I’ve got this version of Almost Unreal that i recorded off Take 40, and too me it sounds just a little bit different to the normal version. Does anyone know if any remix’s were done of this song?? or if i’m just dreaming??
I’ll see if i can put it up somewhere for download.

yeah that sounds like it might be it??
i thought it was strange that they would play a different version only once all the time that it was in the charts.
Thanks

Ah, those AC mixes are just useless! Roxette should’ve provided good (real) remixes in the old days too...(Not saying that all the StoneBridge thingies are well done...)

i agree that ac remix versions suck. they resemble original versions so much that they shouldn´t be called remix versions themselves. regarding almost unreal, there´s an unofficial remix appearing in the “sweet as a nut” bootleg ep. although such a remix version doesn´t have a name (eg bomkrash remix), i myself call it “unreal mix” because it is half remixed. as per sings his bridge, all of the additional instruments disappear. by the way, such instruments resemble “bitch” by meredith brooks. what d´you think?

No, this AC remix is quite useful!
You know on the radio all the music gets compressed to a certain volume-level. This means that loud parts like choruses are turned down to the same loudness as quiet parts like verses. In this case it kills the power of the original song, just because of the strong guitar-chords. The AC mix stays more on a constant level throughout the song, it doesn’t get raped by the compression so heavily.
Umm, did anyone understand what I tried to say? ;-)

There’s the AC mix from the maxi-single: The powerchords in the chorus are not so prominent, instead there’s a synthiepad. And the backing singing at the end (“do the hocus pocus to me... do the hocus pocus...”) doesn’t take a break after the last chorus.
