why is everyone buying the new ROX DVD??
arnie said on December 31, 2003 19:26:
That’s embarrasing....!!
How could they release an english documentary in several non-english countries without subtitles! Do they know that people may not understand it?
It’s like a movie...

Ermmm I want it... regardless what the cover looks like, regardless of what’s on it.. I am just gonna buy it... faults and all!!

@darkblade: The previous DVD was released only in Europe, and in PAL-B format.
For people like me, from South America, was far too difficult and _expensive_ to get the previous DVD. Apart from that, many TV sets arround here aren’t PAL-B capable (i.e. here in Argentina we have PAL-N), so even if you get the old DVD, it will play in B/W.
So, the new DVD is an excellent opportunity to have most of Roxette’s videos, in all major local music-stores, where we can buy it by cash, or paying with a local credit card (even in several montlhy-payments), in a format that certainly will work on every TV.
And the price is quite reasonable, aprox. euro 15.-
So *many* people is buying this DVD just because the previous one wasn’t available for us.

yes! good answer.i’m from Argentina too it‘s a good opportunity for all of us.

There are some people that were not lucky enough to have the DVD released in their home country. Take me for example, I’m from Canada and had to have the DVD imported. I could watch it, but only on my computer. Sometimes I don’t feel like sitting at my computer and watching the videos. Sometimes I want to sit on my couch and watch the videos while relaxing instead of sitting at my uncomfortable computer chair. Is this a stupid reason for buying a DVD with videos on it that I have already? Sure it is... I’m also going to buy the Per DVD and I don’t understand a word of Swedish. Is that stupid too? Yeah... it probably is but it’s also what I call “being a fan”.
thecla said on December 13, 2003 02:01:
got it so i could watch it on the tv as i lounge with my remotes around me and a nice glass of wine in my hand.
i’m in the us, so i can only see my copy of AVEM on the ’puter, so this is still good for me, flaws and all - though i’d have like a better product.
thecla said on December 13, 2003 02:04:
@irvye - i don’t think you are stupid at all to send for per’s dvd - i have marie’s, and i don’t know any swedish.
buy what makes you happy - sometimes it’s worth sitting at the uncomfortable computer.

Another DVD thread. . . glad to have the DVD as the other was not released here in the US. A lot of those videos I hadn’t seen since they were out originally, and of the 37, I’d only seen about 11.

It seems like some people are so ignorant and I don’t want to use the word but don’t have the ability to think things before opening their mouth. As so many other people who don’t live in Europe mentioned, we did NOT get the DVD here in North America, South America and .... My mom brought it over from England and I haven’t been able to watch it since PAL doesn’t play in here. Somehow, the pc’s I tried it on couldn’t play it either. Please realize that Europe is not WORLD. DID YOU GET IT?
harriej said on December 15, 2003 18:49:
Stupid question on a Roxette-forum.
Because we like Roxette off course.
Santi said on December 15, 2003 20:46:
I never bought the previous one because I had no DVD player, but now that I do, I buy this.
Besides, if you look closely, it has less clips than the other... (The new was actually cheaper than the other in the shop where I bought it, by the way).
royalball said on December 22, 2003 05:22:
Because we’re rox fans! I think I’ll buy the PAL version because I’m hearing problems about the NTSC though.
Scoll said on December 28, 2003 08:15:
I’m not sure if some of you guys have bought the first DVD and found you couldn’t play it because your player didn’t play that region what ever it was 2 or 4 I can’t remember, but I’ve since found out you can make almost all DVD players region free or multiregion, by entering codes with the remote and so on.
just visit here to read more and check for the codes for your player.

Hej people!! I am new here. The Brazilian EMI DVD has defects, and no subtitles. I would like to know if it happens with Argentinian EMI as well.
Sorry my English

Do any music videos have subtitles? :S ALL ntsc copies of the DVD will have defects, will they not?
Starrox said on December 28, 2003 14:32:
@Scoll: The AVEMAM-DVD’s codefree anyway, it was “just” the PAL vs. NTSC-problem...
Chaghi said on December 29, 2003 13:42:
Yes DiRox, same here in Argentina :(
Poor quality, no subtitles, and an ugly audio / video sync problem in the documentary.
We’re still waiting for any “official” words from EMI Odeon Argentina.
coyboyusa said on December 31, 2003 16:37:
ok kiddies, after a 5 day delay due to lack of inventory amazon sent me a copy of the NTSC roxette dvd from canada. Let me start by saying this, maybe the peopel with the PAL dvd’s need to get on emis case cause the only and I mean ONLY flaw with the dvd is the 5second out of sync audio in really roxette. The supposed VSH quality on the earlier videos and making of joyride are not existent, in fact they surpass the videos I have. The dolby 5.1 audio is a big improvement over the earlier dvd, I think you guys are incredibly over critical or u’ve gotten a soddy lot of dvd’s in europe :)
Jud (moderator) said on December 31, 2003 17:50:
well a 5second sync mistake would be enough for me to b pissed, esp. because they managed to do it right the first time ;)
Denstandigaresan said on December 31, 2003 19:32:
As far as i’m aware, none or VERY few music DVDs contain subtitles. Whether they contain a ’movie’ or not.
DiRox said on January 1, 2004 15:31:
I have the DVD ROXETTE * LIVE-ISM that I bought for R$18,00 only, here in Rio, and has subtitle in portuguese and the sound has NO defects. Now the DVD Balad & Hits that are about R$52 or more has “special defects” and no subtitles... I think that english subtitle at least should have in the DVD.
Does the other DVD (All videos ever made and...) have the same problems?
Denstandigaresan said on January 1, 2004 15:44:
The first DVD doesn’t have defects... as doesn’t the Pal version of the new one as far as I am aware.
tevensso (moderator) said on January 1, 2004 16:16:
@coyboy: The NTSC version is really in 5.1? Because the PAL version definitely isn’t. :(
Junkie said on January 1, 2004 16:25:
I’m not buying that new DVD. It’s unfair. They try to get any free penny from their fans! If they do really need money, they could have released MTV-Unplugged on DVD (I know, there’s a bootleg) or Live-ISM, - that would be absolutely fantastic. But after releasing 8-th “Best of...” and just other same DVD.... No way, Mr. Gessle!!!!! I do respect you indeed, but for this DVD you won’t get a penny from me!!!
Denstandigaresan said on January 3, 2004 21:17:
Bootleg, not suppose to be released.
Or did some countries get it officially released? :S:S
darkblade said on December 12, 2003 16:56:
why are u buying it??? just because of the cover???
what do you mean with 10 extra clips??
there are only 2 new videos if we compare it to the previous DVD??
is there a way to get those 2 videos, anyone has them??
