get someone to try the danish phonebook. The hallands are near denmark. The reason being, I think Gessle may not be an entirely swedish name, given the area’s history. This is purely a guess though, you’re welcome to correct me. oam

History of the name Gessle:
Anyone believe this?:
http://www.behindthename.com/wwwboardarc/messages/30808.html
if the link doesn’t work, its about swedish surnames (a message board reply). it talks about the common practice of swedes adopting a name without the suffix. It then illustrates by example:
[Popular examples are:
Per Gessle (artist/”Roxette”) - Johansson -> Gessle
Stellan Skarsgård (actor) - Nilsson -> Skarsgård
In both cases they are allready generation no. 2 with that new name (their fathers did the change). If you change to one of these new names, you can be sure, that you’re family is the only one with that name. ] END
This would explain the lack of ’gessles’ kicking around.

Who the hell is GESSLE NARKO....

@Ally, gessle the great is a horse!
Dunno who Gessle Narko is. However, if the above post/link is true, then his name was artificially created by his father for the family. Would explain alot.

Here in Finland:
0 Gessle
968 Fredriksson.
Fredriksson is more popular name here than my own last name :)

Per’s dad changed his surname to Gessle, but don’t ask me why he choose this name.. but I think it was supposed to be unique for his family..
Austria: some GessleR or GeßleR but no Gessle :)
1 Fredriksson :S

Ferdan: The Fredriksson Football Club is from a small city in Santa Fe called Firmat. It’s has this name because is placed in “Villa Fredriksson” that’s a part of that city. I guess the name comes from a Swedish man that bought that place a long time ago. All my family comes from that city.

I know there is a couple of FREDRIKSSONS in Manchester and CHESHIRE... when I was bored at work I use to search the accounts for names! NAUGHTY!
Mine you better than others looking for famous footballers... :(
roxcyn said on May 4, 2004 02:17:
none for Gessle
but there are some close to Fredriksson
there are a lot for Fredrick (62), one Frederick, 2 Fredericks, 3 Fredrickson (very very similar!!), 1
Frederico, and 1 Frederiksen.
Speaking of a phonebook, why don’t we all exchange phone numbers?! We can all have a big roxette chat over the telephone!

dear fernando, why dont you get a decent job.... please don´t you have anything more constructive with your time; come on, why don´t you come home and bring some gt´s records, we find somthig cool in the record store.
we are waiting for you.
roxchick said on May 6, 2004 05:41:
@ roxigirl: ?????????
@ roxcyn: I think ’cos we’re all from all over the world and it would cost a fortune. eg. I’m from Ireland. It’d be way to expensive to call another fan in say Argentina or something! Perhaps some kind of web-meeting where a time is arranged to be online or something?
pietROxette said on May 6, 2004 20:07:
No Fredrikssons or Gessles in Hungary, but there are 95 people with the surname Bolyos (Marie’s husband’s family name). Not bad, considering it’s a Hungarian name :-)
