If you could go anywhere...

If you had the chance to move somewhere else... anywhere within the country you live in my case the UK... where would you go and why!
Living in the UK there is plenty of choice but I don’t know where I would go to start a new life...
Where would others outside the UK choose to live within the UK.. please don’t all say London!!!

Where is South Arica PM?? ;)
Mwhahaha. Sorry, in my picky mood tonight.

LOL Ally... not at the moment but we can always organize something... and I forgot to mention the fact that living costs in South africa is unbelievably cheap => esp. compared to Sweden. For example, in south Africa you can easily live on 500Euro’s per month (PS. how do i get that little euro sign?)... and get very pissed (to the point of passing out) on a mere 10euro’s... and I can take my drink! Anyways, I think I’ve proved my point... I’m dying for McDonnalds Choco Milkshake (under 1 Euro... yummy!!)
Denstandigaresan said on June 1, 2004 21:20:
€1 euro for a choco milkshake?? Sod this i’m moving to SA!!

In the Netherlands, I am right now quite happy with the place I am living right now. The only place in the Netherlands which also really is great, is Groningen (used to live there and now and then I visit it and it still is great).
For the UK: I don’t know, since I have never been in the UK yet. I wouldn’t choose London, since it is too big, I prefer cities which are big enough to have all the excitement of a city, but small enough to have the idea that you are living in a big village instead of a city. So a town of less then 200000 people living there would have my preference.
Delft, where I am living now, has 95000 people, and I enjoy that much more than The Hague (with over 400000 people).

Inside my country... to my home city Donostia (San Sebastián), without a doubt. The prettiest city (and most expensive) but also the place where I feel at home :D
Around the globe... I’d like to live some time in Iceland or Faroe, in Stockholm, in Canada, in Norway... you see some beautiful and at the same time cold place for me :D I love landscapes and nature and not being sweating all the time...

I don’t think I’d like to live anywhere but Canada... and I’d stay here in Vancouver the rest of my life if I could, but unfortunately, I have to move next year... )-: Hmmm... living in Australia would be cool, now that I think of it... great weather!
infofarmer said on June 3, 2004 07:23:
ally, could you book a place near the Stonehenge, just outside Salisbury, please. Need to finish the thing, which I couldn’t do back then :-)
Santi said on June 3, 2004 07:38:
I have only been in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne there in the UK, and I liked it. I’d go there :D Landscapes around are so green and beautiful and people talk in such a funny way :D
Besides they have a great team in the Premiership, Metrocentre, universities, Airport connection with Alicante...

I hate the BUSHVELD lol.
No matter how long i stay in England i will never call dinner ’tea’. C’monnn. Dinner is dinner and tea is tea. The one you eat the other you drink!!!

’I hate the Bushveld’
I’m with you on that one, Boubles - I’d much rather sip on a cocktail in Camps Bay overlooking the beaches & gorgous hunks than admiring some butch farmer’s wife decapitate a chicken! LOL
xarrrr said on June 7, 2004 09:37:

Mmm interesting post... Well living in Cape Town, South Arica, I’m rather happy where I am... got the city life, stunning beaches, well-balanced weather (not to hot in the summer & not to cold in the winter ie. no snow), relaxed pace of living and beautiful mountains & scenary... no need to move anywhere within South Africa!
But there’s a couple of places internationally that I would love to spend some time at working or setting up writting studios (not visit on a holiday - as one cannot get a feel of a place by just merely browsing through it)...they would included places like Marroko, Turkey, Greece, Argentina, Sweden (naturally but in summer!!) and Canada.
Within the UK... I dunno - anywhere close to lotsa shops yet quiet enough for me to focus on writting & myself... any suggestion’s from UK ppl?
