what does “I´ve done my time” mean?
sorry if this sounds obvious to you but i´m not a native speaker and i´d really like to know what marie means by this in the song. thank you.
by the way, how do you like the lyrics of this song?

’I’ve done my time’ literally refers to doing a prison sentence...but it also means, working through a labour of love. She is singing about having been in a unhappy romantic situation basically.
Hope this helps, or have I muddied the waters. LOL

I take it as she’s spent enough of her time being unrequted in her ongoing love for the subject of the song.

animalkingdom >> I also wonder what they really wanted to say when they sing:...”I´ve got a thing about you”...
Then, what does it mean?

@gesslism: The expression is usually, “I’ve got a thing *for* ________,” where the blank can be a person or a thing. It just means that you really like something, but usually you can’t easily explain why you like it, like “I’ve got a thing for guacamole Doritos,” or “I’ve got a thing for that new Maroon5 single” or whatever... I think it also implies a temporary state of mind, like I know I’ve got a thing for guacamole Doritos now, but I’ll probably be tired of them in a few months. It’s not true love, just infatuation (-:

I sometimes having problems in understanding roxette’s songs too, since english is not my native language.
guess what, I never know what “do you wanna go the whole way” means until 2001 :) although I have heard that since 1994 :D

My English sucks sometimes and I thought that the meaning of the expression “I’ve got a thing about you” is that you are angry with a person and you don’t know exactly why...
So, it seems that I get it all wrong after all...I’m wondering how many other lyrics remained missunderstood to my stupid French brain!!

It’s not obvious...Have wondered about it myself, too. Hehe, I remember once asking what the “thing” in “A Thing About You” is...You know, thought it was something concrete... :-S
