Ukraine flag is blue and yellow because those vikings that came there were from Sweden, and well, everyone here should know the colours of the Swedish flag. While Norwegian and Danish vikings went around in the Atlantic and even the Mediterranean the Swedes went the other way.
I’m not sure but could be that even the city of Kyiv (or whatever is written) was founded by the Swedes...

Some time ago I even found out that they use some words that could be swedish.. I love this, history, knowing where people come from, where words/ culture.. come from :)

Btw, to sth else but related to Swedes/nordic beliefs, I read somewhere that the story in Lord of the Rings (the middle earth and all) has some swedish/nordic beliefs background, gotta find that link again.

What I believe is that Sweden has something, it must be the power of the nature, gods? take what you want, but why is it that once you have been to that country, you MUST go back? I even read this in a couple of guides, most of the people I know who have visited the country feel like this.. ain’t it mysterious? ;)

The vikings are very interesting, i never knew that about the flag cool. i always thought Lord of the rings were set in York’shire’ england ( were i live ) cos most parts look like the country side were i live plus the hobbits live in the shire LOL. My niece is called freya isnt that a nordic name ? and im gonna book my trip to see the arora lights in norway soon aswell anyone been to see them ??
