Just flicking through Kerrang today and saw that they have Jonas as number 39 in their list of the 100 most powerful people in rock. No mention of rox though.

kerrang is a metal magazine isn’t it?

it is indeed

I don’t really know how it is that he can be deemed ’powerful’. He made a few good music videos - so what?

hes made crappy rox videos its no wonder why :)

@ coyboyusa ... if they crap what you doing here then?

Good - well deserved.... :oD

Hope to God he does a video for Marilyn Manson soon ...

@ CoyBoy - Play nice. He’s done some of the better vids for Rox. You cant argue about that. And remember, Roxette ain’t Madonna, Metallica or the Smashing Punmpkins either...

Cheers

He used to be in a death metal band apparently.

It was called Bathory as far as I know...

yeah but cummon run to you as good as it was was a bit bland for a 4th single video, thew only true standout is center of the heart, wicf putws you to sleep

@ Ally - no offense, cause I like you. But “@ coyboyusa ... if they crap what you doing here then?”. Just cause he doesn’t like a few videos, does that mean he still can’t like the music?

And Coyboy - I’m not totally backing you here. WICF is my favourite ever Rox song - and the video, I think, totally captures the essence of the song. Both are brilliant, imo.

And, watching the Videos DVD, I’ve just noticed how intense the Anyone video is. It used to always seem so colourful and pretty. But now, I’m noticing that, on the scene when Marie is walking into the water - the sky behind her is grey, but the sky above the water is clear and bright. Has anyone else noticed this? It’s like the director was saying ’nothing in the colourful life was making her happy, so she’s trying to find a way out of it - which, in this case, was suicide (by drowning)’. And then the scene at the end when she is in the ambulance - the look on Marie’s face says it all. She’s so dissapointed that she’s still alive! It’s such a beautiful and intense video - and I’m just noticing all of this now. Did Jonas Akerlund direct that?

Does anyone else think Marie would make a fantastic actress? I think I remember someone saying here that she would be in a film. Is that true? Has she already made a film? If so, what’s the name?

Oh and, by the way, Jonas also directed the Prodigy’s “Smack My B**ch Up” video - which was cool. But, like I said before ’he’s made a few good music videos - so what?’. I still wouldn’t class him as ’powerful’.

I heard that he was an “Europe” member, a loooooooong time ago... Is this true?
