Their career might be over (although they’re still trying to flog a couple of new compositions on this collection) but the Roxette back catalogue continues to be repackaged.
Not long ago we had a compilation called Ballad Hits. That sold so well that we now get The Pop Hits.
13 hits plus new songs Opportunity Nox and Little Miss Sorrow.
Chances are this will also sell quite well. Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle certainly know how to find their way round disposable pop songs.
This is one of those albums where you can safely say you’ll know more songs than you think. A few opening bars and the memory vaults should be reopened (although try singing a Roxette tune without any help and you may be struggling).
The Look and Joyride are the big songs on display. This being the Pop Hits means you don’t get It Must Have Been Love and Fading Like A Flower.
Rest assured, however, now we’ve got the ballads and pop out of the way it won’t take one bright spark long to come up with putting them all together on the Ultimate Roxette Greatest Hits.
The Pop Hits is released on Capitol / Roxette 724358215724
2.5/5
hehe, I’m a fan don’t get me wrong but I had to laugh when I read this

...speaking of postage stamps - if anybody still has them, they should scan pictures of them and ’post’ them on the internet. ;)

you might find some photos on ebay. I put a bid in a couple of years ago and I forgot to check back on my bid and Vix beat me on the bid....anyways there might be some scans there for you.

The next though I think will be a special compilation 2cd pack only for real real fans which will contain GT, PG, MF and ROx greatest hits ;)))
*muahahahaha*
Giving more ideas to creative EMI aka Capitol Records *nanana*

There is only 1 stamp of Roxette, the other 2 are some other famous Swedish artists.

Hej,
I do have the set of Swedisch Stamps
I also have a scanner. But haven’t got a clue how to put that scan on the internet. I can send you a mail containing the picture if you like.
But just as Vixzter said, the stamp is not very exciting.

Speaking of stamps, I just have to tell you what happend to me this morning.
My colleague came by my desk and gave me the original stamp, in the box with the postcard and everything. He had been cleaning at home and found them, and he thought I might like to have them, since he knows I love Roxette and Per and Marie.
Isn’t that the sweetest thing? I like him a lot!

Sadly, I would say this was a typical type of comment and viewpoint from the British music media.
I don’t think it will ever change.
