Give me some advice... I am torn... [to move or not to move]

Jeez... I am torn so much as to what I should do, I need some advice!

I live in a 1 bedroom house in a nice area, an area where I have lived for 26 years. I have lived in my present house for 3 years. For the past 2 years I have also been looking for another place to live... because I am going insane living here!!!

I have been subjected to 2 years of abuse by certain kids playing constant football outside my home... making noise all times of day. I have made endless complaints about this family, the 16 year old kid in particular. I am not the only one to complain there have also been at least several other families to make complaints. The people I rent my home from do not care. They have a tenancy agreement in which there are rules, this family have almost broken them all and it seems nothing can be done. All I get from the housing association is fill out diary sheets, record it all. I have done I have a constant supply of full diary sheets…

You see it does not help as my home is so open plan… my front door is in my living room.. So I do hear every constant noise there is… children I can handle… they have to play… but the football, the banging on the door, the windows… He does it more and more as he knows he can wind me up so much…. But he knows he can get away with it as well.

The family in question has a bad reputation, they have had so many broken windows from the mothers endless supply of one night stands, yet still nothing is done. There neighbours fell out with them 5 years ago and have never spoken to them again.

This kid in question to give a little history set fire at the age of 10 years old to the building site at the back of my parents house 5 years ago... he thought it would have been funny to light the JCB up with petrol in it... it was not.. It caused damage to the houses that where being built and we where evicted from our homes at midnight for 3 hours... (At the time I lived with my parents on same street.. across the road)

So you can see why I am so desperate to move..

I am not in a position to buy a house as the market is too high, so I have to apply for homes through my local council but to stay in this area is hard... as it is such a good area...

I have been applying for 2 houses a week which is the max for the past 2 years and finally 2 weeks ago I was offered a home. A 2 bedroom house in this area but a bit lower down from where I am now… the house is nice from the outside but the area is not so great… so what do I do?

Do I take a risk and move house…. Baring in mind I might live to regret it or do I stay put and carry on being subjected to more torment from this 16 year old… knowing nothing can be done…

Baring in mind I have a temper and on several occasions have wanted to smack him in the gob… (Perhaps when he’s 18!)

Help what would you do… do I take the house… or do I stay put and wait for something better…

how bad is the area of the offered house? and bad in what sense?

It’s the same area.. but I have heard that it is rough so much so drug dealers.. likely to be robbed... people seem to love to dump there rubbish in the backstreets... that kind of rough...

When I say same area... there is a good end and a bad end.. this kinda comes in the bad end....

Sorry.. I forgot to mention... I have not seen in the house yet... hoping to view it this week... but it is a house that underwent a grant a couple of years ago.. so you have the old style house with the modern revamp inside.. which is good...

go see it, spend a day in the area - weigh upthe pros and cons.
Alternatively, buy a baseball bat.

Good point.... baseball bat.. good option! ;)

Field mines could work

i was in a rather funny mood last night. Perhaps you should disregard the basball bat option. I no longer endorse this. :-)

Sheesh I already bought it... ;)

Nah still waiting to view the house... it WILL be sometimes this week! I love it from outside... just gotta see inside.. until I finally make my mind up...

Just take up baseball then ;-) Ina highly visable semi-agressive and competitve manner. oam

I’d smack him in the gob, and then just claim insanity if it went to court. ;) either that or I can come over and play football outside his house at all hours of the day and night if you like.

@ Vixzter... ha ha... I love it, yeah please do... though of that myself as 6am on a Sunday morning!

Smacking him.. yeah tempted on several occassions... still might! ;)

there are several little shits like that around our way hence the reason why I have a security camera recording my garden incase one of the little gits decides to be funny and damage my baby.

we used tohave one family who the police would go to every time there was trouble, as the kids grew up they disapeared one by one, guesse where to......

HMP ;) unfortunatley i now pay for them via my taxes

Yeah the little shit in question has just turned 16, taking his GCSE’s next month should be in studying... but not... I am guessing he will turn out just like his parents... you know the kind...

I’d move, and if I don’t like the house that’s been offered I’d keep looking.

What it matters is that you’re already doing something, sometimes the better way out is just giving up and go on to the next thing (or place) in life. I don’t think you should fall in revenge, and don’t get sick because of someone who really doesn’t deserve it. Just wait a while and then... move on.

Still waiting to view the house... getting a little bored now with all the waiting...

is he one of those little ’im cooler than cool’ little hardmen? If so, you should brain his face in. He’ll never admit to it - it would lower his street cred so much he’d never tell. get him before he grows.

’local thug bludgeoned by irate neighbour’

angry oam has resurfaced.

@ally77: quick.....ITV....neighbours from hell is on!

I know... got it on... wonderful woman is coming tomorrrow from housing association in morning to see me and my neighbour... I await what excuse they come up with this time.... In 5 years we have had 6 housing officers...

bloody hell, sounds too real for neighbours from hell. Beats gypsies and a barking dog any day. Good luck ally77

lol... she never turned up.. well she did a day later... typical.. and now is talking about taking out as ASBO (anti social behaviour order) out on the little shit involved... personally I don’t give a shit anymore... roll on moving house...

BTW, I have STILL NOT viewed the house... now it will be next week! ;)

ASBO’s hahaha the latest thing councils come up with, I think they only use it coz its yet another set of abbreviations they can use to try and look cool.

Come on... movin cuz of neighbours is hardly enough reason. Look at it this way; if it’s your only problem with your current house, you don’t have much to worry about. About the other house (besides the unfavorable area); it’s a universal fact that old houses (no matter how much revamping) comes with old issues... think very long & hard before you take drastic steps.

Well I finally go go ahead to view house on Monday.. but major change in circumstances.. in just 24 hours.. so cancelled viewing this morning... and staying here for now... ;)

Jeez.. no rest for the wicked... :)
