IS DENNY!!!!
She helped me to recover my Internet Exporer Address Bar, which I had lost in the process of trying to install a program. It’s hard to explain since I don’t know EXACTLY what happened... but all I can say is:
YAY DENNY!!!!!!!!!!
*bows repeatedly and showers you with goodies and stuff, offers to draw you a hot bath and find you a good lookin massage therapist*

Off Topic
And as far as I can see, it’s not causing a tiff.

OKay... maybe she can help me resolve my issue with downloads... can u DSR? It would mean so much, babes!
This is the issue; The connection that i’m using has some firewall on it (the firewall comes from the servers’ side I’m dialing into - and I cannot tell them to disable the firewall as this connection is meant to be used for work - Oh My, who’s working now?)
Anyways, I’ve come to learn that I’m able to download .exe, .zip, .rar and realplayer files but any other audio/video files it refuses (gives me some shite about restricted site)...
Now my question; Is there some way I can trick the connection into thinking I’m downloading .zip files whilst joyishly downloading mp3’s?
edit| I meant downloading... downloading, downlaoding, downloading ->message to self: there is a difference, you silly tit!
Denstandigaresan said on June 7, 2004 20:15:
Damn... what have you started here woman!
No idea PM... I don’t do tricking firewalls! :( I sowwy. :(
I could try to find out, but won’t promise anything. :)
purplemedusa said on June 7, 2004 20:19:
Thnx sweeti... it’s driven me up the walls! (And no pressure; If u can’t, you can’t!)
Denstandigaresan said on June 7, 2004 20:33:
Knowing me, I probably won’t be able to. ;)
Firewalls in businesses are usually set to allow only open ports needed to run a business, and I guess that is why you can download files like .zip, .exe etc, and not music files.
I don’t think there is anyway around it, because it’s like it said... restricted. (Or Access denied?)
But mneh, what do I know?
Hmmm. What you using a P2P proggy or?
Denstandigaresan said on June 7, 2004 20:43:
A peer2peer... y’know, like Kazaa and the like.
Whatcha downloading anyway ya thief ;)
O.T: Dammit I am seriously slow roasting in my skin. HOW hot does it wanna be today. ARGH.
purplemedusa said on June 7, 2004 20:48:
well, I’m still tryin to download the darn Sweden Live! concert for the Backstage stuff (as I have the concert on original video but without the backstage shite)
... and nah, don’t usually use anything to download (just installed flash get but it doesn’t seem to help)
Well, I’m freezing me tits off right now... it’s pissing with rain & the wind is figgin cold (13degrees C - this is as cold as it gets here & damn well enough!)
LittleSpooky said on June 8, 2004 04:46:
Purp: Usually, when a company has a firewall up, it is done to protect a mass amount of computers from infection. It also screws with the ability to download stuffs. I don’t know if one CAN “fool” it, but P2P stuffs is usually how it’d be done.
purplemedusa said on June 20, 2004 07:47:
Well, made peace with the fact that I can’t download freely now -> nothing seems to work! I WILL survive!!
Anyways, DSR (Yes, babes I’m helpless again!!) my browser settings seems to be out... certain sites’ text appear unnaturally big (ie. Y!Mail & roxette.nl) and it’s been doing it for a couple of days now -> I don’t remember adjusting anything! Anyway to restore it to the way these pages are meant to be viewed (I know is should be able to figure it out but not entirely sobre enough to figure it out this w/end... hence a little assistance would be helpfull)... thanx babes!
*PM*

PurpleMedusa:
If your text size is big, maybe you should check with the menu on top of the page:
View/Text size and check the setting there.
Denstandigaresan said on June 20, 2004 15:31:
Yup, like ^ says, change the text size... that way is for IE... set it to medium, that’s usually normal. :)

@ Denny, why so quiet lately...?
well, needing your help again!! Lol! Hope it is just something small! Anyways... I’m having trouble with me scanner! She’s on... plugged in correctly & eventhing seems to be in order... well, not really... If I open Adobe Photoshop (or any graphic program) and click on “Twain” it goes into the little scanner program... the computer finds the scanner & does a preview scan of whatever I’ve placed to be scanned... yet if I click on ’scan’ it gives me some error & then close the entire scan program! What the hell is wrong... does it sound like a software or hardware problem? Hope to hear from you soon!
Hugs, *PM*
Denstandigaresan said on August 15, 2004 18:06:
I’ve nothing worth saying chuck... not that I ever did! ;) Just a little stress headed over this job stuff. :(
Could be software... I know mine sometimes previews but then errors out when scanning. Depends on the scanner. I can scan via clicking on the scanner in the my computer folder, saves going through scan program. You could try reinstalling software... or checking the USB (or parellel port lead).
Dunno other than this... but my brain is totally not with it. :(
purplemedusa said on August 15, 2004 18:11:
Thanx baby... will see if it works now!!
Oh and try & relax sweety, there’s nothing you can do right now!! If it’s meant to be it will come to you!!
Denstandigaresan said on June 7, 2004 19:54:
LOL! You nutter!
One could get big headed.
*Feels ego growing nicely*
Ah it’s alright. ;) Like I said... I seem to know a load of useless stuff about PCs, that never usually gets used!!
Glad to be of service! My bill is in the post. ;)
