a new greatest hits album...
Sanglof said on July 21, 2004 15:01:
But he’ll get a 1 year break if they retrun in 2006! That should be enough!
AURYTE said on July 22, 2004 07:56:
ROXETTE could at least release MTV Unplugged & CD with concerts from ROOM SERVICE tour.
Sweet_Pete said on July 22, 2004 10:01:
If Rox will go for tournee, I bet it’ll be international tuornee. It’s not Gessle-solo or GT to go for only Scandinavian tour...
My prediction is Rox won’t do any tournee but more like single appearances on various German/English/Spanish etc tv shows (like after HAND)
m-cvk said on July 24, 2004 16:31:
Let’s hope they make something beautiful of it!
Don’t hope they quit.

they won’t quit. But I’m not sure if they’ll have enough energy, or even if they’ll believe it to be worth it, to take it far out of sweden.
niala said on July 25, 2004 03:29:
If they tour in 2006,
We ( In Montréal, Canada ) will try to get Roxette on a big Amnesty International show with some of the best... Like U2, Sting, Madonna, Metalica.
We presently work on the concept...
richkoni said on July 25, 2004 15:18:
or just a swedish summer tour... would be cool as well... farewell to roxette in an hour... and per and marie both half an hour of solo songs...
bakelse said on August 27, 2004 19:45:
Hope for a new album and tour including germany, cos’ with 16 years I have not had a chance to see them before...
So please make Berlin roxing again!!!
ally77 said on August 29, 2004 12:20:
I know I am dreaming, but IF they ever do tour again, please do just one date in London! we got missed in 2001 and it would be nice to see them here in this country again! even if it is a really small venue! :)
joyrider said on August 29, 2004 20:22:
i guess in 2006 we’ll get the big “boxette” per talked about some years ago [with stuff, we - the hardcore fans - already have got in our collection]... anyway ... i doubt there will be something really new but i hope for someting big which makes a roxette hype like the gyllene tider-hype now ... ;)
onlywhenidream said on September 1, 2004 17:14:
@ ally - they could come and play in my flat - I mean, I live almost next door to Shepherd’s Bush Empire - we could borrow a few lights and sound equipment...I mean, there must be enough room for at least 20 of us - that’s about how many UK fans are left, right? ;oP
ncurran said on September 1, 2004 17:52:
I would be up for a gig in london....never seen them play there before. i went to the edinburgh, sheffield and birmingham gigs in 94 (cant believe that was nearly ten years ago)
I wouldve been at the sheperds bush gig in 95 but i missed it cos of some incompetent fool at EMI. that was before i got into the internet so i didnt know about it....actually i saw an advert in music week that they were going to do a gig to launch the greatest hits in london, and i phoned EMI to ask for details, was put through to the dept that apparently deals with roxette and they told me they knew nothing about it....i was so p***ed off when i found out it had happened after all.

you´re a dreamer? ;)
of course, I´ll hope that 2006 will something happen with Roxette, 20 years avensarry, why not! But I don´t think that it will be sooooooooo big. I know Roxette toooooooo good that I know the most what can be happen 2006 is perhaps a studioalbum and if they make a tour then only a small one, not so a big world tour, I also think that they wont visit germany, because the RS-Tour was more like a germany-tour.........but it´s no problem, then I come to sweden for the tour. ;)
But I still don´t think there will be a big tour, I can only image that they make the NOTP-Tour what they miss in 2002, but I don´t believe that it would be bigger. :P
I know, I´m a pessimist in this thing and I would be happy if I´m NOT right. Of course you´re idea for 2006 would be really cool and great, maybe Marie and Per will hearing you. ;)
