The Belgian singer who is going to represent Belgium at the upcoming Eurovision contest in Istanbul said at Radio Donna that she is a huge Roxette fan. During the 80ies week at the Belgian radio Donna she said that Roxette is in fact her greatest recollection of the eighties (1989)... She said she listened very often to the album Joyride (one of the best albums ever she said). The presenter Yasmine interrupted her and said that Roxette isn’t really an 80ies but more a 90ies group but Xandee answered that she thinks Roxette is more an 80ies band “cause they had their biggest hits in the eighties” ... hmmm ... Xandee herself was born in 1979 if I’m not mistaken. After this small talk she took her accoustic guitar and performed “Spending My Time” live in the studio!

Belgium had a good entry last year as well! I won’t mention the UK entry! :(

I’ve never heard any new super star saying they’re influenced by Roxette, why? Is Roxette’s music that simple that nobody takes them seriously? Everytime there’s new music stars I expect them to say they like Rox, or even know them, but nothing.

I know some Finnish celebrities who really don’t like Roxette but respect Per Gessle’s abilities highly.
