Which Album to Introduce NEW fans?

Question:
Which Rox album would you give to a person in order to introduce them to Roxette’s music?
Please also explain your choice.

Depends on the age of the person... Joyride got me when I was 15/16.
Room Service is the album I listen to the most the age I am now.

Well, Room service is the most current. . .but I’ve given HAND to a few people because it lived in my CD player for months. For me, a great, solid album start to finish. Room Service is hit or miss in spots.
Joyride would also be good, a lot of familiar songs there, and a nice way to get them into the less familiar. The Look would follow behind Joyride, but I say HAND would be the best choice.

HAND and C!B!B! are my favorites!
HAND includes some of Rox greatest ballads and up tempo songs. Plus this album was well received by the media aswell...
C!B!B! is Roxette!
I guess TBH and TPH are the best introduction though...

Joyride.
’cos it is great, it was their best creating time and it’s better than TPH or TBH:there are all types of Rox songs(Joyride, SMT...)And each song there is a pearl,a work of art.
Or may be LS, or even PoP)))It’s good to know the beginning from the beginning))))

There are two options. Give them DBUGTTC (or TBH and TPH), or give them Joyride or Tourism.
The first option will give them their hit singles, and if they don’t like that then they won’t like anything of Roxette’s.
The second will give them what I think are the two most varied albums. Per has written all sorts of different songs, and seems to like a bit of variety on his albums, but Joyride and Tourism seem to me to have even more variety than normal - so they ought to give a fairly good overview of what Roxette does, rather than just the singles that most people know.
But ideally I would dump all seven original albums and two compilations (the greatest hits EPs plus the non-album tracks from DBUGTTC, TBH and TPH on one, the B-sides and demos on the other) on them.

I think if you ask like this, all the possible albums will be suggested. Just play them what you like most and go from that!
MiracleMan said on November 19, 2003 06:11:
Very good point. . . a compilation of your favorite songs would do as well.

I would give anything from the start right to CBB. Then after that HAND would be good. Very good songs on it. RS I dunno I am not impressed by it. A few good songs here and there and that’s it.

honestly crash boom bang cause it was roxette being roxette...a real pop band....hand is not as reflective of their work een though i think its thir best album and room service is stuffy and old
Markuz said on November 20, 2003 05:59:
“Very” by the Pet Shop Boys, since that´s what roxette has become... hehehehe ;)

Where’s the colour of Roxette hidden?
I really think that HAND, RS, CBB, DBU, TPH can be a fan’s favs, but if I was to introduce a friend to Roxette, I’d choose _Tourism_. Yeah, that’s Roxette, that’s what many of us miss...
Still when I want to show what Roxette is, I make a compilation on my own, regarding the taste of the target to be hooked :) Works every time.

in the matter of fact lots of young fans become fans after RS so it’s good choice to introduce the freshest album...
The Pop hits and the ballads hits is the perfect choice..
After that Tourism to make the final hit ;-)

Tourism, CBB or HAND.
By contrast, Joyride and Look Sharp sound far too dated nowadays to impress anyone. Most of the good songs from these recordings are pretty known anyway. And RS, well RS is just a weak recording when it comes to songwriting.
I would prefer to introduce people to Per’s and (especially) Marie’s solo LPs anyway - far better than most of the Roxette stuff as they are.

Joyride
It has many popular songs from their beggining and it has all the magic of roxette...well you can´t forget room service..just perfect(milk and toast and honey..)Maybe you could start with a compilation(Don´t bore us,for example)and later go on showing the talent of the band.
I can tell you I fell in love with Joyride when i was just 9,now I adore Room Service..woah!a difficult question!!

Have a nice day - this album contains everything: very good ballads, and also powerful music - as mentioned above!
Gave it my friend - she was over the moon!!!!

Wish i could fly its a great song to add fans

I’ve always tried with Tourism... and I’ve succeed. That’s one of the best Roxalbums ever. It has everything, greatest hits in live versions (TL, Joyride, IMHBL), rock songs (Cinnamon, Keep me..), ballads (Rain, Never is...) and even pop (Silver Blue, Come back). It’s a perfect look to Roxmusic.

if you want new fans get them waht more fans bought, JOYRIDE! or LOOK SHARP!
if fact i’m gonna listen to roxette 1988 album right now! cos i worth it.
room service just looks so cheap, surprisingly they mentioned how great was the new beats maker.

Room Service. Because it’s the freshest album for one, and also it does have a lot of good songs on it. I would also use The Pop Hits, I think that’s Roxette at their best. The negative thing about that album is that you have very little Marie on it.
