Spark

Here in Belgium there’s a band called “Spark”. In Belgian newspapers and magazines they’re often compared with Roxette. Spark is a female singer, 33 years old and a male singer/guitarist, 32 years old, just like Rox in the earlier days. They also have a great live band (like Rox) and greaaat music, there latest single is a cover of Pat Benetar’s “Love Is A Battlefield”. Check it out at www.belgianmusiconline.be and www.sparksite.be

I’m a big fan of them and since the Belgian musicbusines is on it’s ass, just this bit of promotion ;p

If you like Rox, you might like them to, although there a bit more “guitar-rocky”

why is everyone trying to make careers out of covering and ruining great 80’s songs...especially as of late jessica simpson she RUINED berlins take my breath away and now for christ sakes she’s butcjering robbie williams angles ICK ICK ICK ICK

coyboy: plus Britney “I Love Rock´n Roll” :)))

as long as they don´t touch Duran Duran´s Save A Prayer or Alphaville´s Big In Japan I´m not hysterical :)

Well, I can asure you that the band I was refering to is nothing like Britney or all those other cheap coverladies. Spark has also lots of own material wich is really good quality poprockmusic. But now they’re working on this 80’s project, they’re making some good nowadays versions (no stupid dance mixes or stuff like that) of some great 80’s hits. If you like Rox, you might like Spark to, even though they’re not internationaly famous like Rox.

But you guys were defenitly right about Britney and co, to many people are getting famous on the honour of good bands and songs (also roxsongs).

A long time ago I’ve downloaded an Sleeping in my car cover by Spark. I don’t know if it’s the same band, it sounds very electronic and dance.

Also ROXETTE sang covers on some songs like The Byrds and a few others.

But Roxette never made money of cover songs! Only performances, no album tracks or even singles. :-)

@ sommartider: Yeah, unfortunatly, there’s also a dance project named “Spark”, but that’s not the belgian band.
