Thankful for. . .

Since the US is about to roll through another Turkey Day this Thursday, it’s the traditional time when we declare—however ridiculously sappy it may sound—what we’re thankful for in our lives.
I usually roll my eyes at this, but this year’s been a crappy one for a lot of folks.
Me, I’m most glad that my twin brother—yes there is another—is doing well and may get to come home from the hospital soon. It’s been a worrying three weeks for my family, but the corner’s been turned *knock wood*, and our hopes are once again bouyed.
Anyone—not just the Americans—anyone else?

hey, I hope that your brother is okay, MM...
well, I’m indonesian, but in the area I live we have Thanksgiving too. it’s on different month.
anyway I’m very grateful that I have someone who always look after me, love me, and let me be the way I’m...

Our thanksgiving was last month, the Canadian thanksgiving I mean. I don’t believe in calling a particular day Thanksgiving as I wasn’t rained here. I thank God or whoever or wharever that power is for every second I live on this planet. It might not be a smooth and pleasant journey but it sure is worth living. I am almost healthy, have a great family who are always there for me, am smart to some extent and am not hungry. I wish I could be of help to my mankind but since I am too young to be of any help, I hope to be of help at one point in my life since that’s been my plan eversince I was a kid. I wish you all the bests in every second of your life.

Not so much into the thanks giving day.. don’t know much about it, so if it has some religious origin/meaning, the following has nothing to do with god ;)
i am just thankful for being here and happy, which is the most important thing :) Thankful to have Connie by my side, having the chance to work with my fave artist Eva Dahlgren, finally have a job even if for a short time, for having the family I have, the friends I have.. does it sound like I am happy? Yes, I AM :)

@Judith—there’s a religious meaning burried deep in the holiday, but most Americans don’t celebrate the day with that in mind. You got the point of my post, and responded well. Continued happiness.
I’m also thankful for close friends that have come through this year. One had a brain tumor removed, but is healthy and well now. Another endured the murder of her father-in-law and then the grief of a nasty divorce a few months later, followed by a 2000 mile move—halfway across the US—and has come though that fairly well. And yet another survivied a(n albeit half-hearted) suicide attempt and is living life more fully. So all in all, there’s reason for me to reflect this year, more so than most of the rest of my life.
Cheers all.
