"Naked to the bone" What is this means????

Maybe this question sounds silly, but in the song “(do you get) Excited” Maries sings:
”.....naked to the bone the dream comes alive...”
and a friend of mine asked me what is this means??
I mean, naked to the bone. Well, for me it means complitely naked. That’s what I told him.
But why “to the bone”??? What is this means???
I guess someone here has another explanation.....

i belive it mean as naked you can bee in all ways psycicaly and emotinal, the word bone is yoused because that is the skelaton
