Great! Does anyone know who won during all the years, especially after Roxette releases?
According to http://www.worldmusicawards.com/ it is broadcasted in 160 countries, including the US. So probably the UK as well.
Kiwein1 said on September 23, 2003 20:03:
-> Germany, DLRB, SFB, SR
Wow, the smallest stations in the whole country, how sweet!
pietROxette said on September 23, 2003 20:04:
LR???? There’s no such TV here in Hungary... Where did you get this info from?
Jud (moderator) said on September 23, 2003 20:28:
well in Spain there is no such tv called RNE, but TVE1 and TVE2, but well, it is the state’s tv/radio company = RNE :P
Starrox said on September 23, 2003 20:32:
@Kiwein: Maybe those are just the stations responsible for the broadcast and it’ll be shown on ARD?
BTW, SFB doesn’t even exist anymore, does it? And what is DLRB?
Santi said on September 23, 2003 20:34:
Purplemedusa said “broadcasters”, not TV stations. A radio broadcast is broadcasted also, by a “broadcaster” :D
Judith: RNE is just radio, RTVE is the company.
Starrox said on September 23, 2003 20:57:
Oh, so I was right after all! I was just confused since I was only thinking about ARD stations with a TV programme...
Kiwein1 said on September 23, 2003 21:09:
I’m wondering about SR! What’s that supposed to be? Wasn’t that the former SFB or kind of that?
rox-kuryliw said on September 23, 2003 21:52:
Great news for roxette ( they still have it.) ,
bet it was ballad hits that sold 1 million +
a little supprised roxette wont collect it in person, would be good to see them together again, but i can understand i guess :)
ps i watch it in UK every year. on very late normally.
ditroia said on September 24, 2003 02:14:
IN Australia the 2000 WMA was Boradcast on Channel Ten on Primetime and I was able to tape roxette.
If It’s on TV I’ll still watch it.

awesome, too bad they can’t be there to accept the award. it would have been great PR for them
LittleSpooky said on September 24, 2003 05:27:
Okay... just because I seem to be the only person to have noticed this:
But what the hell does Matthew Sheppard’s death have to do with the WMA’s????
I understand that this was a sad / traumatic event, but for nuts sake... DON’T tie the WMA’s into it!!!!
gyllene_tjej said on September 24, 2003 07:48:
I am sure the main TV station will get the permition to broadcast the ceremony, otherwise it’s unlikely to reach an approximately 1 billion viewers level.
Pascal said on September 24, 2003 09:04:
WOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!
That’s what I call great news!!!!!!!!!!!!
But the question is : will Marie be fit enough to attend the event?
Pascal said on September 24, 2003 09:05:
Oooooops, just read the article on roxette.nl
So they will not attend the show.
coyboyusa said on September 24, 2003 12:12:
this may be the first world music awards that neither of them are at to accept an award mind you because i dont see per going without marie
Sascha said on September 24, 2003 14:33:
Why shouldn’t Per go alone if he doesn’t perform? Marie went to take an award for Roxette as well in the past.
Emil__BG said on September 24, 2003 14:38:
Bulgaria, BNR
i guess it’s Bulgarian National Radio
big broadcaster:-)
LaMan said on September 24, 2003 20:22:
who´s Mathew Shepards ? :o
Why can´t Per go there alone? (to Monaco)

Matthew Shepard was gay (just 17 years old) and he got killed because he was gay. Some people beat him up and chained him to a gate, or something horrible like that. There’s even a movie/film about him and what happened.
Melissa Etheridge wrote the song “scarecrow” about him (or for him), it’s a track on her “Breakdown”album. But ok, this reply is getting Off-topic now...
I’m happy that Roxette won the prize again, though they have only released TBH & ON!!!
Hip-hip Hurray!!!!
Denstandigaresan said on September 24, 2003 21:41:
Yeah it’s always on here. Like buried in the early hours of the morning schedule. :)
LittleSpooky said on September 25, 2003 02:46:
Matthew Sheppard was a young man who was brutally murdered because he was gay.
Go here for more information:

Sascha said on September 25, 2003 09:52:
And? Every day thousands of people get brutally murdered. There is no happy day left.
room-service said on September 25, 2003 10:05:
@Starrox/Kiwein: SR is definately the “Saarländischer Rundfunk” but what does this station has to do with the other station, which are all from Berlin?
BTW You’re right SFB doesn’t exist anymore, ORB and SFB are now RBB.
The last years the ZDF showed the world music awards.
harriej said on September 23, 2003 19:14:
This shows that Roxette is still big!
Or are the other scandinavian bands so small?
