Both mixes had the songs unedited, (xcept the linking park that had its pitch corrected, nothing else). And you can hear it’s all formulaic, the same number of bars for the intro, same number of bars for the verses, same number of bars for the outro, same kind of chords, etc...

what is a REAL band these days??, I think even the mighty REM use computers for production.....maybe a real band is a set of drums, a vocalist a guitar and a bass with a tape recorder.....what you hear is what you get, would probably sound pretty shit without computers to produce it.

but hey....ppls think bands are crap coz they use computers then go ahead, you lead sheltered lives ;) I’ll just go on enjoying what i hear rather than worrying about how it came about.

I think you’ve totally misunderstood what I was saying. Look, I make an effort to read all of your semi-english junk-typing, so why can’t you make an effort when reading my perfectly decent english?

I have never said bands are crap cause they use computers. Have you never heard me talk about how much I love Garbage or Bjork? My point was that these people make songs with electronic equiptment, but not all their songs sound the same, like Linkin Park’s songs do! ’You live sheltered lives’ - because some people don’t like computers in their music? Now that’s ignorant. What about the millions of people who love classical music? I could hardly see Beethovan or Handel working on a laptop, can you?

And you’ve all lost the point of what this topic was about. ALL LINKIN PARK SONGS SOUND THE SAME! How hard is it to stick to a topic? The proof is on the first message of this tread. Linkin Park are formuliac drivel! If you could ever mix 2 songs together so easily as that, then it’s obvious the people in that studio have no idea what they’re doing!

And it’s also obvious that Linkin Park are running terribly low on inspiration! If I hear one more of their songs that start with lyrics about some stupid suicidal (for no apparent reason) teenager stuck in his room with no life, complaining about their parents or school - I’m personally gonna send Chester Benington some death treaths! How many of their songs are gonna be like ’crawling in my skin/ i’ve become so numb/ something’s in my head/ all the emptiness is unbearable/ i want to die!’ How pathetic is it that some thirty-somethings have to write such drivel that is purely written for 13-year olds! There is no passion, no soul in Linkin Park. They go into the studio, write their rubbish songs, poduce those rubbish songs in the same rubbish way they produced all their other rubbish songs - simply because their record label wants them to!

I don’t see how people who like something as decent as Roxette can also like something as worthless and manufactured as Linkin Park.
