I’m very prone to getting nights of insomnia. It’s very stressing on the next day. :(
LittleSpooky said on September 24, 2003 04:49:
It’s not uncommon for me. I’m used to bouts of insomnia anymore
derek said on September 25, 2003 22:45:
hey Ally would you like me to come over and read you a bedtime story .with my stories you would be asleep in seconds (or maybe not)

Not sleeping is not very good. I start each term by sleeping at least 5 hours a night. This reduces to 2-1 and at times 0 hours of sleep per days by mid-term. This term, it’s already started to go down and it’s only the 3rd week of school. I feel weird at night, butterflies in my stomach, too many thoughts in my head. Tonight is one of those nights. It’s 12:36am and I have to get up at 6 for my class. For the past 10 days, I’ve been sleeping no earlier than 1am! Dunno why!
Close2U said on September 26, 2003 10:00:
Funny. I’m tired whole day long. Especially today. I could sleep any time. Unfortunately, I’m at work.
MiracleMan said on September 27, 2003 04:29:
Ah, Dr. Watson! We may have found the tip of the source there. . .sleeping in the day. I find if I nap in the day, it makes it horribly hard to get to sleep at a decent hour so I can function properly at work. No nap makes sure I’ll be dog-ass tired when I need to get to bed. It still doesn’t stop insomnia, though. Thank God I don’t drive for a living, or operate any sort of machinery with maiming potential.
i_jera said on September 27, 2003 12:45:
If I sleep every day for more than 8 hours I sometimes get “insomnic”, like if I sleep too much... But I anyway don’t. Usually I sleep like 6 - 7 hours a night (it’s somehow enough for me) and I have no worries about being unable to fall asleep... But if I sleep less than 6 hours (per night) for more than I week at the end I feel very exausted and not fine at all... And my way of thinking somehow changes. The same goes when I don’t sleep at all - I either get very snappish for nothing, or either get depressive (again for nothing). My thoughts go in some strange directions and I hardly control myself, so if not for me, then for the people around me I should try to sleep normally. If I don’t it effects on me a lot, both on my personality and body.

ask someone to touch your back. it might work. it worked for me anyway :)
xuxa said on September 28, 2003 18:23:
Usually I have a lot of difficulties to sleep. It’s kinda usual for me to get sleep after 2 or 3 am. But, I prefer not to sleep than take sleeping pills.
There are some kind of teas that you can take before you go to bed which might help you too:) I guess it’s healthy than sleeping pills.
derek said on September 28, 2003 18:49:
no i dont take pills for sleep because they can become addictive and yes there some thees that do help me to relax
DaminehGessle said on September 29, 2003 23:47:
Yeah pills are addictive. I can’t usually sleep well cause of my back problems. Any position hurts so I take my painkiller before going to bed. Unfortunately the painkiller isn’t working anymore. I started taking 2 but then I realized I was taking it to sleep better and that wasn’t good. So I quit it. Now I just sleep in pain :D.
derek said on October 1, 2003 20:07:
what problem do you have with your back Damineh if you dont mind me asking
DaminehGessle said on October 7, 2003 09:09:
It’s 2 in the morning. I have been studying non-stop these past few days as I have all kinds of midterms, assignments, lab reports and design projects due this week. I have a harsh midterm on Wednesday that I have been studying for all afternoon and night up until now. I am fed up with studying so I decided to sleep. But guess what! I have had so much coffee and tea that i can’t go to bed.

Derek: I messed up my back 4 years ago very very badly. Apparently I was going overboard with my tennis, swimming and biking. It took me a second to realize what a mess I’d become. I was reaching for a pen and bang, I couldn’t move. I couldnt even call for help. Tears were rolling down. Oh man! It was as if my nerves were running up and down my spine. Anyways they took me to the hospital right away. Nothing they could do about it. They found out that my cervical and lumber discs were narrowed and bulged to the point where the nerves were touching. I was in bed for 3 weeks. I couldn’t even talk for a few days. It was HORRIBLE. Yeah so from then on, my back has been a mess. I am in constant pain. My cervical discs cause pain in the neck, head and arms and my lumber discs cause pain in the legs. So it’s all messed up. No therapy has been helpful to date. My doci said he couldnt do the surgery because I am too young for this. This usually happens to people over 50. So go figure :D.
I am still very strong though :D. Can kick arse very well indeed.

Tossed in bed for the better part of an hour. I have to fly to D.C. tomorrow and as I got precious little sleep last night, one would think sleep would come easier. . .
It’s amazing what bounces around your head while you’re trying to sleep. . .
Chilly tonght, good sleeping weather. We’re enjoying a beautiful Indian Summer at the moment. . .
Can’t get “Så Länge Det Lyser Mittemot” out of my head. Rather the chorus. And as I don’t know th words, it’s the beat and the melody rolling in a contimuous loop. . .
I can’t believe Arnold Swartzenegger was elected gouverner of California. . .
I can’t decide whether it’s more annoying to have your mind cluttered with the worrisome things, or just the detrius of this and that floating willy-nilly through as you try to fall asleep. . .
I was so tired when I got home from work I decided to take a nap. Two hours later I dragged my butt out of bed. I shouldn’t have napped. This always happens. . .
DaminehGessle said on October 8, 2003 07:12:
MiracleMan: Don’t think of bad things when you are trying to sleep. Pray for me and for my test!!! :S
It’s 12:15 and I’m still at school. Sucks!
Where in the US are you from?
MiracleMan said on October 8, 2003 14:35:
Small toen in north central Missouri, but I was born and raised in Hannibal, Missouri, boyhood home of Mark Twain. Didn’t appreciate him when I was having him crammed down my throat growing up—BIG on tourism, Hannibal—but now I really love his writing. Still relevent and funny and keenly obeserved almost a hundred years after his death. . .
And that’s the end of our geography/historical interest segment. Now over to Debbie at the Weather Desk.
DaminehGessle said on October 8, 2003 18:47:
MiracleMan you are funny.
Actually yes Mark Twain’s work was amazing. No wonder some people can never be erased from history.

I’m in college, most days, from 9am-2pm. Then, when I worked in HMV, I’d work from 3pm-9pm. And because I was just sitting behind the counter all day - I’d become very lively at night when I’d be trying to sleep. So, as a result, I’d be on this damn PC most nights - and wouldn’t study or couldn’t sleep.
So, I decided to get another job. It’s another crappy job. But now I’m working my arse off the whole day!! Running around and carrying heavy boxes and doing 10,000 things all at once. I came home from work today at 6.00 - and was asleep in bed by 6.15! I woke up today at 1.30am, and wasn’t able to get back asleep. I am off to be in college/work for 15 hours today...
Ever felt like you could die from exhaustion even when you’ve slept? That’s what I feel like right now... I can only imagine what I’d feel like from 4pm today! :(
Oh god... I have to be off now... :(
*I had to edit this post cause there was about 10,000 gramatical errors (example: writting ’album’ instead of ’able’).*
ally77 said on February 26, 2005 22:03:
So do I since I started this.... not had a sleepless night in yonks! :)
ally77 said on June 19, 2005 01:12:
It’s just to hot to sleep.... even with the windows open and a fan on there is no air in the bedroom to breathe, had to come downstairs... anyone else having trouble sleeping...
LittleSpooky said on June 19, 2005 04:04:
I’ve been having issues with sleeping... but I think it’s because I don’t have a routine of having to get up and be alert for my job any more.
...... and I need to find a new one.
ally77 said on June 19, 2005 07:39:
Well I finally get back to bed just before 3am only to get woken by a loud bang.... followed by 10 minutes later of sirens and flashing blue lights... I did not need to look, I guessed someone had set fire to a car again in the back street.... so then I am laying in bed listening to the radios from the first crew until just after 4ish, I think then I must have dropped off and woke up at 6.20am to go to work... only it’s Sunday and so I don’t have to go to work.... but I got up anyway!
MiracleMan said on June 20, 2005 02:43:
Awwww, Ally. . . setting fire to a car? I thoguht you were looking for a place to move to? And I HATE it when I get awakened early on a Sunday or for that matter on any day when I get to sleep in.
ally77 said on June 20, 2005 06:53:
Still wanting to move I just cannot decide if I should stay here another 12 months and have my holiday I have planned for December... or move! but moving is gonna cost me more money in the long run and will also cause me more problems.... but I still want to move, it’s just gonna be more expensive...
TinyBubbles said on June 20, 2005 13:36:

And it happened to me this morning! I have a friend who consistantly calls me beofre my alarm goes off, usually five minutes before. As I’m off on a business trip this afternoon and have to drive the two hours to the airport, she thought sh’d ring me and chat for a bit. A HALF HOUR BEFORE I HAD MY ALARM SET—TWO AND A HALF HOURS BEFORE I HAVE TO BE OUT OF THE HOUSE! Urgh! I let the answering maching get it and called her back forty-five minutes later.
And speaking of—gotta finish getting ready. See you Thursday or so.
