But in the article you can’t read anywhere that Roxette will return in 2005... only in the title :S

mh... I don’t know if I should believe that one... It would be great though but I think if Marie releases a solo album this year the new Rox album won’t be out before 2006 (talking of experience... s-: )

this article sounds like a translation of the last words from Per about Marie’s album + Roxette (I think from Expressen, read fronpage) where he said Marie’s “Half way” with her album and Rox to be back in 2005...
Anyway, we already know that when they say “new album will be out in xx” you have to expect to wait at least half a year or 1 year longer :P

sometimes I really think, per lost the inspiration for roxette. in the 90’s roxette was his one and only, he was really hard working for it. and now, I don’t know why, I think he is too tired to punch roxette into the international charts . . .
but, hey, don’t think, I don’t want per and marie to be roxette! I love them! And if it’s true, that they will be back 2005, I will be the first one, who buy their new stuff!
Rox you and have a nice day!

@Neverending: I think you are right. Maybe Per is not so determined anymore to bring Roxette in the international charts. I mean it is not about not wanting to do it, but there are too many things involved here that are not depending upon his concrete willness. It is not only the inspiration...I don’t know exactly why, but Per (and maybe Marie too) tends to treat Roxette in a different manner from his solo (swedish) stuff - one of the reason may be the language and another reason may be the lack of the courage to do a thing in his very own way and show it to the whole world. Producing a Roxette album in the manner in which Mazarin was produced would have sound as being a “scandal”. For some reason, the Roxette material “needs” to be OVER-produced in order to be in world’s charts. Maybe Per is right. Maybe only U2 or REM can “afford” to come up with a very natural sound that send the listener to the bands’ very roots. Maybe Roxette could not afford that. But my conviction is that Per has to try a little bit harder and dare to show to the whole world how good is he (and Marie) when they are not trying to look different than they really are. I still think they are the best in the world. If they’d die tomorrow I’d keep the feeling that the posibility of being the most played band in the world was very logical and didn’t actually become reality only because of some unfortunate conjectures. I think they deserve more. Maybe we’ll see more.

Most likely Per will start to record for Roxette after the Gyllene tour next summer. I’d bet for Roxette’s comeback in late 2005.

and what about the Night Of The Proms? any chance they will ever perform there?

Here’s a direct link to the “article”: http://www.mic.stim.se/avd%5Cmic%5Cprod%5Chitfacts.nsf/WebNewsHidden/6C2...
However, I’d say that nothing is certain yet. It’s still a long way to the year 2005. Per and Marie may have discussed their plans and Per probably has new material for Roxette, but a new Roxette album in 2005 is not something you can take for granted.
