“Childless couple told to try sex
A German couple who went to a fertility clinic after eight years of marriage have found out why they are still childless - they weren’t having sex.
The University Clinic of Lubek said they had never heard of a case like it after examining the couple who went to see them last month for fertility tests.
Doctors subjected them to a series of examinations and found they were both apparently fertile, and should have had no trouble conceiving.
A clinic spokesman said: “When we asked them how often they had had sex, they looked blank, and said: “What do you mean?”.
“We are not talking retarded people here, but a couple who were brought up in a religious environment who were simply unaware, after eight years of marriage, of the physical requirements necessary to procreate.”
The 30-year-old wife and her 36-year-old husband are now being given sex therapy lessons while the university clinic undertakes a study to try to find out if there are more couples with a similar lack of sex education.”

While we see the humour in this, take a step back a second folks:
Religions don’t exactly advocate sex. And in EXTREMELY religious households, sex is a taboo subject. If one went to a private school, that might not have been brought up at all. It happens. I’m just glad that they have a chance to figure this out and can enjoy what they missed as well as other things.

we know that LS, but hej, I haven’t “met” such a case before and well couldn’t help to laugh about it... 8 years urhm...
I hope they try to make up for the lost time now ;)

its scarey how religion perpetuates ignorance i bet they believe in divine immaculate conceptions lol

I was thinking of this case yesterday night.. it must be kinda shocking at the age of 30-40 or whatever other age to be told that you were “created” via sex and not via inmaculate conception!
I mean, a whole life believing in something.. and then suddenly this something isn’t true .. I respect people having their beliefs but I think there’s a limit, and this is education. It is sad that some religious groups still deny evolution and other cientific/nature events/explanations ...

Judith: Evolution one thing, getting your baby out of nowhere another hahahaha. I mean yeah when I was in 3rd grade I asked my mom how can one ask for a boy or a girl and she said just ask God when you are asking for a baby. So I always thought you ask for it. That was back in 3rd grade. These people are adults. Adults live in society. Things are brought up no matter how religous you are. This is Germany (if I remember correctly) not some country that’s been kept out of the picture by fundamentalists. TV? Magazines? The word sex?? hahaha. This is just plain funny.

I am with Judith on this one.... some religious groups just go to extremes... more like a sick cult than a religion....

I don’t get it. What does sex have to do with getting pregnant? Wait here: I need to get my Bible.
