Question about Jukebox singles

Hi, just a quick question. How can you tell the difference from a “normal” 7” single from the UK and a Jukebox promo? They both have the same call number and the same tracklisting, so how can I tell the difference? Is it perhaps, that if it has no silver label on it, and the text is just etched on, it’s a Jukebox promo?

Thanx in advance for any help.

Yes, if they only have the label etched into the vinyl and no colour, then it is most certainly a jukebox promo. Those promos has also no picture sleeve, but only a plain white sleeve.

Have you been looking on Ebay by any chance? Someone there has listed LOADS of Jukebox singles.
I only have one... or maybe two? Almost Unreal... has no middle... think I have C!B!B! one too... Hmm.
They’re about 80p to buy here. Not seen any for ages, but not been looking.

The most noteable difference in a (vinyl) jukebox single is the size of its centre hole. :)

Yup, that I meant by middle of record. :)

@ Per_mson: Yeah, that’s what stated in the book, but you can easily replace the picture sleeve with a plain paper one! But thank you for your explanetion

@ Denstendiga resan: Yeah, I saw it on Ebay, but that’s not why I asked it. I bought a bunch of singles throught Ebay from a guy from germany. He stated in his advertisement that some were jukeboxpromo’s, but when I got them, I started doubting. Now I know sure, they are no Jukebox promo’s (they have a silver solid centre). A well, shit happens.

@ n-Somnia: but sometimes there are singles with push-out centres, and if the owner before you, pushed it out, you can’t tell the difference!

Thanx all for you help!!

@mdekort: Well, that is not really true. The normal 7” from UK has a different colour on the label. It is only the jukebox single that is pure “vinyl coloured”. Then as you can see in the book there only exist 4 different of them.
