Whazz up with the repetitive'n' dull hits nowadays

Hey, everybody must know 50 Cent’s “In Da Club”...The song that goes nowhere since the first 5 seconds. Have you noticed that there have been quite a few of the same kind lately: a while ago Sean Paul & Get busy and now the major worldwide smash by Usher! There is absolutely nothing happening in them... It’s the same from the start till the finish. Where is the ambition to make something different – unless this is it, sooo dull and rather dumb!

I don’t mind Sean Paul, but 50 Cent bugs me.
I’m seeing what you mean about repetitive music though. Toxic, by Britney Spears. Now that’s a song I can’t take anymore.
stunt101sista said on April 23, 2004 00:45:
I agree Toxic is just a stupid song. What can I say all Britney Spears songs are stupid.
Why does 50 Cent bug you? he is a great rapper and has certainly earned it every penny he’s gotten.
Euro4Ever said on April 23, 2004 01:55:
IMO “Toxic” is OK
50 Cent?
That’s NOT Dance/Club Music. That’s not even Music! That’s a form of Social Expression of African American Males (and not the inellectual ones, no no, but the ones with very little education).
These Hip Hop songs are like a Contest, who can say More vulgar Words in one song, and who can use More samples of other songs (not much musica creativity here), and who can put more Big A$$es and fancy cars in their videos. There is nothing wrong with listening to and liking this sort of music. But there is nothing wrong with being an idiot and a fool either. That’s the Beauty of America, it’s a free country where everyone can be what they want to be, even if that means being a total fool by listening to some junk like 50 Cent or whatever.
That’s what I think.
Euro4Ever said on April 23, 2004 02:05:
Oh yeah:
Dr Alban is a great rapper (Reggae Style).
That 50 Cent/Ja Rule etc etc is Pure Trash compared to Dr. No one who’s heard Euro, can ever listen to American Rap-Crap.

Since you say Euro4Ever I’m guessing that ur probably from Europe. So how would you know how everyone in America is? I have to say what u said offends me. u say Americans are fools and if u didn’t mean that, that is exactly what it sounds like ur saying. No one here is bashing Europe which I for one could really say a lot of bad things about, but I’m not because I’m considerate of others people feelings and I respect them. u should do the same. Damn I’m only 18 and I know this.
U probably don’t know this but rap takes a lot of skill. U try rapping. I bet u suck-no offense. Rappers have that special “rap voice.” Those that freestyle, which most of them do, have to think up of rhymes on the top of their heads that actually make sense which means having a big vocabulary. Its really hard trying to rap to a certain beat and making up lyrics. If you actually listened to their music more u’d understand that they talk about their lives and what they got to be where they are today and what they want to do in the future. The videos are sometimes the same but it’s their dreams when they were “poor” to have nice cars, etc so that’s why they put it in their videos. Although i have to say that videos really don’t mean a thing. Sometimes for any artist they do not make sense or go with the lyrics.

@ stunt101sista
1. I live in US (Cleveland as a matter of fact)
2. I never said that Americans are Fools. Never. But I did say that everyone has a choice of what they can listen to. So if some people want to listen to Trash like Eminem or 50 Cent, they have that Choice/Right
3. I NEVER said I don’t like Rap. Don’t put words in my mouth. There are plenty of Rap performers that I’ve enjoyed throughout the 90’s:
Basic Element, Culture Beat, Masterboy, E-Type, Dr Alban, Captain Hollywood, Snap (Turbo B), Activate, DJ Bobo, ......

Why you still going on about In Da Club? It was released more than a year ago! Jeez...
Those repetitive dull hits are mainly recorded as club music... you need to get out more.
Btw, I LOVE Toxic! Hate the video - but then again, Ive never liked Britney video’s.
Cheers

@ above
I just used the “song” as an example. I just think there’s a line in music nowadays where all you need is a “good” intro. The new one from Usher is just another one! Blah!!
Toxic is yesterday already! I go out! Almost every night.

lets agree rap sducks if it wasnt for computers most of these rappers would be on death rwo instead of rapping for a lable called death row
thely r low brow unintelligent morons. but hey there is hope with bands like eavanescence, and melissa etheridge and norah jones
Euro4Ever said on April 24, 2004 00:25:
I personally find Norah Jones to be Boring. I Respect that she writes her stuff, but the sound arrangement is just.... well Boring and novt very interesting at all. Maybe an electonica remix of her songs would work for me. Maybe by someone like Delerium or Blank and Jones, who worked with Sarha Mclachlan in the past :)
coyboyusa said on April 24, 2004 15:43:
screw remixes it didnt nothing good for sarah mclachlan and besides norah jones is folk not pop learn the difference
carbon_boy said on April 26, 2004 11:07:
@ animalkingdom - Well, Toxic is the only Britney single to be played at clubs currently , seeing that the new single is a bloody ballad. Btw, it’s yesterday, hey? LOL! Funny that it’s still going strong on the charts. “Yeah”, the new Usher, is a fab fun track. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll never buy hip-hop, it’s just so much fun to dance to and to have it as b’ground music. Live a little - life’s too short to moan and groan about sh*t like this.

Cowboy just because someone is a rapper and maybe come from a different background and place doesn’t mean that they are uneducated morons. Rapping takes a lot of skill. Rappers have to have a big vocabulary. In freestyling they have to come up with words on top of their head. That’s hard to do with a specific beat. they also have to have a “rap voice.” Its hard. Anyways its 2004, catch up to it. People use computers and high tech stuff in music. Its the way the world is and its not going to get any “primitive” sort of speak.
coyboyusa said on April 26, 2004 15:28:
big vocabulary? bitch ho and slut are a big vocabulary? nigger fuck and bitch are a big vocabulary spare me if it wasnt for advances in technology so that any ” street thug” can record some stupid set of rhymes about how ” hard” they alo these ingrates would be in jail plain and simple.
stunt101sista said on April 22, 2004 21:39:
I have to say that those songs are just about having a good time. They are songs for the club. I work at a club and those are the type of songs they do. But remember you don’t know their entire cd so u can’t say that that’s all they rap or sing about.
