I’ve mentioned it before; these translations are not the best. No shadow on the translators, but keep that in mind when you read the translations. Some of the songs have gotten a totally different meaning thru these translations. No Swedes were involved in the process, I believe.

tev, one mazarin song per week, come on
it’s not too time consuming at that rate ;) :)
Jud (moderator) said on November 14, 2003 13:05:
no translation can keep the exact meaning + feeling.. even if it’s done perfectly by Thomas ;)
So... learn Swedish!
(joking, just in case u are planning to flame me ;))
Ferdan said on November 14, 2003 13:31:
The question is not learning or knowing swedish querida, bomboncito Judith... (those were my flames.)
The question is LIVING in there to learn their dialects and metaphorical meanings etc. that’s why those translations aren’t correct... so, I´m sorry for myself, but learning swedish is not enough :(
tevensso (moderator) said on November 14, 2003 13:46:
OK, I had some time and have now gone thru them. They weren’t as bad as last time I checked, so someone must have worked on them. :) Anyways, I’ve corrected what I felt was wrong, and added the missing songs (Mazarin for instance). Ha ha! http://www.evensson.com/gyllenetider click discography, albums, Mazarin, translated lyrics.

Now that I’ve had a chance to read the lyrics and follow along with the translations, I have to say Mazarin is a great album. My appreciation for it has increased a thousand-fold. Not a bum track on the whole thing.
Thanks everyone.
