I really can say i’ve never found anyone as witty as MM... To quote Crush(Finding Nemo) YOU TOTALLY ROCK... DOOOOOOD! ;)
MiracleMan said on November 29, 2003 02:04:
Well it’s about damn time!
Oh, sorry! *searches for humility and graciousness. . . found it!*
Golly, I’m so tickled I think I may vomit.
Actually I have laughed so hard I’ve vomited. And on the way to the toilet I broke my toe on the door jamb, so that between spewing and laughing, I was groaning in agony. An interesting triad of emotional and physical pain. I recommend it highly.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. :D Thought I’d have to be here for donkey’s years before I saw this happen. Now I feel like I’M the prettiest one in TDR. ;)
*I’ve now shouted “I GOT MY OWN THREAD” so many times and so loudly, the neighbors called to congratulate me. And threatened to call the police if I don’t quit.
Needless to say, I feel honored.
Anarem said on November 29, 2003 02:11:

who are you MM? How old are you may I ask? Are you a fan since Joyride? I like your humor.
MiracleMan said on November 29, 2003 18:59:
I’m old enough to know better, and young enough not to give a sh*t.
And I’ve been a fan since Look Sharp! was released. So that makes me *gets out a calculator*. . .carry the 4. . .times the square root of 5,882. . . well that can’t be right.
Anybody know how to use a slide-ruler?
MiracleMan said on November 29, 2003 19:29:
NOW I feel really old. Thanks Zaine. :s
Appearently it’s a now antiquated measuring device that no one’s heard of. I think engineers use it—not the train drivers—but the folks that construct buildings and the like.

In other words, you been a fan for about: 14 or 15 years now.
kachina008 said on November 29, 2003 22:04:

seems like you might have an admirer there miracleman, you magnificent bastard.
MiracleMan said on November 30, 2003 17:28:
Spooky—I knew SOMEONE would know what that was! I’d’ve referenced that Foghorn Leghorn with the widow’s son—the one where they play hide and seek. . .but I’m not sure that would have made a difference.
And from 89-now. About 14 years. Sounds about right. When I tried it I think I forgot to divide by the Renaissance and add .005 for the Reformation. How could I have forgotten Martin Luther? I babysat his kids.
And I DO have a “slide ruler”, and the rumor is that beautyqueen has a “slide ruler”. . .*wink wink*

I never liked Hey this Hey that but tonight as I am not very ready for my final exam which is taking place at 9:00am on Saturday morning, I decided to check this out as I like MM’s sense of humour alot. Very different you are I should say.
As for slide ruler, I believe slide ruler is one of the most useful tools in drafting. These days, drafting is done not by hand, but on the computer which is much more accurate. Slider rulers rock though. I have one and so many people have begged me to sell it heehee. I don’t think I am that old either.

I think I’m finally waking up. I turned the TV on and left the chanel on SpiceWorld. It’s finally dawning (no pun intended) on me that I’ve been watching SpiceWorld. But now I can’t find the remote. This is not good.
Damineh—Now that you mention it, my father taught Design Drafting for many many many years. I think I’ve actually played with one of those. It’s been years.
And for Pete’s sake, would someone change the chanel.
DaminehGessle said on December 7, 2003 02:30:

MiracleMan said on December 9, 2003 18:47:

And as my voice is almost gone, I can’t wait to try to sing something. I have a vocal range of about a quarter of an octave. Anything higher sounds like I’m trying to sing so only dogs can hear. Should be fun. . .

ROXIE! *gagging on the cloud of Lysol* I was just wondering what happened to you. And this flying of which you speak. . .was this home for the holidays or a proper vacation? Do tell.
As for the illness, I’m over it, except for a low grade sort of congestion, minimal phlegym, nose running, and a vague memory of a cough every so often. I did loose my voice for over a week and a half—at least it sounded like I was smoking three packs a day/going through puberty/some sort of pet chew toy. . .it’s back for the most part, but my singing voice sounds like Janice Joplin after twelve hours of straight singing. At least in the upper registers. So that’s the excitement with me. That and the quickie wedding. And the Pope thing. (Damn! Forget that again.)

This day—as beautiful as it is outside—I’ve spent the bulk of trying to get this damned computer to function properly. I love Macs, but the OS9 system is f*cked six ways from Sunday and I don’t have the fix-it programs and won’t until I get it from work Monday.
BUT, I finally got the damned thing open in OSX and got the internet function to working properly.
At the moment I’m TRYING to relax. Got SOAP playing, but it’s hurking every so often and it’s drinving me a little insane. May have to go to a CD player.
Talk about a week(end) of 4 Thursdays.
How about you?

Spent ALL daytime Saturday trying to fix the computer by doing everything by any method possible. . . finally had to reload the software and now everything is happy. Had to wait til today to contact the internet provider to get domain numbers, etc. I did have a mothereffer fit sever times, though.
All is well. For now. We’ll see if it all goes to shit again when I try to switch to OSX (which precipitated the Saturday aggrivation).

I’m guessing all the other moviegoers are going to be plunking down for Saw III. I will be giving that a pass. Saw was sorta OK the first time, Saw II was laughably ridiculous, so I have no inclination to watch a third go round of the same old crap.

Sheba! How are you?! Have you found any rootbeer there in The Netherlands? Do we need to ship you a bottle of Barq’s or A&W?
I’m doing pretty well these days, thanks for asking. One year anniversary coming up at the end of next month, so I’m trying to settle into the idea. But I’m well, all in all. You?
Need to get dressed, as I’m starkers at the moment. The things you do when you JUST want to check movie times on the internet while you’re getting ready. Then again, I put Efter Stormen on the CD player while I booted the computer, so I must have thought I’d be a while.
När Vindarna Vänt is up, so it HAS been.

I’ve seen enough Saw no more. After a while all those horror films are just recycled crap, and most were schlock to begin with. Never was a big horror film fan anyhow, and if I see one, it needs a clever hook or to be above average. Give me a good psychological thriller anyday.
The film I’m WANTING to see The Prestige. I called my buddy today, knowing he wants to see it too, but he gave me one of his ho-hum, “I don’t wanna see it today. . .how ’bout tomorrow” bits. Drives me up a wall. I get all in the mood to see a film—Saturday being the perfect day to do it, because I’d rather laze around on Sunday—and he poops out on me! And I would go see it alone, but because he wants to see it too, I’d feel guilty—or he’d make pointed asides about not getting to see it.
He’s the sort of person who won’t go to a movie alone either. Drives me mad. If you want to see a movie, GO! Don’t stay home just because no one else wants to see what you really want to see. I’d be SOL for half of my cinematic forrays if I didn’t just go. I think he believes people will think he’s pathetic or lonely. No, it means you had the opportunity to see a film you wanted to see. Crazymaking, I tell ya.
So hopefully tomorrow His Highness will be in the mood for it. If not, I’m going, guilt be damned.

MM I’m doing well, as well as can be under the circumstances (writing thesis)....I found rootbeer!!!!!! But it’s in this retail store (like Sam’s club or BJ’s) which I can’t get an account for. Incidentally it wasn’t so nice either, so crateful of Barq’s sounds soooo gooooood ;D
sending you an email now ;)

I did see and I really liked it. MUCH better than The Illusionist. It’a a nasty little film about revenge and oneupmanship. Good performances, good plot, good tone, surprisingly humorous—I definitely recommend it. (And yes, my friend did go, but if he hadn’t been “in the mood” for it, I’d’ve gone anyway.)
And I did see The Omen when it was in theatres, and I liked it too. Nothing great, but enjoyable.
Sheba: Got the email, and I’ll get to it after I get out of the forums. :)
