Coyboy: AND HE WAS CLEARED OF ALL WRONG DOING!
For those wondering, coy is referring to Peter Townshend. The claim was that he was downloading kiddie porn. He WASN’T. Police NEVER found any on his computer OR in his home OR possession. What they found were websites. Now, he HAS been CLEARED of all charges, but according to British Law, he has to be registered on the National Sex Offenders List for a minimum of 5 years.
Mr. Townshend claimed abuse in the past by his father and has been using his resources to SHUT DOWN kiddie porn sites. If I had the money, I’d do it too. So if that makes me guilty of having kiddie porn, so be it. But it says a lot when there’s no concrete proof against Mr. Townshend and he still has to be registered.
Coy, I WISH you would get your facts straight before opening your mouth. You make the rest of us Americans look bad.

“Lots of time to think. I feel desperately sad for Michael Jackson. Everybody seems to assume he’s guilty already, but it’s certainly hard for me to believe this boy has a single bad bone in his body. I haven’t had any significant contact with Michael for some years (aside from a brief conversation at Liza’s wedding, which sadly turned out to be doomed). But the Michael Jackson I know would be incapable of any kind of ‘attack’ on a child. I notice the little boy in question was suffering from cancer – it’s easy to imagine a generous (and naive) MJ feeling a great call to help. And forming a friendship might be totally innocent, but could be (perhaps deliberately) misconstrued to bring him down. I shall definitely be considering him innocent until his guilt is proved to MY satisfaction. I don’t trust anybody’s motives these days – at least no-one who can make money or attain power by causing pain to others.
Now Michael Jackson, who has worked his whole life to make music that made the world dance – him, instinctively, I trust.
Love,
Brian”

“My God - what has happened to the world? Where did our ’civilization’ go? “Innocent until proven guilty”? And this vindictive woman wants to take a man’s children away from Michael Jackson before the trial has even started, let alone been concluded with a verdict which would justify such a course???
In thin in international law this lawyer ought to be arraigned for 3 attempted civil rights violations. The civil right of every child is to have the access he or she needs to both their parents. I think it’s high time this was taken seriously in this country too, with so many separated mothers making a mockery of the law by denying their children the right to see their father. To my mind, this is a vicious and unforgivable crime against the child.
Appalling misuses like this make me want to be a politician – but Heaven knows where that path leads – does success in that arena require being as corrupt as the rest of them?? Ye Gods.
Love
Brian May”

animalkingdom: I have a new respect for you. When we were arguing the case with a few classmates the other day, the brought up the fact that kids sleep in his bed. I said: so??? What does that indicate? They said who sleeps in a 45-year old’s bed? What do they do? I said you think whoever sleeps in someone else’s bed should be doing things with him? So they started arguing and then I said: You know what? You all think I am an angel I don’t have a boyfriend so I don’t do shit. YOu all know me as who I am, kind, helpful, there for all of you in need and .... How would you react if I tell you I have guys sleeping in MY bed beside me all the time? How would you react if I tell you I have had my friends staying over at my house, sleeping in my bed overnight? Would you think I am a wh*re? Would you think I am having sex with each and every one of them? No. Cause we don’t even go there. We don’t dare thinking about it. It’s friendship. If you are pure inside, you don’t think of anything other than friendship. This makes me uncomfortable hanging out with my friends, hanging out with any guy I want to be friends with. And I went on and on.... They shut up.
That’s what I believe in. And I believe what I quoted from Brian. It’s a stupid crazy world filled with people who have no sense of judgement and when they judge, ... It’s sad!

I am not sure MJ is guilty or not but I think the parents of this child should be charged with reckless endangerment. No one who loves his/her child would leave that child alone, over night, with a 45 year old man who has, in the past, been accused of abusing kids! They set the kid up (and maybe set up MJ) for money.
I also think MJ needs someone in his camp to tell him to smarten up. Even if he has done nothing illegal, his actions are setting him up to be charged.

Ok I’ve been keeping myself from posting this but what the hell...
My opinion? Well, I find it VERY suspicious that this thing pop ups NOW. For me it’s just a huge SMOKE CURTAIN.
How’s that? Well, Bush is in the UK and oh my, things didn’t go as planned. The streets are FLOODED with anti-Bush demonstrations... I mean, English citizens against Bush! Mother nation against his own son!
Of course, none of the american networks (CNN, CBS, FOX and NBC News) showed those events to their american viewers. And now this whole Michael Jackson thing is going to be in the media until the elections. Did I hear someone say “RE-ELECTION”? Uh?
It’s not a new thing. Remember when during the Clinton administration the US attacked Iraq for NO REASON and destroyed civilian objectives? Well, the whole Lewinsky scandal popped up.
MiracleMan said on November 27, 2003 00:54:
@MARKUZ: The US newmedia—papers, television, radio, you name it—ALL WITHOUT FAIL showed the demonstrations in England: the planned march, the march, the throngs of protesting Brits, the toppling effigy, including interviews with the demonstrators themselves—THE WHOLE BLOODY THING—THE DAY it happened and for days after.
Perhaps you should be in the US watching the television, listening to the radio, or reading our papers before you make a sweeping statement the we had no idea what went on with our President in your country.
And to think that the raid on Michael Jackson’s home and his subsequent arrest has anything to do with the US not knowing what’s going on in your country is off the radar conspiracy paranoia. It’s also incredibly insulting. To think we in the US are ignorant of the world and blindly agree with everything our government tells and shows us—and that we are that easily distracted—is also unbelievably insulting. And for that matter, Tony Blair is catching all sorts of hell for dragging the United Kindom into the war, just like Bush.
Clinton got called on the carpet by the US for that Iraq attack here too, by the way.
Michael Jackson is criminally charged with child molestation because a child reported it and the police acted on the allegations with an investigation, a home search, and a warrant for his arrest. It has nothing to do with re-elections or misdirection the public’s attention away from protests. There’s no second gunman here.

Of course it’s easy to distract people at the moment. Worldwide people are tired of the news we got presented over the last few months. This scandal makes people talk about something different, everyone will have an opinion on something that doesn’t affect our life, which is way easier than dealing with more important issues.
How can you be so sure that Markuz is wrong? How difficult would it be to find one family from all those kids who ever slept on the Neverland Ranch to sue Michael, knowing that you can get a great amount of money out of it. It’s probably the BEST scandal you can possibly have, guaranteed to stay in the news for a couple of months and the best thing, you don’t even have to prove he’s guilty...
It’s all so convenient. Days after you announce a Medicare reform, then you send troops home and all appears in a slightly different way…

On the news today, the credibility of the boy and his mother has been questioned. After they both signed under some oath, that Michael never touched the boy.
After coming from a VERY poor background, to the lap of luxury, and probably Michael has turned his attentions elsewhere, they’re worried they’ll loose their cushy lifestyle Michael has provided.
Also, that first child that Michael paid off, if that was REALLY true, the parents should’ve been taken to court for child neglect ... why? FIRST sign of that dollar sign, they took it and ran. If that had happened to my child, I would make sure he was banged up, to not harm another child, NO amount of money would deter me from that.
And yes, this is a subject I know a LOT about... Michael might be a total fruit loop, but I for one believe he has done nothing wrong. He’s overly friendly with children sure, which he doesn’t see anything wrong in. As do I. This day and age, you even speak to a child, you’re ’labelled’ as a pervert, child molester, etc., etc. , etc.
MiracleMan said on November 28, 2003 06:04:
@StillFar—Huh? More comspiracy theories? Good plot for a movie, but not really in touch with reality. And I’ll reiterate what I said about the media—I read it in the paper, listened to a lengthy report on NPR as well as other radio stations, and even watched the BBC news on PBS as well as CNN, NBC, Fox News, and other news broadcasts. The US was well aware of what went on in England while the President was there.
And I cringed every time they played the clip of Bush saying NUCULER, rather than NUCLEAR. One would think that “the leader of the free world” could pronounce such a simple word correctly—just once.
I’ll agree that people are tried in the media all the time. Is it right? Hell no! So you have Brian May and other celebrities coming out in support of Jackson and many people will already have unfortunately already decided guilty/innocent long before this gets to trial. So we wait and see until January 9th when it begins and this debate will rage on and on and on and on.

I think it is quite bad how everybody judges Michael for something nobody really knows the truth about... has he done it? Has he molested boys?? I don’t know! How could anyone know? I think it is not fair to judge anyone, just because of some rumors that were never proven to be true. I don’t know if he’s done anything like it, and really, I don’t care... I know, if I’d have my own kids, I wouldn’t want them to be in close contact with Michael, so if he is a child molester, and if he actually molested this current boy, I think the boys parents are at fault too... they new all the rumors about michael, so why did they allow their boy to be in such close contact with michael? I don’t know what the truth is... but I also will not judge Michael, as NO ONE was ever able to proof if he’s guilty or not....

OK, here’s my take on that whole Wacko Jacko case. Damineh, I admire your pure soul and all, and respect your opinion, but here is mine.
First off, I am not a fan, and in actuality, I am being honest here, I am a Michael Jackson hater. No, I am not an evil person at all, but I really hate the guy, can’t stand him and his music, his ego, and his looks really creep me out. I don’t feel sorry for the guy, I really hate him. Just the thought of MJ makes me violent inside!! Even when “Thriller” was new and huge back in 1982/1983, I could never understand what all the fuss was about, I found his music to be dreadful at worst, just OK at best. And just looking at all these swarms of people FAINTING at the sight of him drove me nuts!! Like, what is the big deal about his music??? VERY overrated.
On top of that, his ego and calling himself the “King Of Pop”???!!!!??? Made me steaming mad!! His music is crap, and it’s not POP music!! His stuff is crap R+B!! Per Gessle?? Roxette?? Cheap Trick?? Matthew Sweet?? Rooney?? Fountains Of Wayne?? THAT’s PROPER POP, aka POWERPOP, music!! Wacko may have been the king of POPULARITY contests back in the 80s, but not now. He is no King Of Pop, no sirree.
Oh, and Damineh, he DOES have some bad evil bones in his body. He STOLE the Beatles catalogue from under Paul McCartney’s nose!! And he won’t sell it back to it’s rightful owner(s), as he deserves no part of it!!
And when accused, he plays the racist card, which is TOTALLY hypocritical, as he is whiter than a white person, yet claims he is black. That so-called disease is utter bullcrap.
Now, with the case itself, GUILTYGUILTYGUILTY!! He was charged with the same thing 10 years ago, and paid the kid off, generating a change in Cali law. Now, charged again, guilty in both cases, as you can’t hide away from them for long. It’s likely it was covered up from the getgo.
The fact he has 12 year old kids sleeping over and in his bed is severely warped, I’m sorry, it’s just wrong and suspicious!! I blame the parents more for putting their kids in danger. Don’t get me wrong, no problem wuth them going to Neverland for the day, with supervision, go on the rides, eat candy and stuff all day, play with new toys and games, but a sleepover with a 45-year old stranger, unsupervised?? Are you nuts??? And I wouldn’t trust Wacko with my kids (when I have them), dangling the baby from the balcony, covering them up like many in the Mid East.
I’m sorry, but I HOPE he goes down, gets all charges, and goes to jail for a longlonglong time...good riddance...
Jud (moderator) said on January 29, 2004 08:07:

Not that that, but his fans (who are all hardcore), and antics in the media, just keep rubbing in his Wacko-ness, and I’m sorry, but I just get violent, I can’t help it.
His going to jail, justifiably, just feels like a relief, for my sanity. I just have issues when it comes to the wacko, and no, it’s not some childhood psychological issues either. I try to avoid the “guy” but it’s damn near impossible, with all these media sticts.
That’s why I feel such glee...I’m sorry, but I am just being honest, I can’t lie...that, plus his music is possibly the worst music ever made...in my opinion...
I don’t feel this way towards anyone else, just this wacko...just telling you...

He deserves to be in jail for life. He’s a freak. I swear he’s like an alien from outerspace. He’s just an ugly thing-he doesn’t even look like a man or a guy. I feel bad for his kids cuz they gonna turn out to be rapists or killers.
