converter, it is an simple tool, that makes only one thing. CONVERTS from one type, to another.

virtual dub is an awsome tool, which can do much more.

i think, that you know, that every video file found on the net, is compressed. virtual dub can decompress it, frame by frame. it means that you will get BIG, uncompressed file [just like every single frame was a bmp file]. than you can compress it again, into another format ;) for example, from WMV to MPG ;]
