Stockholm Öar Connection

Hi, I’d like to rent a place in Stockhom for next summer and I have found a good place in Varmdö. Can anyone tell me if this is another town or just a part of Stockholm? Also are there regular boats (not cruises) for connection to the centre? Eg. like the cheap boat from Slussen to Djurgården.

It’s a different kommun, so not exactly Stockholm, though it lies in Stokcholm skärgård, that is how they use to call the islands around the city.

Thanks Santi! I can mostly read Swedish and I have found out that you can take 2 hours to go to Central Stockholm.... that’s too much for an everyday journey.... do you know which is the nearest island?
